1 ¶ Job answered and said,

А Йов відповів та й сказав:

2 H ow hast thou helped the one who has no power? Hast thou saved with thy arm the one who has no strength?

Як безсилому ти допоміг, як рамено підпер ти неможному?

3 H ow hast thou counselled the one that has no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?

Що ти радив немудрому, й яку раду подав багатьом?

4 T o whom hast thou uttered words, and whose is the spirit that comes forth from thee?

Кому ти слова говорив, і чий дух вийшов з тебе?

5 ¶ Dead things are formed under the waters and of its dwelling places.

Рефаїми тремтять під водою й всі її мешканці.

6 S heol is naked before him, and hell has no covering.

Голий шеол перед Ним, і нема покриття Аваддону.

7 H e stretches out the north wind over the empty place and hangs the earth upon nothing.

Він над порожнечею північ простяг, на нічому Він землю повісив.

8 H e binds up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.

Він зав'язує воду в Своїх облаках, і не розбивається хмара під ними.

9 H e holds back the face of his throne and spreads his cloud upon it.

Він поставив престола Свого, розтягнув над ним хмару Свою.

10 H e has compassed the waters with bounds until the end of light and darkness.

На поверхні води Він зазначив межу аж до границі між світлом та темрявою.

11 T he pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.

Стовпи неба тремтять та страшаться від гніву Його.

12 H e divides the sea with his power, and by his intelligence he smites its pride.

Він міццю Своєю вспокоює море, і Своїм розумом нищить Рагава.

13 B y his spirit he has adorned the heavens; his hand has formed the fleeing serpent.

Своїм Духом Він небо прикрасив, рука Його в ньому створила втікаючого Скорпіона.

14 B ehold, these are parts of his ways; but how little a portion have we heard of him? For the thunder of his power, who shall understand?

Таж це все самі кінці дороги Його, бо ми тільки слабке шепотіння чували про Нього, грім потуги ж Його хто його зрозуміє?...
