1 I , Paul, am in prison because I am a missionary for Jesus Christ to you who are not Jews.

Por eso yo, Pablo, estoy preso por causa de Cristo Jesús para bien de ustedes, los no judíos.

2 I am sure you have heard that God trusted me with His loving-favor.

Sin duda ustedes se habrán enterado del plan que Dios, en su bondad, me asignó para el bien de ustedes;

3 I wrote a little about this to you before. In a special way, God showed me His secret plan.

me refiero al misterio que me declaró por revelación, como ya les había escrito brevemente.

4 W hen you read this, you will understand how I know about the things that are not easy to understand about Christ.

Al leerlo, podrán darse cuenta de que conozco el misterio de Cristo,

5 L ong ago men did not know these things. But now they have been shown to His missionaries and to the early preachers by the Holy Spirit.

misterio que en otras generaciones no se dio a conocer a la humanidad tal y como ahora se ha revelado a sus santos apóstoles y profetas por el Espíritu.

6 L et me tell you that the Good News is for the people who are not Jews also. They are able to have life that lasts forever. They are to be a part of His church and family, together with the Jews. And together they are to receive all that God has promised through Christ.

Ahora sabemos que, por medio del evangelio, los no judíos son coherederos y miembros del mismo cuerpo, y copartícipes de la promesa en Cristo Jesús.

7 G od asked me to preach this Good News. He gave me the gift of His loving-favor. He gave me His power to preach it.

Por el don de la gracia de Dios, que me ha sido dado conforme a su gran poder, yo fui designado ministro de este evangelio.

8 O f all those who belong to Christ, I am the least important. But this loving-favor was given to me to preach to the people who are not Jews. I was to tell them of the great riches in Christ which do not come to an end.

Yo, que soy menor que el más pequeño de todos los santos, he recibido el privilegio de anunciar entre los no judíos el evangelio de las insondables riquezas de Cristo,

9 I was to make all men understand the meaning of this secret. God kept this secret to Himself from the beginning of the world. And He is the One Who made all things.

y de hacer entender a todos cuál es el plan del misterio que Dios, el creador de todas las cosas, mantuvo en secreto desde tiempos remotos

10 T his was done so the great wisdom of God might be shown now to the leaders and powers in the heavenly places. It is being done through the church.

para dar a conocer ahora, por medio de la iglesia, su multiforme sabiduría a los principados y poderes en los lugares celestiales,

11 T his was the plan God had for all time. He did this through Christ Jesus our Lord.

conforme al propósito eterno que llevó a cabo por medio de Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor,

12 W e can come to God without fear because we have put our trust in Christ.

en quien tenemos seguridad y confiado acceso por medio de la fe en él.

13 S o I ask you not to lose heart because of my suffering for you. It is to help you. Paul’s Prayer for the Church

Por lo tanto, les pido que no se desanimen a causa de mis sufrimientos por ustedes. Al contrario, considérenlos un motivo de orgullo. El sublime amor de Cristo

14 F or this reason, I bow my knees and pray to the Father.

Por eso yo me arrodillo delante del Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo,

15 I t is from Him that every family in heaven and on earth has its name.

de quien recibe su nombre toda familia en los cielos y en la tierra,

16 I pray that because of the riches of His shining-greatness, He will make you strong with power in your hearts through the Holy Spirit.

para que por su Espíritu, y conforme a las riquezas de su gloria, los fortalezca interiormente con poder;

17 I pray that Christ may live in your hearts by faith. I pray that you will be filled with love.

para que por la fe Cristo habite en sus corazones, y para que, arraigados y cimentados en amor,

18 I pray that you will be able to understand how wide and how long and how high and how deep His love is.

sean ustedes plenamente capaces de comprender, con todos los santos, cuál es la anchura, la longitud, la profundidad y la altura del amor de Cristo;

19 I pray that you will know the love of Christ. His love goes beyond anything we can understand. I pray that you will be filled with God Himself.

en fin, que conozcan ese amor, que excede a todo conocimiento, para que sean llenos de toda la plenitud de Dios.

20 G od is able to do much more than we ask or think through His power working in us.

Y a Aquel que es poderoso para hacer que todas las cosas excedan a lo que pedimos o entendemos, según el poder que actúa en nosotros,

21 M ay we see His shining-greatness in the church. May all people in all time honor Christ Jesus. Let it be so.

a él sea dada la gloria en la iglesia en Cristo Jesús por todas las generaciones, por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.
