1 P er il resto, fratelli miei, rallegratevi nel Signore; per me certo non è gravoso scrivervi le stesse cose, e per voi è una salvaguardia.

¶ It remains, my brethren, that ye rejoice in the Lord. It does not bother me to write the same things to you, and for you it is safe.

2 G uardatevi dai cani, guardatevi dai cattivi operai, guardatevi da quelli che si fanno mutilare.

Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.

3 I veri circoncisi infatti siamo noi che serviamo Dio nello Spirito e ci gloriamo in Cristo Gesú senza confidarci nella carne,

For we are the circumcision, who serve God in spirit and glory in Christ Jesus, having no confidence in the flesh.

4 b enché io avessi di che confidare anche nella carne; se qualcuno pensa di avere di che confidare, io ne ho molto di piu:

¶ Though I might also have reason to confide in the flesh. If any other man thinks that he has whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:

5 s ono stato circonciso l'ottavo giorno, sono della nazione d'Israele, della tribú di Beniamino, Ebreo di Ebrei quanto alla legge, fariseo,

Circumcised the eighth day, of the lineage of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee;

6 q uanto allo zelo, persecutore della chiesa; quanto alla giustizia che è nella legge, irreprensibile,

concerning zeal, a persecutor of the congregation; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

7 M a le cose che mi erano guadagno, le ho ritenute una perdita per Cristo.

But those things which were gain to me, I counted loss for Christ.

8 A nzi, ritengo anche tutte queste cose essere una perdita di fronte all'eccellenza della conoscenza di Cristo Gesú mio Signore, per il quale ho perso tutte queste cose e le ritengo come tanta spazzatura per guadagnare Cristo,

And doubtless I even count all things as loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ

9 e per essere trovato in lui, avendo non già la mia giustizia che deriva dalla legge, ma quella che deriva dalla fede di Cristo: giustizia che proviene da Dio mediante la fede,

¶ and be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

10 p er conoscere lui, Cristo la potenza della sua risurrezione e la comunione delle sue sofferenze, essendo reso conforme alla sua morte,

That I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death,

11 s e in qualche modo possa giungere alla risurrezione dai morti.

if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

12 N on che io abbia già ottenuto il premio, o sia già arrivato al compimento, ma proseguo per poter afferrare il premio, poiché anch'io sono stato afferrato da Gesú Cristo.

Not as though I had already attained it, either were already perfect, but I follow after, if I may lay hold of that for which I have also been laid hold of by the Christ, Jesus.

13 F ratelli, non ritengo di avere già ottenuto il premio, ma faccio una cosa: dimenticando le cose che stanno dietro e protendendomi verso le cose che stanno davanti,

Brethren, I do not reckon to have laid hold of it yet, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and extending myself unto those things which are ahead,

14 p roseguo il corso verso la méta verso il premio della suprema vocazione di Dio in Cristo Gesú.

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Q uanti siamo perfetti, abbiamo dunque questi pensieri; e se voi pensate altrimenti in qualche cosa, Dio vi rivelerà anche questo.

¶ Let us, therefore, as many as are perfect, be thus minded; and if in anything ye are otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

16 M a al punto in cui siamo arrivati, camminiamo secondo la stessa regola di condotta in pieno accordo.

Nevertheless, in that unto which we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us have the same mind.

17 S iate miei imitatori, fratelli, e considerate coloro che camminano cosí, secondo l'esempio che avete in noi.

¶ Brethren, be imitators of me and consider those who so walk, as ye have us for a pattern.

18 P oiché molti, dei quali vi ho spesse volte parlato, e anche al presente ve lo dico piangendo, camminano da nemici della croce di Cristo,

(For many walk, of whom I have told you often and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ;

19 l a cui fine è la perdizione, il cui dio è il ventre e la cui gloria è a loro vergogna; essi hanno la mente rivolta alle cose della terra.

whose end shall be perdition, whose God is their belly and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things).

20 L a nostra cittadinanza infatti è nei cieli, da dove aspettiamo pure il Salvatore, il Signor Gesú Cristo,

For our citizenship is in heaven, from where we also look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

21 i l quale trasformerà il nostro umile corpo, affinché sia reso conforme al suo corpo glorioso, secondo la sua potenza che lo mette in grado di sottoporre a sé tutte le cose.

Who shall transform our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto the body of his glory, according to the working by which he is also able to subdue all things unto himself.
