1 A s to the rest, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord; the same things to write to you to me indeed is not tiresome, and for you sure;
¶ It remains, my brethren, that ye rejoice in the Lord. It does not bother me to write the same things to you, and for you it is safe.
2 l ook to the dogs, look to the evil-workers, look to the concision;
Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
3 f or we are the circumcision, who by the Spirit are serving God, and glorying in Christ Jesus, and in flesh having no trust,
For we are the circumcision, who serve God in spirit and glory in Christ Jesus, having no confidence in the flesh.
4 t hough I also have trust in flesh. If any other one doth think to have trust in flesh, I more;
¶ Though I might also have reason to confide in the flesh. If any other man thinks that he has whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
5 c ircumcision on the eighth day! of the race of Israel! of the tribe of Benjamin! a Hebrew of Hebrews! according to law a Pharisee!
Circumcised the eighth day, of the lineage of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee;
6 a ccording to zeal persecuting the assembly! according to righteousness that is in law becoming blameless!
concerning zeal, a persecutor of the congregation; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
7 B ut what things were to me gains, these I have counted, because of the Christ, loss;
But those things which were gain to me, I counted loss for Christ.
8 y es, indeed, and I count all things to be loss, because of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, because of whom of the all things I suffered loss, and do count them to be refuse, that Christ I may gain, and be found in him,
And doubtless I even count all things as loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ
9 n ot having my righteousness, which of law, but that which through faith of Christ -- the righteousness that is of God by the faith,
¶ and be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
10 t o know him, and the power of his rising again, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death,
That I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death,
11 i f anyhow I may attain to the rising again of the dead.
if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
12 N ot that I did already obtain, or have been already perfected; but I pursue, if also I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by the Christ Jesus;
Not as though I had already attained it, either were already perfect, but I follow after, if I may lay hold of that for which I have also been laid hold of by the Christ, Jesus.
13 b rethren, I do not reckon myself to have laid hold; and one thing -- the things behind indeed forgetting, and to the things before stretching forth --
Brethren, I do not reckon to have laid hold of it yet, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and extending myself unto those things which are ahead,
14 t o the mark I pursue for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15 A s many, therefore, as perfect -- let us think this, and if anything ye think otherwise, this also shall God reveal to you,
¶ Let us, therefore, as many as are perfect, be thus minded; and if in anything ye are otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
16 b ut to what we have come -- by the same rule walk, the same thing think;
Nevertheless, in that unto which we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us have the same mind.
17 b ecome followers together of me, brethren, and observe those thus walking, according as ye have us -- a pattern;
¶ Brethren, be imitators of me and consider those who so walk, as ye have us for a pattern.
18 f or many walk of whom many times I told you -- and now also weeping tell -- the enemies of the cross of the Christ!
(For many walk, of whom I have told you often and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ;
19 w hose end destruction, whose god the belly, and whose glory in their shame, who the things on earth are minding.
whose end shall be perdition, whose God is their belly and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things).
20 F or our citizenship is in the heavens, whence also a Saviour we await -- the Lord Jesus Christ --
For our citizenship is in heaven, from where we also look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21 w ho shall transform the body of our humiliation to its becoming conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working of his power, even to subject to himself the all things.
Who shall transform our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto the body of his glory, according to the working by which he is also able to subdue all things unto himself.
