1 Q ueste sono le tappe dei figli d'Israele che uscirono dal paese d'Egitto, secondo le loro schiere, sotto la guida di Mosè e di Aaronne.

¶ These are the journeys of the sons of Israel who went forth out of the land of Egypt with their hosts under the hand of Moses and Aaron.

2 O r Mosè mise per scritto i loro luoghi di partenza, tappa per tappa, per ordine dell'Eterno; e queste sono le loro tappe, in base ai loro luoghi di partenza.

And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of the LORD. These are their journeys according to their goings out.

3 P artirono da Rameses nel primo mese, il quindicesimo giorno del primo mese. Il giorno dopo la Pasqua i figli d'Israele partirono pieni di baldanza, sotto gli occhi di tutti gli Egiziani,

And they departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the second day of the passover the sons of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.

4 m entre gli Egiziani seppellivano tutti i loro primogeniti che l'Eterno aveva colpito fra di loro. L'Eterno aveva eseguito il suo giudizio anche sui loro dèi.

For the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, which the LORD had smitten among them, the LORD having also executed judgments upon their gods.

5 I figli d'Israele partirono dunque da Rameses e si accamparono a Sukkoth.

And the sons of Israel removed from Rameses and pitched in Succoth.

6 P artirono da Sukkoth e si accamparono a Etham, che è ai margini del deserto.

And they departed from Succoth and pitched in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness.

7 P artirono da Etham e ripiegarono su Pi-Hahiroth che è di fronte a Baal-Tsefon, e si accamparono davanti a Migdol.

And they removed from Etham and turned again unto Pihahiroth, which is before Baalzephon, and they pitched before Migdol.

8 P artirono da Hahiroth, attraversarono il mare in direzione del deserto, fecero tre giorni di cammino nel deserto di Etham e si accamparono a Mara.

And they departed from before Pihahiroth and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness and went three days’ journey in the wilderness of Etham and pitched in Marah.

9 P artirono da Mara e giunsero ad Elim; ad Elim c'erano dodici sorgenti d'acqua e settanta palme; e là si accamparono.

And they removed from Marah and came unto Elim, and in Elim were twelve fountains of water and seventy palm trees, and they pitched there.

10 P artirono da Elim e si accamparono presso il Mar Rosso.

And they removed from Elim and encamped by the Red sea.

11 P artirono dal Mar Rosso e si accamparono nel deserto di Sin.

And they removed from the Red sea and encamped in the wilderness of Sin.

12 P artirono dal deserto di Sin e si accamparono a Dofkah.

And they took their journey out of the wilderness of Sin and encamped in Dophkah.

13 P artirono da Dofkah e si accamparono ad Alush.

And they departed from Dophkah and encamped in Alush.

14 P artirono da Alush e si accamparono a Refidim, dove non c'era acqua da bere per il popolo.

And they removed from Alush and encamped at Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.

15 P artirono da Refidim e si accamparono nel deserto del Sinai.

And they departed from Rephidim and pitched in the wilderness of Sinai.

16 P artirono dal deserto del Sinai e si accamparono a Kibroth-Hattaavah.

And they removed from the desert of Sinai and pitched at Kibrothhattaavah.

17 P artirono da Kibroth-Hattaavah e si accamparono a Hatseroth.

And they departed from Kibrothhattaavah and encamped at Hazeroth.

18 P artirono da Hatseroth e si accamparono a Rithmah.

And they departed from Hazeroth and pitched in Rithmah.

19 P artirono da Rithmah e si accamparono a Rimmon-Perets.

And they departed from Rithmah and pitched at Rimmonparez.

20 P artirono da Rimmon-Perets e si accamparono a Libnah.

And they departed from Rimmonparez and pitched in Libnah.

21 P artirono da Libnah e si accamparono a Rissah.

And they removed from Libnah and pitched at Rissah.

22 P artirono da Rissah e si accamparono a Kehelathah.

And they journeyed from Rissah and pitched in Kehelathah.

23 P artirono da Kehelathah e si accamparono al monte Scefer.

And they went from Kehelathah and pitched in Mount Shapher.

24 P artirono dal monte di Scefer e si accamparono a Haradah.

And they removed from Mount Shapher and encamped in Haradah.

25 P artirono dal monte di Haradah e si accamparono a Makheloth.

And they removed from Haradah and pitched in Makheloth.

26 P artirono da Makheloth e si accamparono a Tahath.

And they removed from Makheloth and encamped at Tahath.

27 P artirono da Tahath e si accamparono a Terah.

And they departed from Tahath and pitched at Tarah.

28 P artirono da Terah e si accamparono a Mithkah.

And they removed from Tarah and pitched in Mithcah.

29 P artirono da Mithkah e si accamparono a Hashmonah.

And they went from Mithcah and pitched in Hashmonah.

30 P artirono da Hashmonah e si accamparono a Moseroth.

And they departed from Hashmonah and encamped at Moseroth.

