1 L 'Eterno parlò a Mosè dopo la morte dei due figli di Aaronne, che morirono quando si presentarono davanti all'Eterno con fuoco illecito.

¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they came near before the LORD and died;

2 L 'Eterno disse a Mosè: «Parla ad Aaronne, tuo fratello, e digli di non entrare in qualsiasi tempo nel santuario, di là dal velo, davanti al propiziatorio che è sull'arca, perché non abbia a morire, poiché io apparirò nella nuvola sul propiziatorio.

and the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron, thy brother, that he not enter at all times into the sanctuary inside the veil before the seat of reconciliation, which is upon the ark, that he not die; for I will appear in the cloud above the seat of reconciliation.

3 A aronne entrerà nel santuario in questo modo: prederà un torello per il sacrificio per il peccato e un montone per l'olocausto.

Thus shall Aaron come into the holy place: with a young bullock as sin and a ram as a burnt offering.

4 S i metterà la tunica sacra di lino e porterà sul suo corpo i calzoni di lino; si cingerà della cintura di lino e avrà in capo il turbante di lino. Queste sono le vesti sacre; egli le indosserà dopo essersi lavato il corpo nell'acqua.

He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen underwear upon his flesh and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he cover himself. These are holy garments; and he shall wash his flesh with water and put them on.

5 D all'assemblea dei figli d'Israele prenderà due capri per il sacrificio per il peccato e un montone per l'olocausto.

¶ And he shall take of the congregation of the sons of Israel two he goats as the sin and one ram as a burnt offering.

6 A aronne offrirà il torello del sacrificio per il peccato, che è per se, e farà l'espiazione per se e per la propria casa.

And Aaron shall cause the bullock of his sin to be brought, and make reconciliation for himself and for his house.

7 P oi prenderà i due capri e li presenterà davanti all'Eterno all'ingresso della tenda di convegno.

After that, he shall take the two goats and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony.

8 A aronne tirerà quindi a sorte i due capri: uno sarà destinato all'Eterno e l'altro per capro espiatorio.

And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two he goats, one lot for the LORD and the other lot for Azazel.

9 A aronne farà avvicinare il capro che è stato destinato all'Eterno e l'offrirà come sacrificio per il peccato;

And Aaron shall cause the he goat upon which the LORD’s lot fell to be brought and offer him for the sin.

10 m a il capro che è stato destinato ad essere il capro espiatorio, sarà presentato vivo davanti all'Eterno, per fare su di esso l'espiazione e per mandarlo poi nel deserto come capro espiatorio.

But the he goat on which the lot fell for Azazel shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make the reconciliation upon him and to send him to Azazel into the wilderness.

11 A aronne offrirà dunque il torello del sacrificio per il peccato per se e farà l'espiazione per se e per la propria casa; e scannerà il torello del sacrificio per il peccato per se.

And Aaron shall cause the bullock of his own sin to be brought and shall make the reconciliation for himself and for his house and shall kill the bullock of his own sin.

12 P oi prenderà un turibolo pieno di carboni accesi tolti dall'altare davanti all'Eterno e avrà le sue mani piene di incenso profumato in polvere, e porterà ogni cosa di là dal velo.

After that he shall take the censer full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD and his hands full of aromatic incense beaten small and bring it inside the veil.

13 M etterà l'incenso sul fuoco davanti all'Eterno perché la nuvola dell'incenso copra il propiziatorio che è sulla testimonianza; così egli non morirà.

And he shall put the incense upon the fire before the LORD, and the cloud of the incense shall cover the seat of reconciliation that is upon the testimony, and he shall not die.

14 P oi prenderà del sangue del torello e lo spruzzerà col suo dito sul propiziatorio dal lato est; spruzzerà pure un po' di sangue col suo dito davanti al propiziatorio sette volte.

Then he shall take of the blood of the bullock and sprinkle it with his finger towards the seat of reconciliation eastward; towards the seat of reconciliation he shall sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.

15 P oi scannerà il capro del sacrificio per il peccato, che è per il popolo, e ne porterà il sangue di là dal velo; e farà con questo sangue ciò che ha fatto col sangue del torello; lo spruzzerà sul propiziatorio e davanti al propiziatorio.

¶ After that, he shall kill the goat of the sin of the people and bring its blood inside the veil and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock and sprinkle it upon the seat of reconciliation and before the seat of reconciliation;

16 C osì farà l'espiazione per il santuario, a motivo delle impurità dei figli d'Israele, delle loro trasgressioni e di tutti i loro peccati. Lo stesso farà per la tenda di convegno che rimane fra loro, in mezzo alle loro impurità.

and he shall cleanse the sanctuary of the uncleanness of the sons of Israel and of their rebellions and of all their sins; in the same manner so shall he do for the tabernacle of the testimony, which dwells among them in the midst of their uncleanness.

17 N ella tenda di convegno, quando egli entrerà nel santuario per fare l'espiazione, non ci sarà alcuno, finché egli sia uscito ed abbia fatto l'espiazione per sé, per la propria casa e per tutta l'assemblea d'Israele.

