1 I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”

2 O ur feet are standing inside your gates, O Jerusalem.

3 J erusalem is built as a city where people come together.

La ciudad de Jerusalén fue construida como centro de reunión de la comunidad.

4 T hat is where the different families go, the families of the Lord. There they give thanks to the name of the Lord, by the Law that was given to Israel.

Todas las tribus del Señor llegan a ella, cumpliendo con la orden dada a Israel de alabar allí el nombre del Señor.

5 F or thrones were set there for telling who is guilty or not, the thrones of the house of David.

Allí se encuentran los tribunales de justicia; allí está el trono de la casa de David.

6 P ray for the peace of Jerusalem. May all go well for those who love you.

Pidamos por la paz de Jerusalén, y porque prosperen los que te aman.

7 M ay there be peace within your walls. May all go well within your houses.

Que haya paz dentro de tus murallas, y se respire tranquilidad en tus palacios.

8 I will now say, “May peace be within you,” for the good of my brothers and my friends.

Por mis hermanos y mis compañeros, ruego a Dios que haya paz en ti.

9 B ecause of the house of the Lord our God, I will pray for your good.

Por el templo del Señor nuestro Dios, pido a Dios que te dé bienestar.
