1 A nd this the blessing which Moses the man of God blessed the sons of Israel before his death,

¶ And this is the blessing, with which Moses the man of God blessed the sons of Israel before his death.

2 a nd he saith: -- `Jehovah from Sinai hath come, And hath risen from Seir for them; He hath shone from mount Paran, And hath come myriads of holy ones; At His right hand springs for them.

And he said, The LORD came from Sinai and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from Mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of holiness, at his right hand the law of fire for them.

3 A lso He loving the peoples; All His holy ones in thy hand, And they -- they sat down at thy foot, He lifteth up at thy words.

Yea, he loved the peoples; all his saints are in thy hand; they also united at thy feet; they received thy words.

4 A law hath Moses commanded us, A possession of the assembly of Jacob.

Moses commanded us law as inheritance unto the congregation of Jacob.

5 A nd he is in Jeshurun king, In the heads of the people gathering together, The tribes of Israel!

And he was king in Jeshurun when the heads of the people, the tribes of Israel, were gathered together as one.

6 L et Reuben live, and not die, And let his men be a number.

¶ Let Reuben live and not die, and let not his men be few.

7 A nd this for Judah; and he saith: -- Hear, O Jehovah, the voice of Judah, And unto his people do Thou bring him in; His hand hath striven for him, And an help from his adversaries art Thou.

And this blessing is for Judah, and he said, Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people; let his hands be sufficient for him, and be thou a help to him from his enemies.

8 A nd of Levi he said: -- Thy Thummim and thy Urim for thy pious one, Whom Thou hast tried in Massah, Thou dost strive with Him at the waters of Meribah;

¶ And to Levi he said, Let thy Thummim and thy Urim be with thy holy one, whom thou didst prove at Massah and with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah,

9 W ho is saying of his father and his mother, I have not seen him; And his brethren he hath not discerned, And his sons he hath not known; For they have observed Thy saying, And Thy covenant they keep.

who said unto his father and to his mother, I have not seen them; neither did he acknowledge his brethren nor know his own children; therefore, they shall keep thy word and guard thy covenant.

10 T hey teach Thy judgments to Jacob, And Thy law to Israel; They put perfume in Thy nose, And whole burnt-offering on Thine altar.

They shall teach Jacob thy judgments and Israel thy law; they shall put incense before thy nostrils and a perfect sacrifice upon thine altar.

11 B less, O Jehovah, his strength, And the work of his hands Thou acceptest, Smite the loins of his withstanders, And of those hating him -- that they rise not!

Bless, O LORD, his ministry, and take pleasure in the work of his hands; smite through the loins of those that rise up against him and of those that hate him that they may never rise again.

12 O f Benjamin he said: -- The beloved of Jehovah doth tabernacle confidently by him, Covering him over all the day; Yea, between his shoulders He doth tabernacle.

¶ And to Benjamin he said, The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him; and the LORD shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.

13 A nd of Joseph he said: -- Blessed of Jehovah his land, By precious things of the heavens, By dew, and by the deep crouching beneath,

And to Joseph he said, Blessed of the LORD is his land, for the gifts of the heavens, for the dew, and for the deep that is stretched out beneath,

14 A nd by precious things -- fruits of the sun, And by precious things -- cast forth by the moons,

and for the gifts of the fruits of the sun and for the gifts of the influence of the moon,

15 A nd by chief things -- of the ancient mountains, And by precious things -- of the age-during heights,

and for the summit of the ancient mountains and for the gifts of the everlasting hills,

16 A nd by precious things -- of earth and its fulness, And the good pleasure Of Him who is dwelling in the bush, -- Let it come for the head of Joseph, And for the crown of him Who is separate from his brethren.

and for the gifts of the earth and fullness thereof, and may the grace of him that dwelt in the bush come upon the head of Joseph and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.

17 H is honour a firstling of his ox, And his horns horns of a reem; By them peoples he doth push together To the ends of earth; And they the myriads of Ephraim, And they the thousands of Manasseh.

His beauty is like the firstborn of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns; with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth; these are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and these are the thousands of Manasseh.

18 A nd of Zebulun he said: -- Rejoice, O Zebulun, in thy going out, And, O Issachar, in thy tents;

¶ And to Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out; and thou, Issachar, in thy tents.

19 P eoples the mountain they call, There they sacrifice righteous sacrifices; For the abundance of the seas they suck, And hidden things hidden in the sand.

They shall call the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness; therefore they shall suck the abundance of the seas and hidden treasures of the sand.

20 A nd of Gad he said: -- Blessed of the Enlarger Gad, As a lioness he doth tabernacle, And hath torn the arm -- also the crown!

And to Gad he said, Blessed is he that caused Gad to be enlarged; he shall dwell as a lion and shall tear the arm with the crown of the head.

21 A nd he provideth the first part for himself, For there the portion of the lawgiver is covered, And he cometh the heads of the people; The righteousness of Jehovah he hath done, And His judgments with Israel.

And he saw the best for himself because there the portion of the lawgiver was enclosed; and he came at the head of the people; he shall execute the righteousness of the LORD and his judgments with Israel.

22 A nd of Dan he said: -- Dan a lion's whelp; he doth leap from Bashan.

¶ And to Dan he said, Dan is a lion’s whelp; he shall leap from Bashan.

23 A nd of Naphtali he said: -- O Naphtali, satisfied with pleasure, And full of the blessing of Jehovah, West and south possess thou.

And to Naphtali he said, Naphtali, filled with grace and full of the blessing of the LORD, shall inherit the west and the Negev.

24 A nd of Asher he said: -- Blessed with sons Asher, Let him be accepted by his brethren, And dipping in oil his foot.

And to Asher he said, Asher, more blessed than the sons, shall be acceptable unto his brethren and shall dip his foot in oil.

25 I ron and brass thy shoes, And as thy days -- thy strength.

Thy locks shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.

26 T here is none like the God of Jeshurun, Riding the heavens in thy help, And in His excellency the skies.

¶ There is no other like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rides upon the heavens for thy help, in the clouds with his excellency.

27 A habitation the eternal God, And beneath arms age-during. And He casteth out from thy presence the enemy, and saith, `Destroy!'

The habitation of God is eternal, and underneath the everlasting arms; he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee and shall say, Destroy them.

28 A nd Israel doth tabernacle confidence alone; The eye of Jacob unto a land of corn and wine; Also His heavens drop down dew.

Then Israel, the fountain of Jacob, shall dwell in safety alone in a land of grain and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.

29 O thy happiness, O Israel! who is like thee? A people saved by Jehovah, The shield of thy help, And He who the sword of thine excellency: And thine enemies are subdued for thee, And thou on their high places dost tread.'

Blessed art thou, O Israel, who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help and the sword of thy excellency? Thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee, and thou shalt tread upon their high places.
