1 O Senhor é o meu pastor; nada me faltará.

Yahweh is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing.

2 D eitar-me faz em pastos verdejantes; guia-me mansamente a águas tranqüilas.

He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.

3 R efrigera a minha alma; guia-me nas veredas da justiça por amor do seu nome.

He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

4 A inda que eu ande pelo vale da sombra da morte, não temerei mal algum, porque tu estás comigo; a tua vara e o teu cajado me consolam.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5 P reparas uma mesa perante mim na presença dos meus inimigos; unges com óleo a minha cabeça, o meu cálice transborda.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over.

6 C ertamente que a bondade e a misericórdia me seguirão todos os dias da minha vida, e habitarei na casa do Senhor por longos dias.

Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Yahweh’s house forever.
