1 ¶ And David spoke the words of this song unto the LORD in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies and out of the hand of Saul.

І промовив Давид до Господа слова оцієї пісні того дня, як Господь урятував був його з руки всіх його ворогів та з долоні Саулової,

2 ¶ And he said, The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer.

та й сказав: Господь моя скеля й твердиня моя, і для мене Спаситель Він мій!

3 G od is my Strong One; in him will I trust: he is my shield and the horn of my saving health; my defence and my refuge; my saviour, who shall save me from violence.

Мій Бог моя скеля, сховаюсь я в ній, Він щит мій і ріг, Він спасіння мого, Він башта моя та моє пристановище! Спасителю мій, Ти врятуєш мене від насилля!

4 I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.

Я кличу: Преславний Господь, і я визволений від своїх ворогів!

5 W hen the waves of death compassed me, the floods of Belial made me afraid;

Бо хвилі смертельні мене оточили, потоки велійяала лякають мене.

6 w hen the cords of Sheol compassed me about; the snares of death came before me;

Тенета шеолу мене оточили, а пастки смертельні мене попередили!

7 i n my distress I called upon the LORD and cried to my God, who heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry entered into his ears.

В тісноті своїй кличу до Господа, і до Бога свого я волаю, І Він почує мій голос із храму Свого, і в ушах Його зойк мій.

8 T hen the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of the heavens were moved and shook because he was wroth.

Захиталась земля й затремтіла, затряслися й хитались небесні підвалини, бо Він запалився від гніву!

9 S moke went up from his nostrils, and fire devoured out of his mouth; coals were kindled by it.

з ніздер Його бухнув дим, з Його ж уст пожирущий огонь, запаливсь жар від Нього!

10 A nd he lowered the heavens and came down, and darkness was under his feet.

Він небо простяг і спустився, а хмара густа під ногами Його.

11 A nd he rode upon a cherub and flew; and he appeared upon the wings of the wind.

Усівся Він на херувима й летів, і явився на вітряних крилах.

12 H e placed darkness like tabernacles round about him, dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

А навколо Себе поклав темряву, мов куріні, збір води, густі хмари високі.

13 F rom the brightness of his presence, coals of fire were kindled.

Від блиску, що був перед Ним, запалилось вугілля горюче.

14 T he LORD thundered from the heavens, and the most High uttered his voice;

Господь загримів у небесах, і Свій голос Всевишній подав.

15 h e sent out arrows and scattered them; he sent forth lightning, and consumed them.

Він послав Свої стріли та їх розпорошив, послав блискавку й їх побентежив.

16 T hen the springs of the sea appeared and the foundations of the world were uncovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

І показалися річища водні, і відкрились основи вселенної, від свару Твойого, о Господи, від подиху вітру із ніздер Його.

17 H e extended his hand from above, he took me; he drew me out of the impetuous waters;

Він послав із високости, узяв Він мене, витяг мене з вод великих.

18 h e delivered me from strong enemies, from those that hated me, who were stronger than I.

Він мене врятував від мойого потужного ворога, від моїх ненависників, бо сильніші від мене вони.

19 T hey came upon me unawares in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my stay.

Напали на мене вони в день нещастя мого, та Господь був моїм опертям.

20 H e brought me forth into a large place; he delivered me, because he had put his will in me.

І на місце широке Він вивів мене, Він мене врятував, бо вподобав мене!

21 T he LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he has recompensed me.

Нехай Господь зробить мені по моїй справедливості, хай заплатить мені згідно з чистістю рук моїх!

22 F or I have kept the ways of the LORD and have not wickedly departed from my God.

Бо беріг я дороги Господні, і від Бога свойого я не відступив,

23 F or I have all his ordinances before me and am attentive to his statutes; I will not depart from them.

бо всі Його присуди передо мною, постанови ж Його, не вступлюся від них!

24 A nd I was perfect before him and have kept myself from my iniquity.

І був я Йому непорочним, і стерігся своєї провини.

25 T herefore, the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness before his eyes.

Господь заплатив був мені по моїй справедливості, за чистотою моєю перед очима Його.

26 W ith the merciful thou art good, and with the perfect thou art upright.

З справедливим Ти справедливо поводишся, із чесним по-чесному,

27 W ith the pure thou art pure, and with the perverse thou art an adversary.

із чистим поводишся чисто, а з лукавим за лукавством його!

