1 ¶ And he entered into a ship and passed over and came into his own city.

І, сівши до човна, Він переплинув, і до міста Свого прибув.

2 A nd, behold, they brought him a paralyzed man, lying on a bed; and Jesus, seeing their faith, said unto the paralyzed man, Trust, son; thy sins are forgiven thee.

І ото, принесли до Нього розслабленого, що на ложі лежав. І, як побачив Ісус їхню віру, сказав розслабленому: Будь бадьорий, сину! Прощаються тобі гріхи твої!

3 A nd, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemes.

І ось, дехто із книжників стали казати про себе: Він богозневажає.

4 A nd Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Why think ye evil in your hearts?

Ісус же думки їхні знав і сказав: Чого думаєте ви лукаве в серцях своїх?

5 F or what is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee, or to say, Arise, and walk?

Що легше, сказати: Прощаються тобі гріхи, чи сказати: Уставай та й ходи?

6 B ut that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins (then said he to the paralyzed man), Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.

Але щоб ви знали, що прощати гріхи на землі має владу Син Людський, тож каже Він розслабленому: Уставай, візьми ложе своє, та й іди у свій дім!

7 T hen he arose and departed to his house.

Той устав і пішов у свій дім.

8 A nd the multitude, seeing it, marvelled and glorified God, who had given such power unto men.

А натовп, побачивши це, налякався, і славив Бога, що людям Він дав таку владу!...

9 ¶ And as Jesus passed forth from there, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom; and he said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.

А коли Ісус звідти проходив, побачив чоловіка, на ймення Матвія, що сидів на митниці, та й каже йому: Іди за Мною! Той устав, і пішов услід за Ним.

10 A nd it came to pass, as he sat at food in his house, behold, many publicans and sinners that had come sat down at the table with Jesus and his disciples.

І сталось, як Ісус сидів при столі у домі, ось зійшлося багато митників і грішників, і вони посідали з Ним та з Його учнями.

11 A nd when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why does your Master eat with publicans and sinners?

Як побачили ж те фарисеї, то сказали до учнів Його: Чому то Вчитель ваш їсть із митниками та із грішниками?

12 B ut when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, Those that are whole need not a physician, but those that are sick.

А Він це почув та й сказав: Лікаря не потребують здорові, а слабі!

13 T herefore go ye and learn what this is, I will have mercy and not sacrifice, for I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.

Ідіть же, і навчіться, що то є: Милости хочу, а не жертви. Бо Я не прийшов кликати праведних, але грішників до покаяння.

14 ¶ Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but thy disciples do not fast?

Тоді приступили до Нього Іванові учні та й кажуть: Чому постимо ми й фарисеї, а учні Твої не постять?

15 A nd Jesus said unto them, Can the sons of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then they shall fast.

Ісус же промовив до них: Хіба можуть гості весільні сумувати, поки з ними ще є молодий? Але прийдуть ті дні, коли заберуть молодого від них, тоді й постити будуть вони.

16 N o one mends an old garment with a piece of new cloth, for that patch takes from the garment, and the rent is made worse.

До одежі ж старої ніхто не вставляє латки з сукна сирового, бо збіжиться воно, і дірка стане ще гірша.

17 N either do they put new wine into old wineskins, otherwise the wineskins break, and the wine runs out, and the wineskins perish; but they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved together.

І не вливають вина молодого в старі бурдюки, а то бурдюки розірвуться, і вино розіллється, і бурдюки пропадуть; а вливають вино молоде до нових бурдюків, і одне й друге збережено буде.

18 ¶ While he spoke these things unto them, behold, a certain ruler came and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead; but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.

Коли Він говорив це до них, підійшов ось один із старших, уклонився Йому та й говорить: Дочка моя хвилі цієї померла. Та прийди, поклади Свою руку на неї, і вона оживе.

19 A nd Jesus arose and followed him, and so did his disciples.

І підвівся Ісус, і пішов услід за ним, також учні Його.

20 A nd, behold, a woman who was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years came behind him and touched the hem of his garment;

І ото одна жінка, що дванадцять літ хворою на кровотечу була, приступила ззаду, і доторкнулась до краю одежі Його.

21 f or she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be free.

Бо вона говорила про себе: Коли хоч доторкнуся одежі Його, то одужаю.

22 B ut Jesus turned around, and when he saw her, he said, Trust, daughter; thy faith has made thee free. And the woman was free from that hour.

Ісус, обернувшись, побачив її та й сказав: Будь бадьорою, дочко, твоя віра спасла тебе! І одужала жінка з тієї години.

23 A nd when Jesus came into the ruler’s house and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,

А Ісус, як прибув до господи старшого, і вздрів дударів та юрбу голосільників,

24 h e said unto them, Give place, for the maid is not dead, but sleeps. And they laughed him to scorn.

то сказав: Відійдіть, бо не вмерло дівча, але спить. І насміхалися з Нього.

25 B ut when the people were put forth, he went in and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.

А коли народ випроваджено, Він увійшов, узяв за руку її, і дівчина встала!

26 A nd the fame of this went abroad into all that land.

І вістка про це розійшлася по всій тій країні.

27 ¶ And when Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed him, crying out and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.

Коли ж Ісус звідти вертався, ішли за Ним два сліпці, що кричали й казали: Змилуйсь над нами, Сину Давидів!

28 A nd when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yes, Lord.

І коли Він додому прийшов, приступили до Нього сліпці. А Ісус до них каже: Чи ж вірите ви, що Я можу вчинити оце? Говорять до Нього вони: Так, Господи.

29 T hen he touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

Тоді Він доторкнувся до їхніх очей і сказав: Нехай станеться вам згідно з вашою вірою!

30 A nd their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no one knows it.

І очі відкрилися їм. А Ісус наказав їм суворо, говорячи: Глядіть, щоб ніхто не довідавсь про це!

31 B ut they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.

А вони відійшли, та й розголосили про Нього по всій тій країні.

32 A nd as they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a demon.

Коли ж ті виходили, то ось привели до Нього чоловіка німого, що був біснуватий.

33 A nd when the demon was cast out, the dumb man spoke; and the multitude marvelled, saying, Such a thing has never been seen in Israel.

І як демон був вигнаний, німий заговорив. І дивувався народ і казав: Ніколи таке не траплялося серед Ізраїля!

34 B ut the Pharisees said, He casts out demons through the prince of the demons.

Фарисеї ж казали: Виганяє Він демонів силою князя демонів.

35 ¶ And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every sickness and every weakness among the people.

І обходив Ісус всі міста та оселі, навчаючи в їхніх синагогах, та Євангелію Царства проповідуючи, і вздоровлюючи всяку недугу та неміч усяку.

36 A nd when he saw the multitude, he was moved with compassion on them because they fainted and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

А як бачив людей, змилосерджувався Він над ними, бо були вони змучені та розпорошені, як ті вівці, що не мають пастуха.

37 T hen he said unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

Тоді Він казав Своїм учням: Жниво справді велике, та робітників мало;

38 p ray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

тож благайте Господаря жнива, щоб на жниво Своє Він робітників вислав.
