1 A fter this the Lord chose seventy others. He sent them out two together to every city and place where He would be going later.

Después de esto, el Señor eligió a otros setenta y dos, y de dos en dos los envió delante de él a todas las ciudades y lugares adonde él tenía que ir.

2 J esus said to them, “There is much grain ready to gather. But the workmen are few. Pray then to the Lord Who is the Owner of the grain-fields that He will send workmen to gather His grain.

Les dijo: «Ciertamente, es mucha la mies, pero son pocos los segadores. Por tanto, pidan al Señor de la mies que envíe segadores a cosechar la mies.

3 G o on your way. Listen! I send you out like lambs among wolves.

Y ustedes, pónganse en camino. Pero tengan en cuenta que yo los envío como a corderos en medio de lobos.

4 T ake no money. Do not take a bag or shoes. Speak to no one along the way.

No lleven bolsa, ni alforja, ni calzado; ni se detengan en el camino a saludar a nadie.

5 W hen you go into a house, say that you hope peace will come to them.

En cualquier casa adonde entren, antes que nada digan: “Paz a esta casa.”

6 I f a man who loves peace lives there, your good wishes will come to him. If your good wishes are not received, they will come back to you.

Si allí hay gente de paz, la paz de ustedes reposará sobre esa gente; de lo contrario, la paz volverá a ustedes.

7 S tay in the same house. Eat and drink what they give you. The workman should have his thanks. Do not move from house to house.

Quédense en esa misma casa, y coman y beban lo que les den, porque el obrero es digno de su salario. No vayan de casa en casa.

8 “ Whenever a city receives you, eat the things that are put before you there.

En cualquier ciudad donde entren, y los reciban, coman lo que les ofrezcan.

9 H eal the sick. Say to them, ‘The holy nation of God is near.’

Sanen a los enfermos que allí haya, y díganles: “El reino de Dios se ha acercado a ustedes.”

10 W hatever city does not receive you, go into its streets and say,

Pero si llegan a alguna ciudad y no los reciben, salgan a la calle y digan:

11 ‘ Even the dust of your city that is on our feet we are cleaning off against you. But understand this, the holy nation of God has come near you!’

“Hasta el polvo de su ciudad, que se ha pegado a nuestros pies, lo sacudimos contra ustedes. Pero sepan que el reino de Dios se ha acercado a ustedes.”

12 I tell you, on the day men stand before God, it will be easier for the city of Sodom than for that city.

Yo les digo que, en aquel día, el castigo para Sodoma será más tolerable que para aquella ciudad. Ayes sobre las ciudades impenitentes

13 “ It is bad for you, city of Chorazin! It is bad for you, town of Bethsaida! For if the powerful works which were done in you had been done in the cities of Tyre and Sidon they would have turned from their sins long ago. They would have shown their sorrow by putting on clothes made from hair and would have sat in ashes.

»¡Ay de ti, Corazín! ¡Y ay de ti, Betsaida! Porque si en Tiro y en Sidón se hubieran hecho los milagros que se han hecho en ustedes, ya hace tiempo que, sentadas en cilicio y cubiertas de ceniza, habrían mostrado su arrepentimiento.

14 I t will be better for Tyre and Sidon on the day men stand before God and be told they are guilty than for you.

Por tanto, en el día del juicio, el castigo para Tiro y para Sidón será más tolerable que para ustedes.

15 A nd you, Capernaum, are you to be lifted up into heaven? You will be taken down to hell.

Y tú, Cafarnaún, que te elevas hasta los cielos, ¡hasta el Hades caerás abatida!

16 W hoever listens to you, listens to Me. Whoever has nothing to do with you, has nothing to do with Me. Whoever has nothing to do with Me, has nothing to do with the One Who sent Me.” The Seventy Came Back

»El que los escucha a ustedes, me escucha a mí. El que los rechaza a ustedes, me rechaza a mí; y el que me rechaza a mí, rechaza al que me envió.» Regreso de los setenta y dos

17 T he seventy came back full of joy. They said, “Lord, even the demons obeyed us when we used Your name.”

Cuando los setenta y dos volvieron, estaban muy contentos y decían: «Señor, en tu nombre, ¡hasta los demonios se nos sujetan!»

18 J esus said to them, “I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning.

Jesús les dijo: «Yo veía a Satanás caer del cielo como un rayo.

19 L isten! I have given you power to walk on snakes. I have given you power over small animals with a sting of poison. I have given you power over all the power of the one who works against you. Nothing will hurt you.

Miren que yo les he dado a ustedes poder para aplastar serpientes y escorpiones, y para vencer a todo el poder del enemigo, sin que nada los dañe.

20 E ven so, you should not be happy because the demons obey you but be happy because your names are written in heaven.” The Joy of the Holy Spirit

Pero no se alegren de que los espíritus se les sujetan, sino de que los nombres de ustedes ya están escritos en los cielos.» Jesús se regocija

21 A t this time Jesus was full of the joy of the Holy Spirit. He said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth. You have kept these things hidden from the wise and from those who have much learning. You have shown them to little children. Yes, Father, it was what you wanted done.

En ese momento Jesús se regocijó en el Espíritu Santo, y dijo: «Te alabo, Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, porque estas cosas las escondiste de los sabios y entendidos, y las revelaste a los niños. ¡Sí, Padre, porque así te agradó!

