1 P raise ye Jah! O the happiness of one fearing Jehovah, In His commands he hath delighted greatly.

¶ Aleph Halelu-JAH. Blessed is the man that fears the LORD, Beth that delights greatly in his commandments.

2 M ighty in the earth is his seed, The generation of the upright is blessed.

Gimel His seed shall be mighty upon earth; Daleth the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

3 W ealth and riches in his house, And his righteousness is standing for ever.

He Wealth and riches shall be in his house; Vau and his righteousness endures for ever.

4 L ight hath risen in darkness to the upright, Gracious, and merciful, and righteous.

Zain A light has shined in the darkness upon the upright: Cheth Gracious and merciful and righteous.

5 G ood the man -- gracious and lending, He sustaineth his matters in judgment.

Teth A good man has mercy and lends; Jod He will govern his affairs with good judgment.

6 F or -- to the age he is not moved; For a memorial age-during is the righteous.

¶ Caph Surely he shall not be moved for ever; Lamed the righteous shall be in eternal remembrance.

7 O f an evil report he is not afraid, Prepared is His heart, confident in Jehovah.

Mem He shall not be afraid of evil rumours; Nun his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

8 S ustained is his heart -- he feareth not, Till that he look on his adversaries.

Samech His heart is established; he shall not be afraid, Ain until he sees his desire upon his enemies.

9 H e hath scattered -- hath given to the needy, His righteousness is standing for ever, His horn is exalted with honour.

Pe He has dispersed; he has given to the poor; Tzaddi his righteousness endures for ever; Koph his horn shall be exalted in glory.

10 T he wicked seeth, and hath been angry, His teeth he gnasheth, and hath melted, The desire of the wicked doth perish!

Resh The wicked shall see it and be furious; Schin he shall gnash with his teeth and waste away: Tau The desire of the wicked shall perish.
