1 D iz o néscio no seu coração: Não há Deus. Os homens têm-se corrompido, fazem-se abomináveis em suas obras; não há quem faça o bem.

The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt. They have done abominable deeds. There is no one who does good.

2 O Senhor olhou do céu para os filhos dos homens, para ver se havia algum que tivesse entendimento, que buscasse a Deus.

Yahweh looked down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there were any who understood, who sought after God.

3 D esviaram-se todos e juntamente se fizeram imundos; não há quem faça o bem, não há sequer um.

They have all gone aside. They have together become corrupt. There is no one who does good, no, not one.

4 A caso não tem conhecimento nem sequer um dos que praticam a iniqüidade, que comem o meu povo como se comessem pão, e que não invocam o Senhor?

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and don’t call on Yahweh?

5 A char-se-ão ali em grande pavor, porque Deus está na geração dos justos.

There they were in great fear, for God is in the generation of the righteous.

6 V ós quereis frustar o conselho dos pobres, mas o Senhor é o seu refúgio.

You frustrate the plan of the poor, because Yahweh is his refuge.

7 O xalá que de Sião viesse a salvação de Israel! Quando o Senhor fizer voltar os cativos do seu povo, então se regozijará Jacó e se alegrará Israel.

Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When Yahweh restores the fortunes of his people, then Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
