1 ¶ And David spoke the words of this song unto the LORD in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies and out of the hand of Saul.

Khi Đức Giê-hô-va đã giải cứu Đa-vít khỏi tay các thù nghịch và khỏi tay Sau-lơ, thì người hát các lời nầy mà ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va,

2 ¶ And he said, The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer.

rằng: Đức Giê-hô-va là hòn đá và đồn lũy tôi, Đấng giải cứu tôi.

3 G od is my Strong One; in him will I trust: he is my shield and the horn of my saving health; my defence and my refuge; my saviour, who shall save me from violence.

Đức Chúa Trời tôi là hòn đá tôi, nơi tôi sẽ nương náu mình, Là thuẫn đỡ tôi, sừng chửng cứu tôi, Ngọn tháp cao và nơi nương dựa của tôi; Hỡi Đấng che chở tôi! ấy Ngài giải cứu tôi khỏi sự hung bạo.

4 I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.

Tôi sẽ kêu cầu cùng Đức Giê-hô-va, là Đấng đáng khen ngợi; Thì tôi sẽ được giải cứu khỏi các thù nghịch tôi.

5 W hen the waves of death compassed me, the floods of Belial made me afraid;

Các lượng sóng của tử vong đã phủ bao tôi, Lụt gian ác chảy cuộn làm cho tôi sợ hãi;

6 w hen the cords of Sheol compassed me about; the snares of death came before me;

Những dây của địa ngục đã vấn tôi, Lưới sự chết có hãm bắt tôi.

7 i n my distress I called upon the LORD and cried to my God, who heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry entered into his ears.

Trong cơn hoạn nạn tôi cầu khẩn Đức Giê-hô-va, Tôi kêu la cùng Đức Chúa Trời tôi. Ở nơi đền Ngài nghe tiếng tôi, Tiếng kêu cầu của tôi thấu đến tai Ngài.

8 T hen the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of the heavens were moved and shook because he was wroth.

Bấy giờ, đất động và rung, Nền các từng trời cũng lay chuyển, Nó rúng động, vì Ngài nổi giận.

9 S moke went up from his nostrils, and fire devoured out of his mouth; coals were kindled by it.

Khói bay ra từ lỗ mũi Ngài, Và từ miệng Ngài phát ra ngọn lửa hực. Ngài khiến than hừng đỏ phun ra,

10 A nd he lowered the heavens and came down, and darkness was under his feet.

Làm nghiêng lệch các từng trời, và ngự xuống, Dưới chơn Ngài có vùng đen kịt.

11 A nd he rode upon a cherub and flew; and he appeared upon the wings of the wind.

Ngài cỡi một chê-ru-bin và bay; Ngài hiện ra trên cánh của gió.

12 H e placed darkness like tabernacles round about him, dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

Ngài bủa ra sự tối tăm, những vùng nước, những mây đen mịt, Chung quanh mình như một cái trại.

13 F rom the brightness of his presence, coals of fire were kindled.

Từ sự rực rỡ ở trước mặt Ngài, Những than hực chiếu sáng ra.

14 T he LORD thundered from the heavens, and the most High uttered his voice;

Đức Giê-hô-va sấm sét trên các từng trời, Đấng Chí cao làm cho tiếng Ngài vang rân.

15 h e sent out arrows and scattered them; he sent forth lightning, and consumed them.

Ngài bắn tên, làm cho quân thù tôi tản lạc, Phát chớp nhoáng, khiến chúng nó lạc đường.

16 T hen the springs of the sea appeared and the foundations of the world were uncovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

Bởi lời hăm he của Đức Giê-hô-va, Bởi gió xịt ra khỏi lỗ mũi Ngài, Đáy biển bèn lộ ra, Nền thế gian bị bày tỏ.

17 H e extended his hand from above, he took me; he drew me out of the impetuous waters;

Từ trên cao, Ngài giơ tay nắm tôi, Rút tôi ra khỏi nước sâu.

