1 A fter this the Lord chose seventy others. He sent them out two together to every city and place where He would be going later.

Dopo queste cose, il Signore ne designò altri settanta e li mandò a due a due davanti a sé, in ogni città e luogo dove egli stava per recarsi.

2 J esus said to them, “There is much grain ready to gather. But the workmen are few. Pray then to the Lord Who is the Owner of the grain-fields that He will send workmen to gather His grain.

E diceva loro: «La mèsse è grande, ma gli operai sono pochi; pregate dunque il Signore della mèsse che spinga degli operai nella sua mèsse,

3 G o on your way. Listen! I send you out like lambs among wolves.

Andate; ecco, io vi mando come agnelli in mezzo ai lupi,

4 T ake no money. Do not take a bag or shoes. Speak to no one along the way.

Non portate borsa, né sacca, né sandali, e non salutate alcuno per via.

5 W hen you go into a house, say that you hope peace will come to them.

E in qualunque casa entriate, dite prima: "Pace a questa casa".

6 I f a man who loves peace lives there, your good wishes will come to him. If your good wishes are not received, they will come back to you.

E se lí vi è un figlio di pace, la vostra pace si poserà su di lui; se no, essa ritornerà a voi.

7 S tay in the same house. Eat and drink what they give you. The workman should have his thanks. Do not move from house to house.

Rimanete quindi nella stessa casa, mangiando e bevendo ciò che vi daranno, perché l'operaio è degno della sua ricompensa. Non passate di casa in casa.

8 “ Whenever a city receives you, eat the things that are put before you there.

E in qualunque città entriate, se vi ricevono, mangiate di ciò che vi sarà messo davanti.

9 H eal the sick. Say to them, ‘The holy nation of God is near.’

E guarite i malati che saranno in essa e dite loro: "Il regno di Dio si è avvicinato a voi".

10 W hatever city does not receive you, go into its streets and say,

Ma in qualunque città entriate, se non vi ricevono uscite nelle strade di quella e dite:

11 ‘ Even the dust of your city that is on our feet we are cleaning off against you. But understand this, the holy nation of God has come near you!’

"Noi scuotiamo contro di voi la polvere stessa della vostra città che si è attaccata a noi, sappiate tuttavia questo, che il regno di Dio si è avvicinato a voi".

12 I tell you, on the day men stand before God, it will be easier for the city of Sodom than for that city.

Io Vi dico che in quel giorno Sodoma sarà trattata con piú tolleranza di quella città.

13 “ It is bad for you, city of Chorazin! It is bad for you, town of Bethsaida! For if the powerful works which were done in you had been done in the cities of Tyre and Sidon they would have turned from their sins long ago. They would have shown their sorrow by putting on clothes made from hair and would have sat in ashes.

Guai a te, Corazin! Guai a te, Betsaida! Perché se in Tiro e in Sidone fossero state fatte le potenti opere compiute in voi, già da tempo si sarebbero ravvedute, vestendosi di sacco e sedendo nella cenere,

14 I t will be better for Tyre and Sidon on the day men stand before God and be told they are guilty than for you.

Perciò nel giorno del giudizio Tiro e Sidone saranno trattate con piú tolleranza di voi.

15 A nd you, Capernaum, are you to be lifted up into heaven? You will be taken down to hell.

E tu, Capernaum, che sei stata innalzata fino al cielo, sarai abbassata fin nell'inferno.

16 W hoever listens to you, listens to Me. Whoever has nothing to do with you, has nothing to do with Me. Whoever has nothing to do with Me, has nothing to do with the One Who sent Me.” The Seventy Came Back

Chi ascolta voi, ascolta me; chi disprezza voi, disprezza me; e chi disprezza me, disprezza colui che mi ha mandato».

17 T he seventy came back full of joy. They said, “Lord, even the demons obeyed us when we used Your name.”

Or i settanta tornarono con allegrezza, dicendo: «Signore, anche i demoni ci sono sottoposti nel nome tuo».

18 J esus said to them, “I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning.

Ed egli disse loro: «Io vedevo Satana cadere dal cielo come una folgore.

19 L isten! I have given you power to walk on snakes. I have given you power over small animals with a sting of poison. I have given you power over all the power of the one who works against you. Nothing will hurt you.

Ecco, io vi ho dato il potere di calpestare serpenti e scorpioni, e su tutta la potenza del nemico, e nulla potrà farvi del male.

20 E ven so, you should not be happy because the demons obey you but be happy because your names are written in heaven.” The Joy of the Holy Spirit

Tuttavia non vi rallegrate del fatto che gli spiriti vi sono sottoposti, ma rallegratevi piuttosto perché i vostri nomi sono scritti nei cieli».

21 A t this time Jesus was full of the joy of the Holy Spirit. He said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth. You have kept these things hidden from the wise and from those who have much learning. You have shown them to little children. Yes, Father, it was what you wanted done.

In quella stessa ora Gesú giubilò nello spirito e disse: «Io ti rendo lode, o Padre, Signore del cielo e della terra perche hai nascosto queste cose ai savi e agli intelligenti e le hai rivelate ai piccoli fanciulli. Sí, o Padre, perché cosí ti è piaciuto.

22 “ Everything has been given to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son but the Father. No one knows the Father but the Son and the Son makes the Father known to those He chooses.”

