1 « Salmo di Salomone.» O DIO, dai tuoi giudizi al re e la tua giustizia al figlio del re,

¶ Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king’s son.

2 e d egli giudicherà il tuo popolo con giustizia e i tuoi afflitti con rettitudine.

¶ He shall judge thy people with righteousness and thy poor with judgment.

3 I monti porteranno pace al popolo e i colli giustizia.

The mountains shall bring peace to the people and the little hills by righteousness.

4 E gli farà giustizia agli afflitti del popolo, salverà i figli del bisognoso e schiaccerà l'oppressore.

He shall judge the poor of the people; he shall save the children of the destitute and shall break in pieces the violent.

5 E ssi ti temeranno finché dureranno il sole e la luna, per tutte le generazioni.

They shall fear thee along with the sun and before the moon throughout all generations.

6 E gli scenderà come pioggia sull'erba falciata, come un acquazzone che annaffia la terra.

He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass as the dew that waters the earth.

7 N ei suoi giorni il giusto fiorirà e vi sarà abbondanza di pace finché non vi sia piú luna.

In his days shall righteousness flourish and abundance of peace until there is no longer any moon.

8 E gli regnerà da un mare all'altro e dal fiume fino alle estremità della terra.

He shall have dominion also from sea to sea and from the river unto the ends of the earth.

9 G li abitanti del deserto s'inchineranno davanti a lui, e i suoi nemici leccheranno la polvere.

Those that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him, and his enemies shall lick the dust.

10 I re di Tarshish e delle isole gli pagheranno il tributo, i re di Sceba e di Saba gli offriranno doni.

The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents; the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

11 S í, tutti i re lo adoreranno e tutte le nazioni lo serviranno

Yea, all kings shall fall down before him; all Gentiles shall serve him.

12 P oiché egli libererà il bisognoso che grida, e il misero che non ha chi lo aiuti.

For he shall deliver the destitute when he cries and the poor that has no helper.

13 E gli avrà compassione del debole e del bisognoso e salverà la vita dei bisognosi.

He shall have mercy on the poor and destitute and shall save the souls of the poor in spirit.

14 E gli riscatterà la loro vita dall'oppressione e dalla violenza, e il loro sangue sarà prezioso davanti a lui.

He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence, and precious shall their blood be in his sight.

15 E d egli vivrà; e gli sarà dato l'oro di Sceba, si pregherà per lui del continuo, e sarà benedetto tutto il giorno.

And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba; prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily he shall be given blessings.

16 V i sarà abbondanza di grano sulla terra, sulla sommità dei monti; le sue spighe ondeggeranno come gli alberi del Libano, e gli abitanti delle città fioriranno come l'erba della terra.

There shall be planted a handful of grain in the earth upon the tops of the mountains; its fruit shall thunder like Lebanon; and out of the city they shall blossom like the grass of the earth.

17 I l suo nome durerà in eterno, il suo nome sarà propagato finché vi sarà il sole; e tutte le nazioni saranno benedette in lui e lo proclameranno beato.

His name shall endure for ever; before the sun his name shall be disseminated, and all Gentiles shall be blessed in him; they shall call him blessed.

18 B enedetto sia l'Eterno DIO, il DIO d'Israele; egli solo fa meraviglie.

¶ Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, the only one who does wondrous things

19 S ia benedetto in eterno il suo nome glorioso, e tutta la terra sia ripiena della sua gloria, Amen, amen.

And blessed be his glorious name for ever, and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.