18 h e delivered me from strong enemies, from those that hated me, who were stronger than I.

Ngài giải cứu tôi khỏi kẻ thù nghịch cường bạo, Khỏi kẻ ghét tôi, vì chúng nó mạnh hơn tôi.

19 T hey came upon me unawares in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my stay.

Trong ngày hoạn nạn chúng nó đến xông vào tôi; Nhưng Đức Giê-hô-va nâng đỡ tôi.

20 H e brought me forth into a large place; he delivered me, because he had put his will in me.

Ngài đem tôi ra nơi rộng rãi, Giải cứu tôi, vì Ngài ưa thích tôi.

21 T he LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he has recompensed me.

Đức Giê-hô-va đã thưởng tôi tùy sự công bình tôi, Báo tôi theo sự thanh sạch của tay tôi.

22 F or I have kept the ways of the LORD and have not wickedly departed from my God.

Vì tôi có giữ theo các đường lối của Đức Giê-hô-va, Không làm ác xây bỏ Đức Chúa Trời tôi.

23 F or I have all his ordinances before me and am attentive to his statutes; I will not depart from them.

Vì các mạng lịnh của Ngài đều ở trước mặt tôi, Tôi chẳng lìa xa các luật lệ Ngài.

24 A nd I was perfect before him and have kept myself from my iniquity.

Tôi cũng ở trọn vẹn với Ngài, Và giữ lấy mình khỏi gian ác.

25 T herefore, the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness before his eyes.

Vì vậy, Đức Giê-hô-va đã báo tôi tùy sự công bình tôi, Thưởng tôi theo sự tinh sạch tôi trước mặt Ngài.

26 W ith the merciful thou art good, and with the perfect thou art upright.

Kẻ hay thương xót, Chúa sẽ thương xót lại; Đối cùng kẻ trọn vẹn, Chúa sẽ tỏ mình trọn vẹn lại.

27 W ith the pure thou art pure, and with the perverse thou art an adversary.

Đối cùng kẻ tinh sạch, Chúa sẽ tỏ mình tinh sạch lại; Còn đối cùng kẻ trái nghịch, Chúa sẽ tỏ mình nhặt nhiệm lại.

28 T hou wilt save the poor in spirit; but thine eyes are upon the haughty that thou may bring them down.

Vì Chúa cứu dân bị khốn khổ; Nhưng mắt Chúa coi chừng kẻ kiêu căng đặng làm chúng nó bị hạ xuống.

29 F or thou art my lamp, O LORD, and the LORD gives light unto my darkness.

Đức Giê-hô-va ôi! thật Ngài làm ngọn đèn tôi, Và Đức Giê-hô-va sẽ chiếu sáng sự tối tăm tôi.

30 F or in thee I have run through a troop; with my God I have gone over the walls.

Nhờ Ngài tôi sẽ xông ngang qua đạo binh, Cậy Đức Chúa Trời tôi, tôi vượt khỏi tường thành.

31 A s for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is purified; he is a shield to all those that trust in him.

Còn Đức Chúa Trời, các đường của Ngài vốn là trọn vẹn, Lời của Đức Giê-hô-va là tinh tường. Ngài là cái thuẫn cho mọi người nương náu mình nơi Ngài.

32 F or what God is there except the LORD? Or who is a Strong One, except our God?

Vậy, trừ ra Đức Giê-hô-va ai là Đức Chúa Trời? Ai là hòn đá lớn, nếu không phải là Đức Chúa Trời chúng ta?

33 G od is he who strengthens me with virtue; he who clears my way;

Đức Chúa Trời là đồn lũy vững chắc của tôi, Ngài dắt người trọn vẹn vào đường chánh đáng.

34 h e who makes my feet like hinds’ feet, and he who sets me upon my high places;

Ngài làm cho chơn tôi lẹ như chơn nai cái, Và để tôi đứng trên các nơi cao của tôi.

35 h e who trains my hands for war and causes my arms to break the bow of bronze.

