1 L 'Eterno regna; egli si è rivestito di maestà, l'Eterno si è ammantato, si è cinto di forza. Sí, il mondo è stabile, non sarà mai smosso.

¶ The LORD reigns; he has clothed himself with majesty; the LORD has clothed himself with strength; he has girded himself: he has established the world also, that it cannot be moved.

2 I l tuo trono è saldo da sempre; tu sei da sempre.

From this time on, thy throne shall never be moved; thou art eternal.

3 I fiumi hanno elevato, o Eterno, i fiumi hanno elevato la loro voce; i fiumi hanno elevato le loro onde fragorose;

The rivers have lifted up, O LORD; the rivers have lifted up their voice; the rivers lift up their waves.

4 m a l'Eterno nei luoghi altissimi è piú potente delle voci delle grandi acque, piú potente dei flutti del mare.

The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.

5 I tuoi statuti sono oltremodo stabili. La SANTITA' si addice alla tua casa, o Eterno, per sempre.

Thy testimonies are very sure; holiness becomes thy house, O LORD, for ever.