And no man shall be in the tabernacle of the testimony when he enters in to make reconciliation in the sanctuary until he comes out and has made reconciliation for himself and for his household and for all the congregation of Israel.

18 E gli uscirà verso l'altare che è davanti all'Eterno e farà l'espiazione per esso: prenderà del sangue del torello e del sangue del capro e lo metterà sui corni dell'altare tutt'intorno.

And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the LORD and reconcile it and shall take of the blood of the bullock and of the blood of the he goat and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.

19 P oi spruzzerà del sangue su di esso col suo dito sette volte; così lo purificherà e lo santificherà dalle impurità dei figli d'Israele.

And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times and cleanse it and sanctify it from the uncleanness of the sons of Israel.

20 Q uando avrà finito di fare l'espiazione per il santuario, per la tenda di convegno e per l'altare, farà avvicinare il capro vivo.

¶ And when he has made an end of reconciling the sanctuary and the tabernacle of the testimony and the altar, he shall cause the live he goat to be brought;

21 A aronne poserà entrambe le sue mani sulla testa del capro vivo e confesserà su di esso tutte le iniquità dei figli d'Israele tutte le loro trasgressioni, tutti i loro peccati, e li metterà sulla testa del capro; lo manderà poi nel deserto per mezzo di un uomo appositamente scelto.

and Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live he goat and confess over it all the iniquities of the sons of Israel and all their rebellions and all their sins, putting them thus upon the head of the he goat and shall send him away into the wilderness by the hand of a man prepared for this;

22 I l capro porterà su di sé tutte le loro iniquità in terra solitaria; e quell'uomo lo lascerà andare nel deserto.

and that he goat shall bear upon itself all their iniquities unto an uninhabitable land; and he shall send the he goat into the wilderness.

23 P oi Aaronne entrerà nella tenda di convegno, si spoglierà delle vesti di lino che aveva indossate per entrare nel santuario e le lascerà li.

After that, Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of the testimony and shall put off the linen garments, which he put on to enter into the sanctuary, and shall put them there.

24 E laverà il suo corpo nell'acqua in un luogo santo, indosserà le sue vesti e uscirà ad offrire il suo olocausto e l'olocausto del popolo, e farà l'espiazione per sé e per il popolo.

Then he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place and put on his garments and come forth after that and make his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people and make reconciliation for himself and for the people.

25 F arà quindi fumare sull'altare il grasso del sacrificio per il peccato.

And the fat of the sin he shall incense upon the altar.

26 C olui che ha lasciato andare il capro, scelto come capro espiatorio, laverà le sue vesti e laverà il suo corpo nell'acqua e, dopo questo, potrà rientrare nell'accampamento.

And he that took the he goat to Azazel shall wash his clothes and bathe his flesh with water and afterward come into the camp.

27 S i porterà quindi fuori dell'accampamento il torello del sacrificio per il peccato e il capro del sacrificio per il peccato, il cui sangue è stato portato nel santuario per fare l'espiazione; e bruceranno nel fuoco le loro pelli, la carne e i loro escrementi.

And he shall take outside the camp the bullock of the sin and the goat of the sin, whose blood was brought in to make the reconciliation in the sanctuary; and they shall burn in the fire their skins and their flesh and their dung.

28 P oi colui che li brucia laverà le sue vesti e laverà il suo corpo nell'acqua; dopo questo, egli potrà rientrare nell'accampamento.

And he that burns them shall wash his clothes and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.

29 Q uesta sarà per voi una legge perpetua: nel settimo mese, il decimo giorno del mese, umilierete le anime vostre e non farete alcun lavoro, né il nativo del paese, né il forestiero che risiede fra voi.

¶ And you shall hold this as a perpetual statute: In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls and do no work at all, whether it is a natural of your own country or a stranger that sojourns among you;

30 P oiché in quel giorno il sacerdote farà l'espiazione per voi, per purificarvi, affinché siate purificati da tutti i vostri peccati davanti all'Eterno.

for on that day he shall reconcile you to cleanse you that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD.

31 E ' per voi un sabato di riposo solenne e voi umilierete le anime vostre; è una legge perpetua.

It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a perpetual statute.

32 I l sacerdote, che è stato unto ed è stato consacrato per servire come sacerdote al posto di suo padre, farà l'espiazione e indosserà le vesti di lino, le vesti sacre.

And the reconciliation shall be made by the priest who is anointed and whose hand has been filled to be priest in the place of his father; and he shall put on the linen clothes, the holy garments;

33 E gli farà l'espiazione per il santuario santo; farà l'espiazione per la tenda di convegno e per l'altare, e farà l'espiazione per i sacerdoti e per tutto il popolo dell'assemblea.

and he shall reconcile the holy sanctuary and reconcile the tabernacle of the testimony; he shall also reconcile the altar and the priests and all the people of the congregation.

34 Q uesta sarà per voi una legge perpetua, per fare l'espiazione per i figli d'Israele per tutti i loro peccati, una volta all'anno». E Mosè fece come l'Eterno gli aveva comandato.

And you shall hold this as a perpetual statute to reconcile the sons of Israel of all their sins once a year. And Moses did as the LORD commanded him.
