1 T hese are the journeys of the children of Israel, who went forth out of the land of Egypt according to their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.

¶ These are the journeys of the sons of Israel who went forth out of the land of Egypt with their hosts under the hand of Moses and Aaron.

2 A nd Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of Jehovah; and these are their journeys according to their goings out.

3 T hey journeyed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month. On the morrow after the passover the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.

5 A nd the children of Israel removed from Rameses, and encamped in Succoth.

And the sons of Israel removed from Rameses and pitched in Succoth.

6 A nd they removed from Succoth and encamped in Etham, which is at the end of the wilderness.

And they departed from Succoth and pitched in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness.

7 A nd they removed from Etham, and turned back to Pi-hahiroth, which is opposite Baal-Zephon, and encamped before Migdol.

And they removed from Etham and turned again unto Pihahiroth, which is before Baalzephon, and they pitched before Migdol.

8 A nd they removed from before Hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, and went three days' journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped in Marah.

And they departed from before Pihahiroth and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness and went three days’ journey in the wilderness of Etham and pitched in Marah.

9 A nd they removed from Marah, and came to Elim; and in Elim were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm-trees, and they encamped there.

10 A nd they removed from Elim, and encamped by the Red sea.

19 A nd they removed from Rithmah, and encamped at Rimmon-perez.

And they departed from Rithmah and pitched at Rimmonparez.

20 A nd they removed from Rimmon-perez, and encamped in Libnah.

And they departed from Rimmonparez and pitched in Libnah.

21 A nd they removed from Libnah, and encamped at Rissah.

And they removed from Libnah and pitched at Rissah.

22 A nd they removed from Rissah, and encamped in Kehelathah.

And they journeyed from Rissah and pitched in Kehelathah.

23 A nd they removed from Kehelathah, and encamped in mount Shapher.

And they went from Kehelathah and pitched in Mount Shapher.

24 A nd they removed from mount Shapher, and encamped in Haradah.

And they removed from Mount Shapher and encamped in Haradah.

25 A nd they removed from Haradah, and encamped in Makheloth.

And they removed from Haradah and pitched in Makheloth.

26 A nd they removed from Makheloth, and encamped at Tahath.

And they removed from Makheloth and encamped at Tahath.

27 A nd they removed from Tahath, and encamped at Terah.

And they departed from Tahath and pitched at Tarah.

28 A nd they removed from Terah, and encamped in Mithcah.

And they removed from Tarah and pitched in Mithcah.

29 A nd they removed from Mithcah, and encamped in Hashmonah.

And they went from Mithcah and pitched in Hashmonah.

30 A nd they removed from Hashmonah, and encamped in Moseroth.

And they departed from Hashmonah and encamped at Moseroth.

31 A nd they removed from Moseroth, and encamped in Bene-Jaakan.

And they departed from Moseroth and pitched in Benejaakan.

32 A nd they removed from Bene-Jaakan, and encamped at Hor-hagidgad.

And they removed from Benejaakan and encamped at Horhagidgad.

33 A nd they removed from Hor-hagidgad, and encamped in Jotbathah.

And they went from Horhagidgad and pitched in Jotbathah.

34 A nd they removed from Jotbathah, and encamped at Abronah.

And they removed from Jotbathah and encamped at Ebronah.

35 A nd they removed from Abronah, and encamped at Ezion-geber.

And they departed from Ebronah and encamped at Eziongaber.

36 A nd they removed from Ezion-geber, and encamped in the wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh.

And they removed from Eziongaber and pitched in the wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh.

37 A nd they removed from Kadesh, and encamped in mount Hor, in the border of the land of Edom.

And they removed from Kadesh and pitched in Mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.

38 A nd Aaron the priest went up mount Hor by the commandment of Jehovah, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first of the month.

And Aaron, the priest, went up into Mount Hor at the commandment of the LORD and died there in the fortieth year, after the sons of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the first day of the fifth month.

39 A nd Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on mount Hor.

And Aaron was one hundred and twenty-three years old when he died in Mount Hor.

40 A nd the Canaanite, the king of Arad who dwelt in the south in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel.

And King Arad, the Canaanite, who dwelt in the Negev in the land of Canaan, heard how the sons of Israel had come.

41 A nd they removed from mount Hor, and encamped in Zalmonah.

And they departed from Mount Hor and pitched in Zalmonah.

42 A nd they removed from Zalmonah, and encamped in Punon.

And they departed from Zalmonah and pitched in Punon.

43 A nd they removed from Punon, and encamped in Oboth.

And they departed from Punon and pitched in Oboth.

44 A nd they removed from Oboth, and encamped in Ijim-Abarim, in the border of Moab.

And they departed from Oboth and pitched in Ijeabarim, in the border of Moab.

45 A nd they removed from Ijim, and encamped in Dibon-Gad.

And they departed from Iim and pitched in Dibongad.

46 A nd they removed from Dibon-Gad, and encamped in Almon-Diblathaim.

And they removed from Dibongad and encamped in Almondiblathaim.

47 A nd they removed from Almon-Diblathaim, and encamped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.

And they removed from Almondiblathaim and pitched in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.

48 A nd they removed from the mountains of Abarim, and encamped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan of Jericho.

And they departed from the mountains of Abarim and pitched in the plains of Moab by Jordan of Jericho.

49 A nd they encamped by the Jordan, from Beth-jeshimoth unto Abel-Shittim, in the plains of Moab.

Finally they pitched by the Jordan, from Bethjesimoth even unto Abelshittim in the plains of Moab.

50 A nd Jehovah spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan of Jericho, saying,

¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan of Jericho, saying,

51 S peak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye pass over Jordan into the land of Canaan,

Speak unto the sons of Israel and say unto them, When ye have passed the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

52 t hen ye shall dispossess all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and ye shall destroy all their figured images, and all their molten images shall ye destroy, and all their high places shall ye lay waste;

then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you and abolish all their paintings and abolish all their molten images and destroy all their high places,

53 a nd ye shall take possession of the land, and dwell therein, for to you have I given the land to possess it.

and ye shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land and dwell therein; for I have given you the land to inherit it.

54 A nd ye shall take for yourselves the land as an inheritance by lot according to your families: to the many ye shall increase their inheritance, and to the few thou shalt diminish their inheritance: where the lot falleth to him, there shall be each man's; according to the tribes of your fathers shall ye take for yourselves the inheritance.

And ye shall inherit the land by lots by your families, and to those with the most ye shall give more inheritance, and to the fewer ye shall give less inheritance, each one’s inheritance shall be in the place where his lot falls; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall inherit.

55 B ut if ye will not dispossess the inhabitants of the land from before you, those that ye let remain of them shall be thorns in your eyes, and pricks in your sides, and they shall harass you in the land wherein ye dwell.

But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall come to pass that those whom ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes and thorns in your sides and shall afflict you in the land in which ye dwell.

56 A nd it shall come to pass that I will do unto you as I thought to do unto them.

Moreover it shall come to pass that I shall do unto you, as I thought to do unto them.
