2 D o not forget to be kind to strangers and let them stay in your home. Some people have had angels in their homes without knowing it.

Non dimenticate l'ospitalità, perché alcuni, praticandola, hanno ospitato senza saperlo degli angeli.

3 R emember those in prison. Think of them as if you were in prison with them. Remember those who are suffering because of what others have done to them. You may suffer in the same way.

Ricordatevi dei carcerati come se foste loro compagni e di quelli che sono maltrattati, sapendo che anche voi siete nel corpo.

4 M arriage should be respected by everyone. God will punish those who do sex sins and are not faithful in marriage.

Sia il matrimonio tenuto in onore da tutti e il letto coniugale sia incontaminato, poiché Dio giudicherà i fornicatori e gli adulteri.

5 K eep your lives free from the love of money. Be happy with what you have. God has said, “I will never leave you or let you be alone.”

Nel vostro comportamento non siate amanti del denaro e accontentatevi di quello che avete, perché Dio stesso ha detto: «Io non ti lascerò e non ti abbandonerò».

6 S o we can say for sure, “The Lord is my Helper. I am not afraid of anything man can do to me.”

Cosí possiamo dire con fiducia: «Il Signore è il mio aiuto, e io non temerò. Che cosa mi potrà fare l'uomo?».

7 R emember your leaders who first spoke God’s Word to you. Think of how they lived, and trust God as they did.

Ricordatevi dei vostri conduttori, che vi hanno annunziato la parola di Dio e, considerando il risultato della loro condotta, imitate la loro fede.

8 J esus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Gesú Cristo è lo stesso ieri, oggi e in eterno.

9 D o not let the many strange teachings lead you in the wrong way. Our hearts are made strong by God’s loving-favor. Food does not make our hearts strong. Those who obey laws about eating certain foods are not helped by them.

Non lasciatevi trasportare qua e là da varie e strane dottrine, perché è bene che il cuore sia reso saldo dalla grazia e non da cibi, da cui non ebbero alcun giovamento quelli che ne fecero uso.

10 W e have an altar from which those who work in the place of worship have no right to eat.

Noi abbiamo un altare del quale non hanno diritto di mangiare quelli che servono al tabernacolo.

11 T he head religious leader takes the blood of animals into the holy place to give it on the altar for sins. But the bodies of the animals are burned outside the city.

Infatti i corpi degli animali, il cui sangue è portato dal sommo sacerdote nel santuario per il peccato, sono bruciati fuori del campo,

12 I t was the same with Jesus. He suffered and died outside the city so His blood would make the people clean from sin.

Perciò anche Gesú, per santificare il popolo con il proprio sangue, ha sofferto fuori della porta.

13 S o let us go to Him outside the city to share His shame.

Usciamo dunque fuori del campo e andiamo a lui portando il suo vituperio.

14 F or there is no city here on earth that will last forever. We are looking for the one that is coming.

Infatti non abbiamo quaggiù una città stabile, ma cerchiamo quella futura.

15 L et us give thanks all the time to God through Jesus Christ. Our gift to Him is to give thanks. Our lips should always give thanks to His name.

Per mezzo di lui dunque, offriamo del continuo a Dio un sacrificio di lode, cioè il frutto di labbra che confessano il suo nome.

16 R emember to do good and help each other. Gifts like this please God.

E non dimenticate la beneficenza e di far parte dei vostri beni agli altri, perché Dio si compiace di tali sacrifici.

17 O bey your leaders and do what they say. They keep watch over your souls. They have to tell God what they have done. They should have joy in this and not be sad. If they are sad, it is no help to you.

Ubbidite ai vostri conduttori e sottomettetevi a loro, perché essi vegliano sulle anime vostre, come chi ha da renderne conto, affinché facciano questo con gioia e non sospirando, perché ciò non vi sarebbe di alcun vantaggio.

18 P ray for us. Our hearts tell us we are right. We want to do the right thing always.

Pregate per noi, perché crediamo di avere una buona coscienza, desiderando di comportarci rettamente in ogni cosa.

19 P ray for me all the more so that I will be able to come to you soon.

Ma vi esorto ancor di piú a fare questo, affinché io vi sia restituito al piú presto.

20 G od is a God of peace. He raised our Lord Jesus from the dead. Jesus is the Good Shepherd of the sheep. His blood made the New Way of Worship which will last forever.

Ora il Dio della pace, che in virtú del sangue del patto eterno ha fatto risalire dai morti il Signor nostro Gesú Cristo, il grande Pastore delle pecore,

21 M ay God give you every good thing you need so you can do what He wants. May He do in us what pleases Him through Jesus Christ. May Christ have all the shining-greatness forever! Let it be so.

vi perfezioni in ogni buona opera, per fare la sua volontà, operando in voi ciò che è gradito davanti a lui per mezzo di Gesú Cristo, al quale sia la gloria nei secoli dei secoli. Amen.

22 C hristian brothers, I beg of you to listen to these words that will help you. This has been a short letter.

Ora vi prego, fratelli, ritenete questa parola di esortazione, perché vi ho scritto brevemente.

23 I want you to know that Timothy is out of prison. If he comes soon, I will bring him with me when I come to see you.

Sappiate che il fratello Timoteo è stato liberato; se viene presto, vi vedrò con lui.

24 G reet all of your leaders and to all those who belong to Christ. The Christians from the country of Italy greet you.

Salutate tutti i vostri conduttori e tutti i santi. Quelli d'Italia vi salutano.

25 M ay all of you have God’s loving-favor. Let it be so.
