1 A s to the rest, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord; the same things to write to you to me indeed is not tiresome, and for you sure;
For the rest, my brethren, rejoice in Lord: to write the same things to you, to me not irksome, and for you safe.
2 l ook to the dogs, look to the evil-workers, look to the concision;
See to dogs, see to evil workmen, see to the concision.
3 f or we are the circumcision, who by the Spirit are serving God, and glorying in Christ Jesus, and in flesh having no trust,
For we are the circumcision, who worship by Spirit of God, and boast in Christ Jesus, and do not trust in flesh.
4 t hough I also have trust in flesh. If any other one doth think to have trust in flesh, I more;
Though I have trust even in flesh; if any other think to trust in flesh, I rather:
5 c ircumcision on the eighth day! of the race of Israel! of the tribe of Benjamin! a Hebrew of Hebrews! according to law a Pharisee!
as to circumcision, the eighth day; of race of Israel, of tribe of Benjamin, Hebrew of Hebrews; as to law, a Pharisee;
6 a ccording to zeal persecuting the assembly! according to righteousness that is in law becoming blameless!
as to zeal, persecuting the assembly; as to righteousness which in law, found blameless;
7 B ut what things were to me gains, these I have counted, because of the Christ, loss;
but what things were gain to me these I counted, on account of Christ, loss.
8 y es, indeed, and I count all things to be loss, because of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, because of whom of the all things I suffered loss, and do count them to be refuse, that Christ I may gain, and be found in him,
But surely I count also all things to be loss on account of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, on account of whom I have suffered the loss of all, and count them to be filth, that I may gain Christ;
9 n ot having my righteousness, which of law, but that which through faith of Christ -- the righteousness that is of God by the faith,
and that I may be found in him, not having my righteousness, which on the principle of law, but that which is by faith of Christ, the righteousness which of God through faith,
10 t o know him, and the power of his rising again, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death,
to know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death,
11 i f anyhow I may attain to the rising again of the dead.
if any way I arrive at the resurrection from among dead.
12 N ot that I did already obtain, or have been already perfected; but I pursue, if also I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by the Christ Jesus;
Not that I have already obtained, or am already perfected; but I pursue, if also I may get possession, seeing that also I have been taken possession of by Christ.
13 b rethren, I do not reckon myself to have laid hold; and one thing -- the things behind indeed forgetting, and to the things before stretching forth --
Brethren, I do not count to have got possession myself; but one thing—forgetting the things behind, and stretching out to the things before,
14 t o the mark I pursue for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
I pursue, towards goal, for the prize of the calling on high of God in Christ Jesus.
15 A s many, therefore, as perfect -- let us think this, and if anything ye think otherwise, this also shall God reveal to you,
As many therefore as perfect, let us be thus minded; and if ye are any otherwise minded, this also God shall reveal to you.
16 b ut to what we have come -- by the same rule walk, the same thing think;
But whereto we have attained, walk in the same steps.
17 b ecome followers together of me, brethren, and observe those thus walking, according as ye have us -- a pattern;
Be imitators together of me, brethren, and fix your eyes on those walking thus as you have us for a model;
18 f or many walk of whom many times I told you -- and now also weeping tell -- the enemies of the cross of the Christ!
(for many walk of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19 w hose end destruction, whose god the belly, and whose glory in their shame, who the things on earth are minding.
whose end destruction, whose god the belly, and glory in their shame, who mind earthly things:)
20 F or our citizenship is in the heavens, whence also a Saviour we await -- the Lord Jesus Christ --
for our commonwealth has its existence in heavens, from which also we await the Lord Jesus Christ Saviour,
21 w ho shall transform the body of our humiliation to its becoming conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working of his power, even to subject to himself the all things.
who shall transform our body of humiliation into conformity to his body of glory, according to the working of power which he has even to subdue all things to himself.
