1 « Poi fa'accostare a te Aaronne tuo fratello e i suoi figli con lui, dal mezzo dei figli d'Israele, perché serva a me come sacerdote: Aaronne, Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar e Ithamar, figli di Aaronne.

¶ And cause Aaron, thy brother, to come unto thee with his sons, from among the sons of Israel, that they may be my priests, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s sons.

2 E farai ad Aaronne, tuo fratello, delle vesti sacre, per conferirgli onore e grazia.

And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron, thy brother, for honour and for beauty.

3 p arlerai a tutte le persone abili, che ho ripieno di spirito di sapienza, ed esse faranno le vesti di Aaronne per consacrarlo, perché serva a me come sacerdote.

And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise-hearted, whom I have filled with the Spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments to sanctify him, that he may be my priest.

4 E questi sono le vesti che faranno: un pettorale, un efod, un mantello, una tunica lavorata a maglia, un turbante e una cintura. Faranno dunque delle vesti sacre per Aaronne tuo fratello e per i suoi figli, affinché serva a me come sacerdote;

And these are the garments which they shall make: the pectoral, the ephod, the robe, the broidered coat, the mitre, and the girdle. Therefore let them make the holy garments for Aaron, thy brother, and his sons, that they may be my priests.

5 e ssi useranno oro e filo violaceo, porporino, scarlatto e lino fino.

And they shall take gold, blue, purple, scarlet, and fine linen,

6 F arai l'efod d'oro e di filo violaceo, porporino, scarlatto e di lino fino ritorto, lavorato artisticamente.

¶ and they shall make the ephod of gold, blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cunning work.

7 A lle sue due estremità esso avrà attaccate due spalline, perché sia tenuto insieme.

It shall have its two shoulderpieces joined at the two edges thereof, and so it shall be joined together.

8 L a cintura artisticamente lavorata, che è sull'efod, sarà dello stesso lavoro dell'efod: d'oro e di filo color violaceo, porporino, scarlatto e di lino fino ritorto.

And the special girdle of the ephod, which shall be over it, shall be of its same workmanship, of the same materials: of gold, blue, purple, scarlet and fine twined linen.

9 P oi prenderai due pietre d'onice e inciderai su di esse i nomi dei figli d'Israele:

And thou shalt take two onyx stones and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel:

10 s ei dei loro nomi su una pietra e gli altri sei nomi sull'altra pietra, secondo il loro ordine di nascita.

Six of their names on one stone and the other six names of the rest on the other stone, according to their birth.

11 I nciderai su queste due pietre i nomi dei figli d'Israele come fa l'intagliatore di pietra nell'incisione di un sigillo; le farai inserire in castoni d'oro.

With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a seal, shalt thou engrave those two stones with the names of the sons of Israel; thou shalt make them to be set in settings of gold.

12 M etterai le due pietre sulle spalline dell'efod, come pietre di ricordo per i figli d'Israele; e Aaronne porterà i loro nomi davanti all'Eterno sulle sue due spalle, per ricordo.

And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for stones of memorial unto the sons of Israel, and Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for a memorial.

13 F arai inoltre dei castoni d'oro

And thou shalt make the settings of gold

14 e due catenelle d'oro puro, intrecciate come una corda, e metterai nei castoni le catenelle così intrecciate.

and two small chains of pure gold; of wreathen work shalt thou make them and fasten the wreathen chains to the settings.

15 F arai pure il pettorale del giudizio, artisticamente lavorato; lo farai come il lavoro dell'efod: d'oro, di filo violaceo, porporino e scarlatto, e di lino fino ritorto.

¶ And in the same manner thou shalt make the pectoral of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it, of gold, blue, purple, scarlet, and of fine twined linen.

16 S arà quadrato e piegato in due; avrà la lunghezza di una spanna e una spanna di larghezza.

It shall be square and double; a span shall be the length thereof, and a span shall be the breadth thereof.

17 E vi incastonerai quattro file di pietre; nella prima fila: un sardonio, un topazio e uno smeraldo;

And thou shalt fill it with four rows of stones; The order shall be a ruby, an emerald, and a chrysolite; this shall be the first order.

18 n ella seconda fila: un turchese, uno zaffiro e un diamante;

And the second order shall be a carbuncle, a sapphire, and a diamond.

19 n ella terza fila: un giacinto, un'agata e un'ametista;

And the third order, a topaz, a turquoise, and an amethyst.

20 n ella quarta fila: un grisolito, un onice e un diaspro. Queste pietre saranno inserite nei loro castoni d'oro.

And the fourth row a tarshish (or beryl) and an onyx and a jasper; they shall be set in gold in their inclosings.

21 E le pietre corrisponderanno ai nomi dei figli d'Israele: dodici, secondo i loro nomi, incisi come dei sigilli, ciascuna col nome delle tribú d'Israele.

And those stones shall be in agreement with the names of the sons of Israel, twelve, in agreement with their names; each one in agreement with his name like the engravings of a seal; they shall be according to the twelve tribes.

22 F arai pure sul pettorale delle catenelle d'oro puro intrecciate come cordoni.

And thou shalt also make upon the pectoral small chains of wreathen work of pure gold.

23 P oi farai sul pettorale due anelli d'oro, e metterai i due anelli alle due estremità del pettorale.

And thou shalt make upon the pectoral two rings of gold and shalt put the two rings on the two ends of the pectoral.

24 p oi fisserai i due cordoni d'oro ai due anelli alle estremità del pettorale;

And thou shalt put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings which are on the ends of the pectoral.

25 e attaccherai gli altri due capi dei due cordoni ai due castoni e li metterai sulle due spalline dell'efod, sul davanti.

