1 T he Powerful One, God, the Lord, has spoken. And He calls the earth from where the sun rises to where the sun goes down.

2 G od shines from Zion, perfect in beauty.

Desde Sión, la ciudad bella y perfecta, Dios deja ver su esplendor.

3 M ay our God come and not keep quiet. A fire burns before Him, and around Him is a powerful storm.

Nuestro Dios viene, pero no en silencio. Un fuego consumidor lo precede; una poderosa tempestad lo rodea.

4 H e calls the heavens above, and the earth, that He may judge His people:

Convoca a los cielos y a la tierra, pues viene a juzgar a su pueblo.

5 “ Gather My holy ones to Me, those who have made an agreement with Me by their gifts given on an altar.”

«Reúnan a mi pueblo santo, a los que han hecho un pacto conmigo y me han ofrecido un sacrificio.»

6 A nd the heavens will tell how right and good He is, for God Himself is judge.

Y los cielos declaran su justicia; declaran que Dios mismo es el juez.

7 “ Listen, O My people, and I will speak. O Israel, I will speak against you. I am God, your God.

«Escucha, Israel, pueblo mío; voy a hablar y a testificar contra ti. Yo soy Dios. Yo soy tu Dios.

8 I do not speak sharp words to you for your gifts given on an altar. And your burnt gifts are always before Me.

No voy a reprenderte por tus sacrificios, ni por los holocaustos que siempre me ofreces;

9 I will not take a young bull out of your house, or male goats out of your fields.

no voy a tomar ningún becerro de tu casa, ni ningún macho cabrío de tus apriscos,

10 F or every animal among the trees is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.

pues míos son todos los animales del bosque, ¡los miles de animales que hay en las colinas!

11 I know every bird of the mountains. And all things that move in the field are Mine.

Mías son todas las aves de los montes; mío es todo lo que se mueve en los campos.

12 I f I were hungry, I would not tell you. For the world is Mine, and all that is in it.

»Si yo tuviera hambre, no te lo diría, pues el mundo y su plenitud me pertenecen.

13 S hould I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of male goats?

¿Acaso me alimento con carne de toros, o bebo sangre de machos cabríos?

14 G ive a gift of thanks on the altar to God. And pay your promises to the Most High.

Yo soy el Dios Altísimo; en vez de sacrificios, ofréceme alabanzas y cúmpleme todos los votos que me hagas.

15 C all on Me in the day of trouble. I will take you out of trouble, and you will honor Me.”

Invócame en el día de la angustia; yo te libraré, y tú me honrarás.»

16 B ut to the sinful, God says: “What right do you have to tell of My Laws, and take My agreement in your mouth?

Pero al malvado Dios le dice: «¿Qué tienes tú que ver con mis leyes? ¿Por qué te atreves a hablar de mi pacto?

17 F or you hate to be told what to do, and you throw My words behind you.

¡Si tú aborreces la corrección, y echas en saco roto mis palabras!

18 W hen you see a robber, you are pleased with him. And you join those who do sex sins.

Si ves un ladrón, corres a su encuentro; ¡eres gran amigo de los adúlteros!

19 Y ou say bad things with your mouth, and you lie with your tongue.

Para el mal, no mides tus palabras; con tu lengua urdes toda clase de engaños.

20 Y ou sit and speak against your brother. You talk against your own mother’s son.

En los tribunales, hablas contra tu hermano; contra tu propio hermano profieres infamias.

21 Y ou have done these things, and I have kept quiet. You thought that I was just like you. But I will speak sharp words to you, and tell you who is guilty to your face.

Todo esto has hecho, y yo me he callado; habrás pensado que yo soy como tú. Pero ahora voy a reprenderte; voy a exhibir todas tus maldades.

22 “ Now think about this, you who forget God, or I will tear you in pieces and there will be no one to save you.

»Ustedes, los que se olvidan de mí, entiendan bien esto; no vaya a ser que los despedace y no haya quien los libre de mí.

23 H e who gives a gift of thanks honors Me. And to him who makes his way right, I will show him the saving power of God.”

El que me ofrece alabanzas, me honra; al que enmiende su camino, yo lo salvaré.»
