1 ¶ Now as Moses shepherded the sheep of Jethro, his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, he led the flock to the backside of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

А Мойсей пас отару тестя свого Їтра, жерця Мідіянського. І провадив він цю отару за пустиню, і прийшов був до Божої гори, до Хориву.

2 A nd the Angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush; and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

І явився йому Ангол Господній у полум'ї огняному з-посеред тернового куща. І побачив він, що та тернина горить огнем, але не згорає кущ.

3 T hen Moses said, I will now turn aside and see this great vision, why the bush is not burnt.

І сказав Мойсей: Зійду но, і побачу це велике видіння, чому не згорає та тернина?

4 A nd when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.

І побачив Господь, що він зійшов подивитися. І кликнув до нього Бог з-посеред тієї тернини і сказав: Мойсею, Мойсею! А той відказав: Ось я!

5 A nd he said, Do not come near; take off thy shoes from thy feet, for the place upon which thou dost stand is holy ground.

І сказав Він: Не зближайся сюди! Здійми взуття своє з ніг своїх, бо те місце, на якому стоїш ти, земля це свята!

6 M oreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses covered his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

І сказав: Я Бог батька твого, Бог Авраама, Бог Ісака й Бог Якова! І сховав Мойсей обличчя своє, бо боявся споглянуть на Бога!

7 ¶ And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;

І промовив Господь: Я справді бачив біду Свого народу, що в Єгипті, і почув його зойк перед його гнобителями, бо пізнав Я болі його.

8 a nd I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land unto a good and broad land, unto a land flowing with milk and honey, unto the places of the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite.

І Я зійшов, щоб визволити його з єгипетської руки, та щоб вивести його з цього краю до Краю доброго й широкого, до Краю, що тече молоком та медом до місця ханаанеянина, і хіттеянина, і амореянина, і періззеянина, і хіввеянина, і євусеянина.

9 T herefore, behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has now come before me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.

А тепер ось зойк Ізраїлевих синів дійшов до Мене, і Я також побачив той утиск, що ним єгиптяни їх тиснуть.

10 C ome now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh that thou may bring forth my people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.

А тепер іди ж, і Я пошлю тебе до фараона, і виведи з Єгипту народ Мій, синів Ізраїлевих!

11 ¶ Then Moses said unto God, Who am I that I should go unto Pharaoh and that I should bring forth the sons of Israel out of Egypt?

І сказав Мойсей до Бога: Хто я, що піду до фараона, і що виведу з Єгипту синів Ізраїлевих?

12 A nd he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.

А Він відказав: Та Я буду з тобою! А це тобі знак, що Я послав тебе: коли ти виведеш народ із Єгипту, то ви будете служити Богові на оцій горі.

13 A nd Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the sons of Israel and say unto them, The God of your fathers has sent me unto you, and if they say to me, What is his name? What shall I say unto them?

І сказав Мойсей до Бога: Ото я прийду до Ізраїлевих синів та й скажу їм: Бог ваших батьків послав мене до вас, то вони запитають мене: Яке Ім'я Його? Що я скажу їм?

14 A nd God answered unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM. And he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the sons of Israel: I AM (YHWH) has sent me unto you.

І сказав Бог Мойсеєві: Я Той, що є. І сказав: Отак скажеш Ізраїлевим синам: Сущий послав мене до вас.

15 A nd God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the sons of Israel: The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me unto you. This is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all ages.

І сказав іще Бог до Мойсея: Отак скажи Ізраїлевим синам: Господь, Бог батьків ваших, Бог Авраама, Бог Ісака й Бог Якова послав мене до вас. А оце Ім'я Моє навіки, і це пам'ять про Мене з роду в рід.

16 ¶ Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say unto them, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you and seen that which is done to you in Egypt,

Іди, збери старших Ізраїлевих та й скажи їм: Господь, Бог батьків ваших, явився мені, Бог Авраама, Ісака та Якова, говорячи: Згадуючи, згадав Я про вас, та про заподіяне вам ув Єгипті.

17 a nd I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite unto a land flowing with milk and honey.

І сказав Я: Я виведу вас з єгипетської біди до Краю ханаанеянина, і хіттеянина, й амореянина, і періззеянина, і хіввеянина, і євусеянина, до Краю, що тече молоком та медом.

18 A nd they shall hearken to thy voice, and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews has found us; therefore, we shall now go three days’ journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.

І вони послухають слова твого, і прийдеш ти та старші Ізраїлеві до єгипетського царя, та й скажете йому: Господь, Бог євреїв, стрівся був нам. А тепер ми підемо в триденну дорогу в пустиню, і складемо жертви Господеві, Богові нашому!

19 F or I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go except by a mighty hand.

І Я знаю, що єгипетський цар не дасть вам піти, як не буде змушений рукою сильною.

20 B ut I will stretch out my hand and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof, and after that he will let you go.

І Я витягну Свою руку, та й поб'ю Єгипет усіма чудами Моїми, що вчиню серед нього, а потому він відпустить вас.

21 A nd I will give this people grace in the eyes of the Egyptians, and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty;

І Я дам милість цьому народові в очах Єгипту, і станеться, коли підете, не підете ви впорожні!

22 b ut every woman shall demand of her neighbour and of her that sojourns in her house, vessels of silver and vessels of gold and clothing; and ye shall put them upon your sons and upon your daughters, and ye shall spoil Egypt.

Бо позичить жінка від сусідки своєї і від мешканки дому свого посуд срібний і посуд золотий та одежу, і покладете це на синів ваших та на дочок ваших, і заберете здобич від Єгипту.
