¶ I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.

2 I nostri piedi si sono fermati entro le tue porte, o Gerusalemme.

Our feet stood within thy gates, O Jerusalem.

3 G erusalemme è costruita come una città ben compatta,

Jerusalem, that one which is built as a city that is well united together

4 d ove salgono le tribú, le tribú dell'Eterno, per celebrare il nome dell'Eterno.

Because the tribes went up there, the tribes of JAH, the testimony to Israel, to praise the name of the LORD.

5 P oiché là sono posti i troni per il giudizio, i troni della casa di Davide.

For there are set thrones of the judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

6 P regate per la pace di Gerusalemme: prosperino quelli che ti amano.

¶ Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; those that love thee shall be brought into rest.

7 C i sia pace entro le tue mura e prosperità nei tuoi palazzi.

Peace be within thy walls and rest within thy palaces.

8 P er amore dei miei fratelli e dei miei amici ora dirò: «Sia pace in te».

For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

9 P er amore della casa dell'Eterno, il nostro DIO, io cercherò il tuo bene.

Because of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek thy good.
