1 ¶ Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem.

Манасія був віку дванадцяти літ, коли він зацарював, і царював в Єрусалимі п'ятдесят і п'ять літ.

2 A nd he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to the abominations of the Gentiles, whom the LORD had cast out before the sons of Israel.

І робив він лихе в Господніх очах, за поганською гидотою тих народів, яких вигнав Господь з-перед Ізраїлевих синів.

3 F or he rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah, his father, had broken down, and he raised up altars for the Baalim and made groves and worshipped all the host of the heavens and served them.

І він знову побудував пагірки, які порозбивав був його батько Єзекія, і понаставляв жертівники для Ваалів, і поробив Астарти, і вклонявся всім небесним силам, і служив їм.

4 H e also built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.

І побудував він жертівники в Господньому домі, про якого сказав був Господь: В Єрусалимі буде Ім'я Моє навіки!

5 H e likewise built altars for all the host of the heavens in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

І побудував він жертівники для всіх небесних сил на обох подвір'ях Господнього дому.

6 A nd he caused his sons to pass through the fire in the valley of the sons of Hinnom; he also observed times, used enchantments, and was given over to witchcraft, consulting with spiritists and with diviners; he multiplied in doing much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

І він перепроваджував своїх синів через огонь у долині Гінномового сина, і гадав, і ворожив, і чарував, і настановляв викликувачів духів померлих і духів віщих, і багато робив зла в очах Господа, щоб гнівити Його.

7 I n addition to this, he set a graven image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen over all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name for ever;

І поставив він різаного боввана, якого зробив, у Божому домі, про якого Бог сказав був до Давида та до сина його Соломона: У цьому домі та в Єрусалимі, що його Я вибрав зо всіх міст Ізраїлевих племен, покладу Я Ім'я Своє навіки!

8 n either will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers under the condition that they take, keep, and do all that I have commanded them, the whole law, the statutes and the rights by the hand of Moses.

І більше не виступить Ізраїлева нога з тієї землі, яку Я дав вашим батькам, якщо тільки вони будуть пильнувати робити все так, як наказав Я їм, увесь Закон, і устави, і постанови, дані через Мойсея.

9 S o Manasseh deceived Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to do more evil than the Gentiles, whom the LORD had destroyed before the sons of Israel.

Та Манасія робив блудливими Юдею та мешканців Єрусалиму, щоб робити гірше від тих народів, яких Господь вигубив з-перед Ізраїлевих синів.

10 A nd the LORD spoke to Manasseh and to his people, but they would not hearken.

І говорив Господь до Манасії та до народу його, та не слухались вони.

11 ¶ Therefore, the LORD brought upon them the princes of the host of the king of Assyria who took Manasseh and bound him with fetters of brass and carried him to Babylon.

І Господь навів на них зверхників війська асирійського царя, а вони схопили Манасію на повід, і скували його мідяними кайданами та й повели його до Вавилону.

12 A nd when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,

А як був він утискуваний, благав він лице Господа, Бога свого, і дуже впокорився перед лицем Бога своїх батьків.

13 a nd when he prayed unto him, he was heard; for he heard his supplication and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD was God.

І молився він до Нього, і Він був ублаганий, і вислухав благання його, і вернув його до Єрусалиму, до царства його. І пізнав Манасія, що Господь Він Бог!

14 N ow after, this he built the wall outside the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, and at the entrance of the fish gate, and fenced Ophel and raised it up to a very great height and put captains of the army in all the fenced cities of Judah.

По цьому збудував він зовнішній мур для Давидового Міста на захід від Ґіхону, в долині, до входу в Рибну браму, й оточив Офела й дуже високо підняв його. І понаставляв він військових зверхників по всіх укріплених містах Юдеї.

15 L ikewise, he took away the strange gods and the idol out of the house of the LORD and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD and in Jerusalem and cast them out of the city.

І повикидав він чужих богів та подобу боввана з Господнього дому, і всі жертівники, що він побудував був на горі Господнього дому та в Єрусалимі, і викинув те поза місто.

16 A nd he repaired the altar of the LORD and sacrificed upon it sacrifices of peace and of praise and commanded Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel.

І збудував він Господнього жертівника, і приніс на ньому жертви приносів мирних та вдячних, і звелів юдеям служити Господеві, Богові Ізраїлевому.

17 N evertheless, the people still sacrificed in the high places, yet unto the LORD their God only.

Але народ приносив жертви ще на пагірках, тільки вже Господеві, Богові своєму.

18 N ow the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God and the words of the seers that spoke to him in the name of the LORD God of Israel, behold, they are written in the acts of the kings of Israel.

А решта діл Манасії, і його молитва до Бога його, і слова прозорливців, що говорили до нього Ім'ям Господа, Бога Ізраїлевого, ото вони описані в історії Ізраїлевих царів.

19 H is prayer also and how he was heard, and all his sins, and his trespass, and the places upon which he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he humbled himself; behold, these things are written among the words of the seers.

А молитва його, і як Він був ублаганий, і ввесь його гріх та його спроневірення, і місця, що побудував на них пагірки й поставив Астарти та боввани перед своїм упокоренням, ось вони описані в словах його прозорливців.

20 S o Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house; and Amon, his son, reigned in his stead.

І спочив Манасія з батьками своїми, і поховали його в домі його, а замість нього зацарював син його Амон.

21 ¶ Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign and reigned two years in Jerusalem.

Амон був віку двадцяти й двох років, коли він зацарював, і царював він в Єрусалимі два роки.

22 B ut he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as Manasseh his father had done, for Amon sacrificed unto all the graven images which Manasseh, his father, had made, and served them.

І робив він зло Господніх очах, як робив його батько Манасія. А всім бовванам, яких наробив його батько Манасія, Амон приносив жертви та служив їм.

23 B ut he never humbled himself before the LORD as Manasseh, his father, humbled himself; to the contrary Amon multiplied the guilt.

І не впокорився він перед Господнім лицем, як упокорився був його батько Манасія, і він, Амон, побільшив провину.

24 A nd his slaves conspired against him and slew him in his own house.

І змовилися раби його на нього, і забили його в його домі.

25 B ut the people of the land slew all those that had conspired against King Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah, his son, king in his stead.

Та народ Краю перебив усіх змовників на царя Амона. І настановив народ Краю царем замість нього сина його Йосію.
