1 ¶ Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit.

Khốn nạn cho ta! vì ta như khi đã hái trái mùa hạ rồi, và như nho đã mót lại, không có một buồng nho để ăn, trái vả đầu mùa mà linh hồn ta vẫn ước ao cũng không có.

2 T he merciful man of the earth is missing: and there is no one upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt each man his brother with a net.

Người tin kính đã mất đi khỏi đất; không còn có kẻ ngay thẳng trong loài người. Chúng nó thảy đều rình rập để làm đổ máu; ai nấy đều lấy lưới săn anh em mình.

3 T o complete the evil with their hands, the prince demands, and the judge judges for a reward; and the great man speaks the desires of his heart: and they confirm it.

Tay chúng nó chúng nó chăm làm sự dữ. Quan trưởng thì đòi của, quan xét thì tham hối lộ, còn người lớn thì nói sự ưa muốn dữ của lòng mình; vậy thì cùng nhau đan dệt.

4 T he best of them is as a brier; the most upright as a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen, thy visitation, comes; now shall be their confusion.

Người lành hơn hết trong chúng nó giống như chà chuôm, còn kẻ rất ngay thẳng lại xấu hơn hàng rào gai gốc. Ngày của kẻ canh giữ ngươi, tức là ngày thăm phạt ngươi, đã đến rồi, nay chúng nó sẽ bối rối.

5 D o not believe in a friend, do not trust in a prince; from her that lies at thy side, take care, open not thy mouth.

Chớ tin người lân cận của các ngươi, và chớ để lòng tin cậy nơi bạn hữu mình; hãy giữ đừng mở miệng ra cùng người đờn bà ngủ trong lòng ngươi.

6 F or the son dishonours the father, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies are those of his own house.

Vì con trai sỉ nhục cha, con gái dấy lên nghịch cùng mẹ, dâu nghịch cùng bà gia, và kẻ thù nghịch của người tức là người nhà mình.

7 ¶ Therefore I will wait for the LORD; I will wait for the God of my saving health; my God will hear me.

Nhưng ta, ta sẽ nhìn xem Đức Giê-hô-va, chờ đợi Đức Chúa Trời của sự cứu rỗi ta; Đức Chúa Trời ta sẽ nghe ta.

8 D o not rejoice against me, O my enemy; for if I have fallen, I shall arise; if I sit in darkness, the LORD is my light.

Hỡi kẻ thù ta, chớ vui mừng vì cớ ta. Ta dầu bị ngã, sẽ lại dậy; dầu ngồi trong nơi tối tăm, Đức Giê-hô-va sẽ làm sự sáng cho ta.

9 I will bear the indignation of the LORD because I have sinned against him, until he has judged my cause and executed my judgment; he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.

Ta chịu lấy sự thạnh nộ của Đức Giê-hô-va vì ta đã phạm tội nghịch cùng Ngài, cho đến chừng Ngài đã binh vực lẽ ta và phán xét cho ta, thì Ngài sẽ dắt ta đến sự sáng và ta sẽ thấy sự công bình của Ngài.

10 T hen she that is my enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her who said unto me, Where is the LORD thy God? my eyes shall behold her: now she shall be trodden down as the mire of the streets.

Kẻ thù ta sẽ thấy sự ấy và sẽ bị xấu hổ. Nó là kẻ đã bảo ta rằng: Chớ nào Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời ngươi ở đâu? Mắt ta sẽ thấy sự ta ước ao xuống trên nó; nay nó sẽ bị giày đạp như bùn ngoài đường.

11 I n the day that thy walls shall be built unto thee, in that day shall the decree of thy slavery be far removed.

Ngày đến, là khi các tường thành của ngươi sẽ được xây đắp, trong ngày đó luật lịnh sẽ bị dời xa.

12 I n that day also he shall come even to thee from Assyria and from the fortified cities and from the fortress even to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain.

Trong ngày đó người ta sẽ đến cùng ngươi, từ A-si-ri và từ các thành Ê-díp-tô, từ Ê-díp-tô cho đến Sông cái, từ biển nầy cho đến biển kia, từ núi nầy cho đến núi khác.

13 A nd the land with those that dwell therein shall be made desolate, for the fruit of their doings.

Nhưng đất nầy sẽ trở nên hoang vu vì cớ sự báo trả về việc làm của dân cư nó.

14 ¶ Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell only in the mountain, in the midst of Carmel; let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the time of old.

Hãy dùng gậy chăn dân ngươi, tức là bầy của sản nghiệp ngươi, ở một mình trong rừng giữa Cạt-mên; hãy cho nó ăn cỏ trong Ba-san và Ga-la-át, như trong những ngày xưa.

15 I will show you marvellous things as in the day when thou came out of Egypt.

Ta sẽ tỏ ra cho chúng nó những sự lạ, như trong những ngày mà ngươi ra khỏi đất Ê-díp-tô.

16 T he Gentiles shall see and be ashamed at all thy mighty acts: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall become deaf.

Các nước thấy sự đó, sẽ bị xấu hổ về cả sức mạnh mình; chúng nó sẽ đặt tay trên miệng, và tai chúng nó sẽ điếc.

17 T hey shall lick the dust like a serpent; as the serpents of the earth, they shall tremble in their holes; they shall be filled with fear of the LORD our God and shall also fear thee.

Chúng nó sẽ liếm bụi như con rắn, và run rẩy mà ra khỏi hang mình như loài bò trên đất; sẽ kinh hãi mà đến cùng Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời chúng ta, và vì Ngài mà khiếp sợ.

18 W ho is a God like unto thee that pardons iniquity, and passes over the rebellion with the remnant of his heritage? He did not retain his anger for ever because he delights in mercy.

Ai là Đức Chúa Trời giống như Ngài, tha thứ sự gian ác, và bỏ qua sự phạm pháp của dân sót của sản nghiệp Ngài? Ngài không cưu giận đời đời, vì Ngài lấy sự nhơn từ làm vui thích.

19 H e will turn again, he will have mercy on us; he will subdue our iniquities; and will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.

Ngài sẽ còn thương xót chúng tôi, giập sự gian ác chúng tôi dưới chơn Ngài; và ném hết thảy tội lỗi chúng nó xuống đáy biển.

20 T hou wilt perform the truth to Jacob and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the times of old.
