1 B y David. Blessed Jehovah my rock, who is teaching My hands for war, my fingers for battle.

¶ Blessed be the LORD my strength, who trains my hands for the battle and my fingers for the war:

2 M y kind one, and my bulwark, My tower, and my deliverer, My shield, and in whom I have trusted, Who is subduing my people under me!

My mercy and my fortress; my high tower and my deliverer; my shield and he in whom I trust, who subdues my people under me.

3 J ehovah, what man that Thou knowest him? Son of man, that Thou esteemest him?

LORD, what is man that thou knowest him? or the son of man, that thou esteemeth him?

4 M an to vanity hath been like, His days as a shadow passing by.

Man is like unto vanity; his days are as a shadow that passes away.

5 J ehovah, incline Thy heavens and come down, Strike against mountains, and they smoke.

Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down; touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.

6 S end forth lightning, and scatter them, Send forth Thine arrows, and trouble them,

Cast forth lightning and scatter them; shoot out thine arrows and destroy them.

7 S end forth Thy hand from on high, Free me, and deliver me from many waters, From the hand of sons of a stranger,

Send thine hand from above; redeem me and deliver me out of many waters, from the hand of the strange sons,

8 B ecause their mouth hath spoken vanity, And their right hand a right hand of falsehood.

whose mouth speaks vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

9 O God, a new song I sing to Thee, On a psaltery of ten strings I sing praise to Thee.

¶ I will sing a new song unto thee, O God; upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings I will sing praises unto thee.

10 W ho is giving deliverance to kings, Who is freeing David His servant from the sword of evil.

Thou, he who gives salvation unto kings, who redeems David his slave from the evil sword.

11 F ree me, and deliver me From the hand of sons of a stranger, Because their mouth hath spoken vanity, And their right hand a right hand of falsehood,

Redeem me, and save me from the hand of strange sons, whose mouth speaks vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:

12 B ecause our sons as plants, Becoming great in their youth, Our daughters as hewn stones, Polished -- the likeness of a palace,

That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace;

13 O ur garners full, bringing out from kind to kind, Our flocks are bringing forth thousands, Ten thousands in our out-places,

that our garners may be full, affording all manner of store; that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets;

14 O ur oxen are carrying, there is no breach, And there is no outgoing, And there is no crying in our broad places.

that our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in nor going out; that there be no shout of alarm in our streets.

15 O the happiness of the people that is thus, O the happiness of the people whose God Jehovah!

Blessed is that people, that is in such a case; yea, blessed is that people, whose God is the LORD.
