1 L 'Eterno regna; gioisca la terra e si rallegrino le grandi isole.

¶ The LORD reigns; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.

2 N uvole e tenebre lo avvolgono; giustizia e diritto sono a base del suo trono.

Clouds and darkness are round about him; righteousness and judgment are the seat of his throne.

3 U n fuoco lo precede e consuma i suoi nemici tutt'intorno.

A fire shall go before him and burn up his enemies round about.

4 I suoi lampi illuminano il mondo, Ia terra li vede e trema,

His lightnings enlightened the world; the earth saw and trembled.

5 I monti si sciolgono come cera davanti all'Eterno, davanti al Signore di tutta la terra.

The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

6 I cieli proclamano la sua giustizia e tutti i popoli vedono la sua gloria.

The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory.

7 S iano tutti confusi quelli che servono le sculture e quelli che si vantano degli idoli; si prostrino davanti a lui tutti gli dèi.

Let all those that serve graven images be confounded, those that boast of idols; worship him, all ye gods.

8 S ion ha udito e ne ha gioito, e le figlie di Giuda si sono rallegrate per i tuoi giudizi, o Eterno.

¶ Zion heard and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O LORD.

9 P oiché tu, o Eterno, sei l'Altissimo su tutta la terra, tu sei grandemente esaltato al di sopra di tutti gli dèi.

For thou, O LORD, art high above all the earth; thou art exalted far above all gods.

10 V oi che amate l'Eterno odiate il male! Egli custodisce la vita dei suoi santi e li libera dalla mano degli empi.

Ye that love the LORD are to hate evil; he preserves the souls of his saints; he delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

11 L a luce è sorta per il giusto e la gioia per i retti di cuore.

Light is sown for the righteous and gladness for the upright in heart.

12 R allegratevi nell'Eterno, o giusti, e lodate il suo santo nome.

Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