22 “ Everything has been given to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son but the Father. No one knows the Father but the Son and the Son makes the Father known to those He chooses.”

Mi Padre me ha entregado todas las cosas, y nadie conoce al Hijo, sino el Padre; ni nadie conoce al Padre, sino el Hijo, y aquel a quien el Hijo lo quiera revelar.»

23 T hen He turned to His followers and said without anyone else hearing, “Happy are those who see what you see!

Jesús se volvió a los discípulos, y aparte les dijo: «Dichosos los ojos que ven lo que ustedes ven.

24 I tell you, many early preachers and kings have wanted to see the things you are seeing, but they did not see them. They have wanted to hear the things you are hearing, but they did not hear them.” Jesus Talks to the Man Who Knew the Law

Porque les digo que muchos profetas y reyes desearon ver lo que ustedes ven, pero no lo vieron; y oír lo que ustedes oyen, pero no lo oyeron.» El buen samaritano

25 A man stood up who knew the Law and tried to trap Jesus. He said, “Teacher, what must I do to have life that lasts forever?”

En ese momento, un intérprete de la ley se levantó y, para poner a prueba a Jesús, dijo: «Maestro, ¿qué debo hacer para heredar la vida eterna?»

26 J esus said to him, “What is written in the Law? What does the Law say?”

Jesús le dijo: «¿Qué es lo que está escrito en la ley? ¿Qué lees allí?»

27 T he man said, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart. You must love Him with all your soul. You must love Him with all your strength. You must love Him with all your mind. You must love your neighbor as you love yourself.”

El intérprete de la ley respondió: «Amarás al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma, con todas tus fuerzas y con toda tu mente, y a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.»

28 J esus said to him, “You have said the right thing. Do this and you will have life.”

Jesús le dijo: «Has contestado correctamente. Haz esto, y vivirás.»

29 T he man tried to make himself look good. He asked Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?” The Picture-Story of the Good Samaritan

Pero aquél, queriendo justificarse a sí mismo, le preguntó a Jesús: «¿Y quién es mi prójimo?»

30 J esus said, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to the city of Jericho. Robbers came out after him. They took his clothes off and beat him. Then they went away, leaving him almost dead.

Jesús le respondió: «Un hombre descendía de Jerusalén a Jericó, y cayó en manos de unos ladrones, que le robaron todo lo que tenía y lo hirieron, dejándolo casi muerto.

31 A religious leader was walking down that road and saw the man. But he went by on the other side.

Por el camino descendía un sacerdote, y aunque lo vio, siguió de largo.

32 I n the same way, a man from the family group of Levi was walking down that road. When he saw the man who was hurt, he came near to him but kept on going on the other side of the road.

Cerca de aquel lugar pasó también un levita, y aunque lo vio, siguió de largo.

33 T hen a man from the country of Samaria came by. He went up to the man. As he saw him, he had loving-pity on him.

Pero un samaritano, que iba de camino, se acercó al hombre y, al verlo, se compadeció de él

34 H e got down and put oil and wine on the places where he was hurt and put cloth around them. Then the man from Samaria put this man on his own donkey. He took him to a place where people stay for the night and cared for him.

y le curó las heridas con aceite y vino, y se las vendó; luego lo puso sobre su cabalgadura y lo llevó a una posada, y cuidó de él.

35 T he next day the man from Samaria was ready to leave. He gave the owner of that place two pieces of money to care for him. He said to him, ‘Take care of this man. If you use more than this, I will give it to you when I come again.’

Al otro día, antes de partir, sacó dos monedas, se las dio al dueño de la posada, y le dijo: “Cuídalo. Cuando yo regrese, te pagaré todo lo que hayas gastado de más.”

36 “ Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who was beaten by the robbers?”

De estos tres, ¿cuál crees que fue el prójimo del que cayó en manos de los ladrones?»

37 T he man who knew the Law said, “The one who showed loving-pity on him.” Then Jesus said, “Go and do the same.” Mary and Martha Care for Jesus

Aquél respondió: «El que tuvo compasión de él.» Entonces Jesús le dijo: «Pues ve y haz tú lo mismo.» Jesús visita a Marta y a María

38 A s they went on their way, they came to a town where a woman named Martha lived. She cared for Jesus in her home.

Mientras Jesús iba de camino, entró en una aldea, y una mujer llamada Marta, lo hospedó en su casa.

39 M artha had a sister named Mary. Mary sat at the feet of Jesus and listened to all He said.

Marta tenía una hermana que se llamaba María, la cual se sentó a los pies de Jesús para escuchar lo que él decía.

40 M artha was working hard getting the supper ready. She came to Jesus and said, “Do You see that my sister is not helping me? Tell her to help me.”

Pero Marta, que estaba ocupada con muchos quehaceres, se acercó a Jesús y le dijo: «Señor, ¿no te importa que mi hermana me deje trabajar sola? ¡Dile que me ayude!»

41 J esus said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.

Jesús le respondió: «Marta, Marta, estás preocupada y aturdida con muchas cosas.

42 O nly a few things are important, even just one. Mary has chosen the good thing. It will not be taken away from her.”

Pero una sola cosa es necesaria. María ha escogido la mejor parte, y nadie se la quitará.»