28 T hou wilt save the poor in spirit; but thine eyes are upon the haughty that thou may bring them down.

І народ із біди Ти спасаєш, а очі Твої на зухвалих, яких Ти принижуєш.

29 F or thou art my lamp, O LORD, and the LORD gives light unto my darkness.

Бо світильник Ти, Господи, мій, і освітить Господь мою темряву!

30 F or in thee I have run through a troop; with my God I have gone over the walls.

Бо з Тобою поб'ю я ворожого відділа, із Богом своїм проберусь через мур!

31 A s for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is purified; he is a shield to all those that trust in him.

Бог непорочна дорога Його, слово Господнє очищене, щит Він для всіх, хто вдається до Нього!

32 F or what God is there except the LORD? Or who is a Strong One, except our God?

Бо хто Бог, окрім Господа? І хто скеля, крім нашого Бога?

33 G od is he who strengthens me with virtue; he who clears my way;

Бог сильне моє пристановище, і дорогу мою Непорочний вивідував.

34 h e who makes my feet like hinds’ feet, and he who sets me upon my high places;

Він чинить ноги мої, як оленячі, і ставить мене на висотах моїх,

35 h e who trains my hands for war and causes my arms to break the bow of bronze.

Мої руки навчає до бою, і на рамена мої лука мідяного напинає.

36 T hou hast also given me the shield of thy saving health, and thy meekness has multiplied me.

І дав Ти мені щит спасіння Свого, і чинить великим мене Твоя поміч!

37 T hou hast enlarged my steps under me so that my knees did not shake.

Ти чиниш широким мій крок підо мною, і стопи мої не спіткнуться.

38 I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them and did not return until I had consumed them.

Жену я своїх ворогів, і повигублюю їх, і не вернуся, аж поки не винищу їх!

39 A nd I consumed them and wounded them, and they did not arise; they are fallen under my feet.

Я їх повигублюю й їх потрощу, і не встануть вони, і повпадають під ноги мої.

40 F or thou hast girded me with strength for the battle; thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.

Ти ж для бою мене підперізуєш силою, валиш під мене моїх ворохобників.

41 T hou hast given me the necks of my enemies, of those that hate me, that I might cut them off.

Повернув Ти плечима до мене моїх ворогів, моїх ненависників, й я їх понищу!

42 T hey looked, but there was no one to save them; even unto the LORD, but he did not answer them.

Озирались вони та немає спасителя, кликали до Господа і не відповів їм!

43 T hen I beat them as small as the dust of the earth; I stamped them as the mire of the street and spread them abroad.

І я їх зітру, як той порох землі, як болото на вулицях їх розітру й розтопчу їх!

44 T hou also hast delivered me from the strivings of peoples; thou hast kept me to be head of the Gentiles; peoples whom I did not know have served me.

Ти ж від бунту народу мойого мене бережеш, на голову люду мене стережеш, мені будуть служити народи, яких я й не знав!

45 T he strangers trembled before my command; as soon as they heard, they obeyed me.

Передо мною чужинці підлещуються, на вістку про мене слухняні мені.

46 T he strangers withered away and trembled in their close places.

В'януть чужинці, і тремтять у твердинях своїх.

47 T he LORD lives, and blessed be my rock, and exalted be the God who is the rock of my salvation.

Живий Господь, і благословенна будь, Скеле моя, і нехай піднесеться Бог скелі спасіння мого!

48 T he God who has given me revenge and who subjects the peoples under me,

Бог, що помсти за мене дає, і що народи під мене познижував,

49 w ho brings me forth from among my enemies; thou hast lifted me up on high from among those that rose up against me; thou hast delivered me from the man of violence.

що рятує мене від моїх ворогів, Ти звеличив мене над повстанців на мене, спасаєш мене від насильника!

50 T herefore, I will confess thee among the Gentiles, O LORD, and I will sing unto thy name.

Тому то хвалю Тебе, Господи, серед народів, Іменню Твоєму співаю!

51 H e who makes great the saving health of his king and shows mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for ever.

Ти башта спасіння Свойого царя, і милість вчиняєш Своєму помазанцеві, Давиду й насінню його аж навіки!