31 P artirono da Moseroth e si accamparono a Bene-Jaakan.

And they departed from Moseroth and pitched in Benejaakan.

32 P artirono da Bene-Jaakan e si accamparono a Hor-Haghidgad.

And they removed from Benejaakan and encamped at Horhagidgad.

33 P artirono da Hor-Haghidgad e si accamparono a Jotbathah.

And they went from Horhagidgad and pitched in Jotbathah.

34 P artirono da Jotbathah e si accamparono a Abronah.

And they removed from Jotbathah and encamped at Ebronah.

35 P artirono da Abronah e si accamparono a Etsion-Gheber.

And they departed from Ebronah and encamped at Eziongaber.

36 P artirono da Etsion-Gheber e si accamparono nel deserto di Sin cioè a Kadesh.

And they removed from Eziongaber and pitched in the wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh.

37 P oi partirono da Kadesh e si accamparono al monte Hor ai margini del paese di Edom.

And they removed from Kadesh and pitched in Mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.

38 Q uindi il sacerdote Aaronne salì sul monte Hor per ordine dell'Eterno e là morì nel quarantesimo anno da quando i figli d'Israele erano usciti dal paese d'Egitto, il primo giorno del quinto mese.

And Aaron, the priest, went up into Mount Hor at the commandment of the LORD and died there in the fortieth year, after the sons of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the first day of the fifth month.

39 A aronne aveva centoventitré anni quando morì sul monte Hor.

And Aaron was one hundred and twenty-three years old when he died in Mount Hor.

40 O r I re di Arad, il Cananeo, che abitava nel Neghev, nel paese di Canaan, udì dell'arrivo dei figli d'Israele

And King Arad, the Canaanite, who dwelt in the Negev in the land of Canaan, heard how the sons of Israel had come.

41 C osì essi partirono dal monte Hor e si accamparono a Tsalmonah.

And they departed from Mount Hor and pitched in Zalmonah.

42 P artirono da Tsalmonah e si accamparono a Punon.

And they departed from Zalmonah and pitched in Punon.

43 P artirono da Punon e si accamparono a Oboth.

And they departed from Punon and pitched in Oboth.

44 P artirono da Oboth e si accamparono a Ije-Abarim al confine di Moab.

And they departed from Oboth and pitched in Ijeabarim, in the border of Moab.

45 P artirono da Ije-Abarim e si accamparono a Dibon-Gad.

And they departed from Iim and pitched in Dibongad.

46 P artirono da Dibon-Gad e si accamparono a Almon-Diblathaim.

And they removed from Dibongad and encamped in Almondiblathaim.

47 P artirono da Almon-Diblathaim e si accamparono sui monti Abarim, di fronte al Nebo.

And they removed from Almondiblathaim and pitched in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.

48 P artirono dai monti Abarim e si accamparono nelle pianure di Moab, presso il Giordano sulla sponda opposta a Gerico.

And they departed from the mountains of Abarim and pitched in the plains of Moab by Jordan of Jericho.

49 S i accamparono presso il Giordano, da Beth-Jescimoth fino ad Abel-Shittim nelle pianure di Moab.

Finally they pitched by the Jordan, from Bethjesimoth even unto Abelshittim in the plains of Moab.

50 P oi l'Eterno parlò a Mosè nelle pianure di Moab, presso al Giordano sulla sponda opposta a Gerico, dicendo:

¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan of Jericho, saying,

51 « Parla ai figli d'Israele e di' loro: Quando passerete il Giordano, per entrare nel paese di Canaan,

Speak unto the sons of Israel and say unto them, When ye have passed the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

52 s caccerete davanti a voi tutti gli abitanti del paese, distruggerete tutte le loro immagini, distruggerete tutte le loro statue di metallo fuso e demolirete tutti i loro alti luoghi.

then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you and abolish all their paintings and abolish all their molten images and destroy all their high places,

53 P renderete possesso del paese e in esso vi stabilirete, perché io vi ho dato il paese in proprietà.

and ye shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land and dwell therein; for I have given you the land to inherit it.

54 D ividerete il paese a sorte, secondo le vostre famiglie. Alle piú grandi darete una porzione maggiore, e alle piú piccole darete una porzione minore. Ognuno avrà quello che gli sarà toccato a sorte; le spartizioni verranno fatte in base alle tribú dei vostri padri.

And ye shall inherit the land by lots by your families, and to those with the most ye shall give more inheritance, and to the fewer ye shall give less inheritance, each one’s inheritance shall be in the place where his lot falls; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall inherit.

55 M a se non scacciate davanti a voi gli abitanti del paese, quelli di loro da voi lasciati, saranno per voi come spine negli occhi e pungoli nei fianchi e vi molesteranno nel paese che abiterete.

But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall come to pass that those whom ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes and thorns in your sides and shall afflict you in the land in which ye dwell.

56 E avverrà che io tratterò voi come mi ero proposto di trattare loro».

Moreover it shall come to pass that I shall do unto you, as I thought to do unto them.