Ogni cosa mi è stata data in mano dal Padre mio; e nessuno conosce chi è il Figlio se non il Padre, né chi è il Padre se non il Figlio e colui al quale il Figlio lo voglia rivelare».

23 T hen He turned to His followers and said without anyone else hearing, “Happy are those who see what you see!

Poi, rivolto verso i discepoli, disse loro in disparte: «Beati gli occhi che vedono le cose che voi vedete,

24 I tell you, many early preachers and kings have wanted to see the things you are seeing, but they did not see them. They have wanted to hear the things you are hearing, but they did not hear them.” Jesus Talks to the Man Who Knew the Law

perché vi dico che molti profeti e re hanno desiderato di vedere le cose che voi vedete e non le hanno viste, e di udire le cose che voi udite e non le hanno udite».

25 A man stood up who knew the Law and tried to trap Jesus. He said, “Teacher, what must I do to have life that lasts forever?”

Allora ecco, un certo dottore della legge si levò per metterlo alla prova e disse: «Maestro, che devo fare per ereditare la vita eterna?».

26 J esus said to him, “What is written in the Law? What does the Law say?”

Ed egli disse: «Che cosa sta scritto nella legge? Come leggi?».

27 T he man said, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart. You must love Him with all your soul. You must love Him with all your strength. You must love Him with all your mind. You must love your neighbor as you love yourself.”

E quegli, rispondendo, disse: «Ama a il Signore Dio tuo con tutto il tuo cuore, con tutta la tua anima, con tutta la tua forza e con tutta la tua mente, e il prossimo tuo come te stesso».

28 J esus said to him, “You have said the right thing. Do this and you will have life.”

Ed egli gli disse: «Hai risposto esattamente; fa' questo e vivrai»

29 T he man tried to make himself look good. He asked Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?” The Picture-Story of the Good Samaritan

Ma egli, volendo giustificarsi, disse a Gesú: «E chi è il mio prossimo?».

30 J esus said, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to the city of Jericho. Robbers came out after him. They took his clothes off and beat him. Then they went away, leaving him almost dead.

Gesú allora rispose e disse: «Un uomo scendeva da Gerusalemme a Gerico e cadde nelle mani dei ladroni i quali, dopo averlo spogliato e coperto di ferite, se ne andarono lasciandolo mezzo morto.

31 A religious leader was walking down that road and saw the man. But he went by on the other side.

Per caso un sacerdote scendeva per quella stessa strada e, veduto quell'uomo, passò oltre, dall'altra parte.

32 I n the same way, a man from the family group of Levi was walking down that road. When he saw the man who was hurt, he came near to him but kept on going on the other side of the road.

Similmente anche un levita si trovò a passare da quel luogo, lo vide e passò oltre, dall'altra parte.

33 T hen a man from the country of Samaria came by. He went up to the man. As he saw him, he had loving-pity on him.

Ma un Samaritano che era in viaggio, passò accanto a lui, lo vide e ne ebbe compassione.

34 H e got down and put oil and wine on the places where he was hurt and put cloth around them. Then the man from Samaria put this man on his own donkey. He took him to a place where people stay for the night and cared for him.

E, accostatosi, fasciò le sue piaghe, versandovi sopra olio e vino, poi lo mise sulla propria cavalcatura, lo portò a una locanda e si prese cura di lui.

35 T he next day the man from Samaria was ready to leave. He gave the owner of that place two pieces of money to care for him. He said to him, ‘Take care of this man. If you use more than this, I will give it to you when I come again.’

E il giorno dopo, prima di partire, prese due denari, e li diede al locandiere, dicendogli: "Prenditi cura di lui e tutto quello che spenderai in piú, te lo renderò al mio ritorno".

36 “ Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who was beaten by the robbers?”

Quale dunque di questi tre ti pare sia stato il prossimo di colui che cadde nelle mani dei ladroni?».

37 T he man who knew the Law said, “The one who showed loving-pity on him.” Then Jesus said, “Go and do the same.” Mary and Martha Care for Jesus

E quello disse: «Colui che usò misericordia verso di lui». Gesú allora gli disse: «Va' e fa' lo stesso anche tu».

38 A s they went on their way, they came to a town where a woman named Martha lived. She cared for Jesus in her home.

Ora, mentre essi erano in cammino, avvenne che egli entrò in un villaggio; e una certa donna, di nome Marta, lo ricevette in casa sua.

39 M artha had a sister named Mary. Mary sat at the feet of Jesus and listened to all He said.

Or ella aveva una sorella che si chiamava Maria, la quale si pose a sedere ai piedi di Gesú, e ascoltava la sua parola.

40 M artha was working hard getting the supper ready. She came to Jesus and said, “Do You see that my sister is not helping me? Tell her to help me.”

Ma Marta, tutta presa dalle molte faccende, si avvicinò e disse: «Signore, non t'importa che mia sorella mi abbia lasciata sola a servire? Dille dunque che mi aiuti».

41 J esus said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.

Ma Gesú, rispondendo, le disse: «Marta, Marta, tu ti preoccupi e ti inquieti per molte cose

42 O nly a few things are important, even just one. Mary has chosen the good thing. It will not be taken away from her.”

ma una sola cosa è necessaria, e Maria ha scelto la parte migliore, che non le sarà tolta».