Ngài tập tay tôi chiến trận, Đến đỗi cánh tay tôi gương nổi cung đồng.

36 T hou hast also given me the shield of thy saving health, and thy meekness has multiplied me.

Chúa đã ban sự chửng cứu cho tôi làm cái khiên, Và sự hiền từ Chúa đã làm cho tôi nên sang trọng.

37 T hou hast enlarged my steps under me so that my knees did not shake.

Chúa mở rộng đường dưới bước tôi, Và chơn tôi không xiêu tó.

38 I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them and did not return until I had consumed them.

Tôi đuổi theo kẻ thù nghịch tôi, và hủy diệt nó, Chỉ trở về sau khi đã tận diệt chúng nó.

39 A nd I consumed them and wounded them, and they did not arise; they are fallen under my feet.

Tôi trừ tiệt, đâm lủng chúng nó, không thể dậy lại được; Chúng nó sa ngã dưới chơn tôi.

40 F or thou hast girded me with strength for the battle; thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.

Vì Chúa đã thắt lưng tôi bằng sức mạnh để chiến trận, Và khiến kẻ dấy nghịch cùng tôi xếp rệp dưới tôi.

41 T hou hast given me the necks of my enemies, of those that hate me, that I might cut them off.

Chúa cũng khiến kẻ thù nghịch xây lưng cùng tôi, Hầu cho tôi diệt những kẻ ghét tôi.

42 T hey looked, but there was no one to save them; even unto the LORD, but he did not answer them.

Chúng nó trông ngóng, nhưng chẳng ai cứu cho; Chúng nó kêu cùng Đức Giê-hô-va, song Ngài không đáp lại.

43 T hen I beat them as small as the dust of the earth; I stamped them as the mire of the street and spread them abroad.

Bấy giờ tôi đập giập chúng nó khác nào bụi dưới đất; Chà nát, giày đạp chúng nó giống như bùn ngoài đường.

44 T hou also hast delivered me from the strivings of peoples; thou hast kept me to be head of the Gentiles; peoples whom I did not know have served me.

Chúa đã giải cứu tôi khỏi sự tranh giành của dân sự tôi, Gìn giữ tôi để làm đầu các nước; Một dân tộc tôi không quen biết sự phục sự tôi.

45 T he strangers trembled before my command; as soon as they heard, they obeyed me.

Các người ngoại quốc sẽ phục dưới tôi; Vừa nghe nói về tôi, chúng nó đều vâng theo tôi.

46 T he strangers withered away and trembled in their close places.

Các người ngoại quốc sẽ tàn mọt, Đi ra khỏi chỗ ẩn mình cách run sợ.

47 T he LORD lives, and blessed be my rock, and exalted be the God who is the rock of my salvation.

Đức Giê-hô-va hằng sống; đáng ngợi khen hòn đá lớn tôi! Nguyện Đức Chúa Trời, là hòn đá của sự chửng cứu tôi, được tôn cao!

48 T he God who has given me revenge and who subjects the peoples under me,

Từ là Đức Chúa Trời báo thù cho tôi, Khiến các dân tộc qui phục tôi.

49 w ho brings me forth from among my enemies; thou hast lifted me up on high from among those that rose up against me; thou hast delivered me from the man of violence.

Ngài giải cứu tôi khỏi kẻ thù nghịch; Thật Chúa nâng tôi lên cao hơn kẻ dấy nghịch cùng tôi, Và cứu tôi khỏi người hung bạo.

50 T herefore, I will confess thee among the Gentiles, O LORD, and I will sing unto thy name.

Vì vậy, Đức Giê-hô-va ôi! Tôi sẽ khen ngợi Ngài tại giữa các dân, Và ca tụng danh của Ngài.

51 H e who makes great the saving health of his king and shows mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for ever.

Đức Giê-hô-va ban cho vua của Ngài sự giải cứu lớn lao, Và làm ơn cho đấng chịu xức dầu của Ngài, Tức là cho Đa-vít và cho dòng dõi người, đến đời đời.
