1 ¶ And it came to pass many days after the LORD had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about that Joshua waxed old and stricken in age.

І сталося по багатьох днях по тому, як Господь дав мир Ізраїлеві від усіх їхніх ворогів навколо, а Ісус постарів, увійшов у літа,

2 A nd Joshua called for all Israel and for their elders and for their princes and for their judges and for their officers and said unto them, I am old and stricken in age;

то покликав Ісус усього Ізраїля, його старших, і голів його, і суддів його, і урядників його, та й сказав до них: Я постарів, увійшов у літа.

3 a nd ye have seen all that the LORD your God has done with all these Gentiles in your presence; for the LORD your God has fought for you.

А ви бачили все, що зробив був Господь, Бог ваш, усім цим людям для вас, бо Господь, Бог ваш, Він Той воюючий для вас!

4 B ehold, I have divided unto you as inheritance unto your tribes all these Gentiles, those that remain as well as those that are destroyed, from the Jordan unto the great sea towards the going down of the sun.

Дивіться, ось я поділив вам жеребком цих позосталих людей на спадок для ваших племен від Йордану, і всі народи, що вигубив я, аж по море Велике, місце заходу сонця.

5 A nd the LORD your God, shall expel them from before you and drive them from out of your presence; and ye shall possess their lands, as the LORD your God has promised unto you.

А Господь, Бог ваш, Він пожене їх перед вами, і вижене їх перед вами, і ви посядете їхній Край, як говорив був Господь, Бог ваш, до вас.

6 B e ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses without turning aside to the right hand or to the left

І ви будете дуже сильні, щоб виконувати й чинити все, написане в книзі Закону Мойсеєвого, щоб не відхилятися від нього ані праворуч, ані ліворуч,

7 t hat ye not enter in among these Gentiles that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them,

щоб ви не змішувалися з цими людьми, цими позосталими з вами, а ім'я їхніх богів ви не згадаєте, і не будете заприсягати ними, і не будете служити їм, і не будете вклонятися їм,

8 b ut cleave unto the LORD your God, as ye have done unto this day.

бо ви будете горнутися тільки до Господа, Бога вашого, як робили ви аж до цього дня.

9 F or the LORD has driven out from before you great and strong Gentiles; and until now no one has been able to stand before your face.

І вигнав Господь перед вами народи великі та сильні, а ви не встояв ніхто перед вами аж до цього дня.

10 O ne man of you has chased a thousand; for the LORD your God, he himself has fought for you, as he has promised you.

Один чоловік із вас сам жене тисячу, бо Господь, Бог ваш Він той Вояк для вас, як говорив був Він вам.

11 ¶ Therefore take heed for your souls that ye love the LORD your God.

І будете ви дуже пильнувати про свої душі, щоб любити Господа, Бога вашого.

12 B ecause if ye do in any wise go back and cleave unto the remnant of these Gentiles that remain among you and shall make marriages with them and go in unto them and they to you,

Бо якщо справді будете ви відвертатися й приліпитеся до решти цих народів, цих позосталих із вами, і будете свататися з ними, і будете змішуватися з ними, а вони з вами,

13 k now for a certainty that the LORD your God will no longer drive out any of these Gentiles from before you, but they shall be snares and traps unto you and scourges in your sides and thorns in your eyes until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you.

то дійсно будете ви знати, що Господь, Бог ваш, більш не гнатиме ці народи перед вами, і вони стануть для вас сіткою й пасткою, та батогом на ваші боки, та терням на ваші очі, аж поки ви не вигинете з-над цієї доброї землі, яку дав вам Господь, Бог ваш.

14 A nd, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one word has failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spoke concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing has failed thereof.

А я оце сьогодні відходжу дорогою всієї землі. А ви будете знати всім своїм серцем та всією своєю душею, що не відпало ані одне слово зо всіх тих добрих слів, що про вас говорив був Господь, Бог ваш, усе збулося вам, не відпало з нього ані одне слово.

15 T herefore it shall come to pass that as all the good things are come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you, so shall the LORD bring upon you all the evil things until he has destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you

І станеться, отак, як збулося вам усе те добре слово, що про вас говорив був Господь, Бог ваш, так наведе Господь на вас усе те слово зле, аж поки Він вигубить вас з-над цієї доброї землі, яку вам дав Господь, Бог ваш.

16 w hen ye shall transgress the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, going in and serving other gods and bowing yourselves to them. And the anger of the LORD shall be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he has given unto you.

Коли ви переступите заповіта Господа, Бога вашого, що Він наказав вам, і підете й будете служити іншим богам, і будете вклонятися їм, то запалиться гнів Господній на вас, і ви скоро погинете з того хорошого Краю, що його Він вам дав.
