1 ¶ For, behold, in those days and in that time when I shall cause the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem to end,

(4-1) Бо ось тими днями та часу того, коли долю Юді та Єрусалиму верну,

2 I will gather together all the Gentiles, and will cause them to descend into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and there I will enter into judgment with them because of my people and of my heritage Israel, whom they scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

(4-2) то зберу всі народи, зведу їх у долину Йосафатову, і там буду судитися з ними за народ Мій й спадщину Мою, за Ізраїля, що його розпорошили поміж народами, а Мій Край поділили.

3 A nd they have cast lots for my people and have given a boy for a harlot and sold a girl for wine that they might drink.

(4-3) І за народ Мій вони кидали жереба, і юнака за блудницю давали, а дівчину за вино продавали, і пили.

4 Y ea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Philistia? will ye render me a recompense? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily I will return your recompense upon your own head;

(4-4) І що вам до Мене, Тире й Сидоне, та всі филистимські довкілля? Чи свій чин на Мені надолужите? Може хочете щось учинити Мені, то легко та скоро зверну Я ваш чин вам на голову,

5 b ecause ye have taken my silver and my gold and have carried into your temples my precious and beautiful things

(4-5) що срібло Моє й Моє золото позабирали, а коштовні клейноди Мої в свої храми повносили...

6 a nd ye have sold the sons of Judah and the sons of Jerusalem unto the Grecians that ye might remove them far from their border.

(4-6) А синів Юди та Єрусалиму ви грецьким синам продали, щоб їх віддалити від їхніх границь...

7 B ehold, I will raise them out of the place where ye have sold them and will return your recompense upon your own head:

(4-7) Ось Я їх позбуджую з місця того, куди їх продали, ваш чин поверну вам на голову!

8 a nd I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the sons of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the LORD has spoken it.

(4-8) І попродаю ваших синів та ваших дочок в руку Юдських синів, а вони віддадуть їх шев'янам, до люду далекого, бо Господь так сказав.

9 ¶ Proclaim this among the Gentiles: Prepare war; wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:

(4-9) Кличте про це між народами, оголосіте святую війну, збудіте лицарство, хай сходяться, нехай підіймаються всі вояки.

10 b eat your plowshares into swords and your pruninghooks into spears; let the weak say, I am strong.

(4-10) Перекуйте свої лемеші на мечі, а ваші серпи на списи, хай навіть безсилий говорить: Я лицар!

11 A ssemble yourselves and come, all ye Gentiles, and gather yourselves together round about; there cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.

(4-11) Поспішіть і прийдіть, всі народи з довкілля, й зберіться, туди, Господи, спустиш лицарство Своє.

12 L et the Gentiles be wakened and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat for there I will sit to judge all the Gentiles round about.

(4-12) Нехай збудяться й зійдуть народи в долину Йосафатову, бо сяду Я там, щоб судити всі народи з довкілля.

13 P ut in the sickle for the harvest is ripe; come, go down for the press is full, the vats overflow; for their wickedness is great.

(4-13) Пошліть на роботу серпа, бо жниво дозріло, приходьте, зійдіть, бо чавило наповнене, кадки переливаються, бо зло їхнє розмножилось!

14 M ultitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

(4-14) Натовпи, натовпи у вирішальній долині, бо близький день Господній у вирішальній долині.

15 T he sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.

(4-15) Сонце та місяць стемніють, а зорі загублять свій блиск,

16 T he LORD also shall roar out of Zion and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake; but the LORD will be the hope of his people and the strength of the sons of Israel.

(4-16) і Господь загримить із Сіону, та з Єрусалиму Свій голос подасть, і небо й земля затремтять, та Господь охорона Своєму народові, і твердиня синам Ізраїлевим!

17 S o shall ye know that I am the LORD your God, that I inhabit Zion, the mountain of my holiness: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and no strangers shall pass through her any more.

(4-17) І пізнаєте ви, що Я Господь, Бог ваш, Який пробуває в Сіоні, на святій Своїй горі. І станеться Єрусалим за святиню, і чужі вже не будуть ходити по ньому.

18 ¶ And it shall come to pass in that day that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD and shall water the valley of Shittim.

(4-18) І станеться в день той, гори будуть кропити виноградовий сік, а підгірки стоятимуть у молоці, і всі Юдські потоки водою заб'ють, а з дому Господнього вийде джерело, і напоїть долину Шіттім.

19 E gypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the sons of Judah because they have shed innocent blood in their land.

(4-19) Єгипет спустошенням стане, і пустинею голою стане Едом за насильство синам Юди, за те, що лили кров невинну у їхньому Краї.

20 B ut Judah shall dwell for ever; and Jerusalem from generation to generation.

(4-20) А Юдея жити буде повіки, і Єрусалим з роду в рід,

21 F or I will cleanse the blood of those whom I have not cleansed; for the LORD dwells in Zion.

(4-21) і помщу за їхню кров, що за неї Я ще не помстив, і буде Господь пробувати на Сіоні!
