1 T he Lord says, “Hold on to what is right and fair. Do what is right and good. My saving power will soon come, and I will show what is right.

El Señor ha dicho: «Practiquen la justicia y ejecuten el derecho. Ya se acerca mi salvación; mi justicia pronto va a manifestarse.

2 H ow happy is the man who does this, and the son of man who takes hold of it! How happy is he who keeps the Day of Rest holy, and keeps his hand from doing wrong.”

¡Dichosos los que observan fielmente el día de reposo y se mantienen firmes en su práctica de no profanarlo! ¡Dichosos los que frenan su mano para no cometer ninguna maldad.

3 L et not the man from a strange land who has joined the Lord say, “For sure the Lord will keep me away from His people.” Let not the man who had been made so that he could not have children say, “See, I am a dry tree.”

»Que no diga el extranjero que me sigue: “El Señor me apartará totalmente de su pueblo”; ni diga tampoco el eunuco: “¡Miren! ¡Sólo soy un árbol seco!”

4 T o these the Lord says, “If these servants keep My Days of Rest and choose what pleases Me, and hold on to My agreement,

Porque yo, el Señor, digo a los eunucos que observen mis días de reposo, y opten por hacer lo que yo quiero, y se aferren a mi pacto:

5 I will give them something in My house and within My walls to be remembered. I will give them a name better than that of sons and daughters, a name that will be forever and never be cut off.

En mi casa, y dentro de los muros de mi ciudad, los haré más famosos que si hubieran tenido hijos e hijas; les daré un nombre perpetuo, que jamás será olvidado.

6 “ And those from a strange land who join themselves to the Lord, to serve Him and to love His name, to be His servants, and keep the Day of Rest holy, and keep My agreement,

A los hijos de los extranjeros que me sigan y me sirvan, y que amen mi nombre y sean mis siervos; y a todos los que observen el día de reposo y no lo profanen, y se aferren a mi pacto,

7 e ven those I will bring to My holy mountain and give them joy in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and gifts will be received on My altar. For My house will be called a house of prayer for all people.”

yo los llevaré a mi santo monte, para que se alegren en mi casa de oración. Sus holocaustos y sus sacrificios serán bien recibidos sobre mi altar, porque mi casa será llamada casa de oración para todos los pueblos.

9 A ll you animals of the field, all you animals among the trees, come to eat.

»Ustedes, bestias del campo, y ustedes fieras del bosque, ¡vengan y devoren!

10 T he men of Israel who keep watch are blind to trouble. They know very little. They are all dogs that cannot make noise. They dream and lie down, and love to sleep.

Todos los que vigilan a mi pueblo son ciegos e ignorantes; todos ellos son como perros mudos, que ni ladrar pueden: siempre somnolientos y echados, ¡les encanta dormir!

11 T he dogs are hungry and never have enough. The shepherds have no understanding. They have all turned to their own way, each one wanting to get things for himself that are not his.

Son como perros: ¡comilones e insaciables! Y quienes los guían no saben entender; todos ellos van por su propio camino, cada uno va por su lado, buscando su propio provecho.

12 “ Come,” they say, “let us get wine. Let us drink much strong drink. And tomorrow will be even better than today.”

Los invitan a tomar vino y a emborracharse con sidra, mientras les aseguran que el día de mañana será mejor que el presente.