And the other two ends of the two wreathen chains thou shalt fasten in the two settings and put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod on the front of it.

26 F arai pure due anelli d'oro e li metterai alle due estremità del pettorale, sul suo orlo, che è nella parte interna dell'efod.

Thou shalt also make two rings of gold, and thou shalt put them upon the two ends of the pectoral in the border thereof, which is in the side of the ephod inward.

27 F arai due altri anelli d'oro e li metterai alle due spalline dell'efod in basso, sul davanti vicino al punto di giuntura, al di sopra della cintura artisticamente lavorata dell'efod.

Likewise two other rings of gold thou shalt make and shalt put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the front part thereof, over against the other coupling thereof, above the special girdle of the ephod.

28 E si fisserà il pettorale mediante i suoi anelli agli anelli dell'efod con un cordone violaceo, perché il pettorale sia sopra la cintura artisticamente lavorata dell'efod e non abbia a staccarsi dall'efod.

And they shall bind the pectoral by its rings unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it may be above the special girdle of the ephod and that the pectoral not be loosed from the ephod.

29 C osì Aaronne porterà i nomi dei figli d'Israele incisi nel pettorale del giudizio sul suo cuore, quando entrerà nel santuario, in ricordo perenne davanti all'Eterno.

And Aaron shall bear the names of the sons of Israel in the pectoral of judgment upon his heart when he goes in unto the sanctuary for a memorial before the LORD continually.

30 M etterai sul pettorale del giudizio l'Urim e il Thummim; e staranno sul cuore di Aaronne quando egli si presenterà davanti all'Eterno. Così Aaronne porterà il giudizio dei figli d'Israele sul suo cuore davanti all'Eterno, del continuo.

And thou shalt put in the pectoral of judgment Urim and Thummim, that they shall be upon Aaron’s heart when he goes in before the LORD; and Aaron shall always bear the judgment of the sons of Israel upon his heart before the LORD.

31 F arai anche il mantello dell'efod, tutto di color violaceo.

¶ And thou shalt make the robe of the ephod all of blue.

32 N el suo mezzo vi sarà un'apertura per passari il capo; tutt'intorno all'apertura vi sarà un orlo di tessuto lavorato, come l'apertura di una corazza, perché non si strappi.

And it shall have the collar of his head in the midst thereof, which shall have a binding of woven work round about it, as the collar of a habergeon, that it not be rent.

33 T utt'intorno all'orlo del mantello farai delle melagrane di color violaceo, porporino e scarlatto, e in mezzo ad esse tutt'intorno, campanelli d'oro:

And beneath upon the hem of it, thou shalt make pomegranates of blue and of purple and of scarlet round about the hem thereof and bells of gold between them round about.

34 u n campanello d'oro e una melagrana un campanello d'oro e una melagrana, tutto intorno, sull'orlo del mantello.

A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate upon the hem of the robe round about.

35 A aronne lo userà per fare il servizio; e il suo suono si sentirà quando entrerà nel luogo santo davanti all'Eterno e quando ne uscirà, perché egli non muoia.

And it shall be upon Aaron to minister, and his sound shall be heard when he goes in unto the sanctuary before the LORD and when he comes out, that he not die.

36 F arai anche una piastra d'oro puro e su di essa inciderai, come su di un sigillo: SANTITA' ALL'ETERNO.

Thou shalt also make an open flower of pure gold and engrave upon it the engravings of a seal, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD.

37 A d essa legherai un nastro violaceo, per attaccarla al turbante; essa deve stare sulla parte anteriore del turbante.

And thou shalt put it on with a blue lace that it may be upon the mitre; upon the forefront of the mitre it shall be.

38 C osì starà sulla fronte di Aaronne, e Aaronne porterà la colpa associata alle cose sante presentate dai figli d'Israele, in ogni genere di offerte sacre; essa starà continuamente sulla sua fronte, per renderli graditi davanti all'Eterno.

And it shall be upon Aaron’s forehead that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the sons of Israel shall sanctify in all their holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his forehead that they may find grace before the LORD.

39 T esserai pure la tunica di lino fino, lavorata a maglia; farai un turbante di lino fino e farai una cintura, un lavoro di un ricamatore.

And thou shalt embroider the coat of fine linen, and thou shalt make the mitre of fine linen, and thou shalt make the girdle of needlework.

40 P er i figli di Aaronne farai delle tuniche, farai per loro delle cinture e farai per loro dei copricapo, per conferire loro onore e grazia.

¶ And for Aaron’s sons thou shalt make coats; thou shalt also make girdles for them, and tiaras shalt thou make for them, for honour and for beauty.

41 C on esse rivestirai quindi tuo fratello Aaronne e i suoi figli con lui; tu li ungerai, li consacrerai e li santificherai, perché mi servano come sacerdoti.

And with these thou shalt clothe Aaron, thy brother, and his sons with him and shalt anoint them and fill their hands and sanctify them that they may be my priests.

42 F arai pure loro dei calzoni di lino per coprire la loro nudità; essi andranno dai lombi fino alle coscie.

And thou shalt make them linen underwear to cover their nakedness; they shall reach from the loins even unto the thighs;

43 A aronne e i suoi figli li porteranno quando entreranno nella tenda di convegno, o quando si avvicineranno all'altare per fare servizio nel luogo santo, affinché non si rendano colpevoli e non muoiano. Questo è uno statuto perenne per lui e per i suoi discendenti dopo di lui».

And they shall be upon Aaron and upon his sons when they enter into the tabernacle of the testimony or when they come near unto the altar to serve in the sanctuary that they not bear iniquity and die: This shall be a perpetual statute unto him and his seed after him.
