1 O r questi sono i re del paese sconfitti dai figli d'Israele, che presero possesso del loro territorio di là dal Giordano, verso l'est, dal torrente Arnon fino al monte Hermon e tutta l'Arabah orientale:

¶ Now these are the kings of the land which the sons of Israel smote and possessed their land on the other side of the Jordan toward the rising of the sun from the river Arnon unto Mount Hermon and all the plain on the east:

2 S ihon, re degli Amorei, che abitava a Heshbon e dominava da Aroer, che è sulle sponde del fiume Harnon, da metà del fiume e da metà di Galaad, fino al fiume Jabbok, confine dei figli di Ammon;

Sihon, king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and ruled from Aroer, which is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and from the midst of the river and from half of Gilead, even unto the river Jabbok, which is the border of the sons of Ammon,

3 e nella parte orientale dell'Arabah dal mare di Kinnereth fino al mare dell'Arabah, il Mar Salato fino a Beth Jescimoth, e a sud fino sotto le pendici del Pisgah.

and from the plain to the sea of Chinneroth on the east and unto the sea of the plain, the salt sea on the east, by the way to Bethjeshimoth, and from the Negev, under Ashdothpisgah.

4 P oi il territorio di Og re di Bashan, uno dei superstiti dei giganti, che abitava ad Ashtaroth e a Edrei,

And the borders of Og, king of Bashan, who was of the remnant of the Rephaim, that dwelt at Ashtaroth and at Edrei,

5 e dominava sul monte Hermon, su Salkah, su tutto Bashan fino al confine dei Gheshuriti e dei Maakathiti, e sulla metà di Galaad fino al confine di Sihon re di Heshbon.

and reigned in Mount Hermon and in Salcah and in all Bashan unto the borders of the Geshur and Maachath and half of Gilead, the border of Sihon, king of Heshbon.

6 M osè, servo dell'Eterno, e i figli d'Israele li sconfissero; quindi Mosè, servo dell'Eterno, diede il loro paese come possesso ai Rubeniti, ai Gaditi e a metà della tribú di Manasse.

These did Moses, the slave of the LORD, and the sons of Israel smite; and Moses, the slave of the LORD, gave that land in possession unto the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half tribe of Manasseh.

7 Q uesti invece sono i re del paese che Giosuè e i figli d'Israele sconfissero di qua dal Giordano, a ovest, da Baal-Gad nella valle del Libano fino al monte Halak che si eleva verso Seir, paese che Giosuè diede in possesso alle tribú d'Israele, secondo le loro divisioni,

¶ And these are the kings of the land which Joshua and the sons of Israel smote on this side of the Jordan on the west from Baalgad in the plains of Lebanon even unto Mount Halak that goes up to Seir, which Joshua gave unto the tribes of Israel for a possession according to their divisions,

8 n ella regione montuosa, nel bassopiano, nell'Arabah, sulle pendici dei monti, nel deserto e nel Neghev; il paese degli Hittei, degli Amorei, dei Cananei, dei Perezei, degli Hivvei e dei Gebusei:

in the mountains and in the valleys and in the plains and in the springs and in the wilderness and towards the Negev: the Hittite, the Amorite, and the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite,
