1 ¶ He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Хто живе під покровом Всевишнього, хто в тіні Всемогутнього мешкає,

2 I will say of the LORD, He is my hope and my fortress: my God; in him will I secure myself.

той скаже до Господа: Охороно моя та твердине моя, Боже мій, я надіюсь на Нього!

3 S urely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler and from the mortal pestilence.

Бо Він тебе вирве з тенет птахолова, з моровиці згубної,

4 H e shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings thou shalt be secure: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Він пером Своїм вкриє тебе, і під крильми Його заховаєшся ти! Щит та лук Його правда.

5 T hou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flies by day,

Не будеш боятися страху нічного, ані стріли, що вдень пролітає,

6 n or for the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.

ані зарази, що в темряві ходить, ані моровиці, що нищить опівдні,

7 T housands shall fall at thy side and ten thousands at thy right hand, but it shall not come near thee.

впаде тисяча з боку від тебе, і десять тисяч праворуч від тебе, до тебе ж не дійде!...

8 S urely with thine eyes thou shalt behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Тільки своїми очима подивишся, і заплату безбожним попобачиш,

9 ¶ Because thou hast made the LORD, who is my hope, even the most High, thy habitation,

бо Господа, охорону мою, Всевишнього ти учинив за своє пристановище!

10 n o evil shall befall thee, neither shall any plague come near thy dwelling.

Тебе зло не спіткає, і до намету твого вдар не наблизиться,

11 F or he shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways.

бо Своїм Анголам Він накаже про тебе, щоб тебе пильнували на всіх дорогах твоїх,

12 T hey shall bear thee up in their hands lest thy foot stumble against a stone.

на руках вони будуть носити тебе, щоб не вдарив об камінь своєї ноги!

13 T hou shalt tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

На лева й вужа ти наступиш, левчука й крокодила ти будеш топтати!

14 B ecause he has set his will upon me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high because he has known my name.

Що бажав він Мене, то його збережу, зроблю його сильним, бо знає ім'я Моє він;

15 H e shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and glorify him.

як він Мене кликатиме, то йому відповім, Я з ним буду в недолі, врятую його та прославлю його,

16 W ith long life I will satisfy him and show him my saving health.

і довгістю днів Я насичу його, і він бачити буде спасіння Моє!
