1 « Al maestro del coro. Salmo di Davide. Cantico.» DIO si levi e siano dispersi i suoi nemici, e quelli che l'odiano fuggano davanti a lui.

¶ Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered; let those that hate him flee before him.

2 T u li disperderai come si dilegua il fumo, come la cera si scioglie davanti al fuoco, cosí periranno gli empi davanti a DIO.

As smoke is driven away; so drive them away: as wax melts before the fire, so shall the wicked perish at the presence of God.

3 M a i giusti si rallegreranno giubileranno davanti a DIO ed esulteranno con canti di gioia.

But the righteous shall be glad; they shall rejoice before God; they shall dance with joy.

4 C antate a DIO, cantate lodi al suo nome, preparate la via a colui che cavalca nei deserti; il suo nome è l'Eterno; esultate davanti a lui.

Sing unto God, sing psalms unto his name; extol him that rides upon the heavens by his name JAH and rejoice before him.

5 P adre degli orfani e difensore delle vedove è DIO nella sua santa dimora.

A father of the fatherless and a defender of the widows is God in his holy habitation.

6 D IO fa abitare il solitario in una famiglia libera i prigionieri e dà loro prosperità; ma i ribelli dimorano in terra riarsa.

God sets the solitary in families; he brings out those who are bound with chains, but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

7 O DIO, quando uscisti davanti al tuo popolo, quando tu marciasti attraverso il deserto, (Sela)

¶ O God, when thou didst go forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:

8 l a terra tremò; anche i cieli stillarono acqua alla presenza di DIO, lo stesso Sinai tremò alla presenza di DIO, al DIO d'Israele.

The earth shook, the heavens also dropped their rain at the presence of God; even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

9 T u hai riversato un'abbondante pioggia o DIO, e hai ridato vigore alla tua eredità.

Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, by which thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.

10 I l tuo gregge vi trovò una dimora, e nella tua bontà, o DIO, hai provveduto per i miseri.

Thy presence was in thy congregation; thou, O God, by thy goodness thou hast provided for the poor.

11 I l Signore annunciò la parola, e grande è stato il numero di quelli che l'hanno proclamata:

The Lord shall give a word; great shall be the host of the evangelists thereof.

12 « I re di eserciti fuggono precipitosamente, mentre quella che rimane a casa si divide il bottino.

Kings of armies fled apace, and she that dwells in the house divided the spoil.

13 A nche se siete rimasti a riposare fra gli ovili voi siete come le ali della colomba coperte d'argento e come le sue piume d'oro risplendente».

Though ye be cast among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver and her feathers with yellow gold.

14 Q uando l'Onnipotente disperse i re nel paese lo Tsalmon fu coperto di neve.

When the Almighty scattered the kings that were in her, she became white as the snow in Salmon.

15 U n monte di DIO è il monte di Bashan, un monte dalle molte cime è il monte di Bashan.

¶ The mountain of Bashan is the mountain of God; the mountain of Bashan is a high mountain.

16 O monti dalle molte cime, perché guardate con invidia il monte che DIO ha scelto per sua dimora? Sì, l'Eterno vi abiterà per sempre.

Why leap ye, ye high mountains? This is the mountain which God desires to dwell in; yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever.

17 I carri di DIO sono miriadi e migliaia di migliaia, il Signore è fra di essi come al Sinai, nella sua SANTITA'.

The chariots of God are two thousand, thousands of angels; the Lord is among them as in Sinai, in the sanctuary.

18 T u sei salito in alto, hai fatto prigioniera la prigionia, hai ricevuto doni fra gli uomini anche fra i ribelli, affinché tu, o Eterno DIO, possa dimorare là.

Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive; thou hast received gifts for men, yea, for the rebellious also that the LORD God might dwell among them.

19 B enedetto sia il Signore, che giorno per giorno porta per noi i nostri pesi; egli è il DIO della nostra salvezza.

Blessed be the Lord, who daily lades us with benefits, even the God of our saving health. Selah.

20 D IO è per noi il DIO che libera, e all'Eterno, il Signore, appartiene la liberazione dalla morte.

He that is our God is the God of salvation, and unto GOD the Lord belongs the way of escape from death.

21 S ì, DIO schiaccerà il capo dei suoi nemici, la testa chiomata di chi cammina nel suo peccato.

Surely God shall smite the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such a one as goes on still in his trespasses.

22 I l Signore ha detto: «Li farò tornare da Bashan, li farò tornare dagli abissi del mare

¶ The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea:

23 a ffinchè tu possa stritolare i tuoi nemici, affondando il tuo piede nel loro sangue, e la lingua dei tuoi cani ne abbia la sua parte».

Thy foot shall be dipped in the blood of thine enemies and the tongue of thy dogs in the same.

24 E ssi hanno visto il tuo corteo, o DIO, il corteo del mio DIO del mio Re nel santuario.

They have seen thy ways, O God, even the ways of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.

25 A vanti andavano i cantori per ultimi venivano i suonatori, e nel mezzo stavano le fanciulle che battevano i tamburelli.

The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; in between them were the virgins playing with timbrels.

26 B enedite DIO nelle assemblee, benedite il Signore voi che siete della fonte d'Israele.

Bless ye God in the congregations, even the Lord, ye of the lineage of Israel.

27 E cco, Beniamino il piú piccolo ma loro condottiero, i principi di Giuda con le loro schiere, i principi di Zabulon, i principi di Neftali.

There was little Benjamin as their ruler, the princes of Judah in their congregation, the princes of Zebulun and the princes of Naphtali.

28 I l tuo DIO ha stabilito la tua forza; consolida, o DIO, quanto hai fatto per noi.

Thy God has commanded thy strength; confirm, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.

29 A motivo del tuo tempio a Gerusalemme, i re ti porteranno doni.

From thy temple in Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.

30 S grida la bestia dei canneti, il branco dei tori con i vitelli dei popoli, fino a che si umilino a portare verghe d'argento disperdi i popoli che si dilettano in guerre.

Reprehend the company of spearmen, the multitude of the strong, with the lords of the peoples, trampling them underfoot with their pieces of silver; Destroy thou the peoples that delight in war.

31 D all'Egitto porteranno metallo splendente, l'Etiopia si affretterà a tendere le sue mani a DIO.

Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.

32 O regni della terra, cantate a DIO; cantate le lodi al Signore, (Sela)

¶ Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord Selah:

33 a colui che cavalca sopra i cieli dei cieli eterni; ecco, egli manda fuori la sua voce, una voce potente.

To him that rides upon the heavens of the heavens which were of old; behold, he shall send forth his voice, his mighty voice.

34 R iconoscete la potenza di DIO, la sua maestà è sopra Israele e la sua potenza è nei cieli.

Ascribe ye strength unto God; his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.

35 O DIO, tu sei tremendo dal tuo santuario; il DIO d'Israele è quello che dà forza e vigore al popolo. Benedetto sia DIO!

O God, thou art terrible out of thy sanctuaries; the God of Israel is he that gives strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.
