1 ¶ Listen, O isles, unto me, and hearken, ye peoples, from far, The LORD has called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother he has remembered my name.

Почуйте Мене, острови, і народи здалека, вважайте: Господь із утроби покликав Мене, Моє Ймення згадав з нутра неньки Моєї.

2 A nd he has made my mouth like a sharp sword; with the shadow of his hand he has covered me, and made me a clean arrow; in his quiver he has kept me.

І Мої уста вчинив Він, як той гострий меч, заховав Мене в тіні Своєї руки, і Мене вчинив за добірну стрілу, в Своїм сагайдаці заховав Він Мене.

3 A nd he said unto me, Thou art my slave, O Israel; in thee I will glory.

І до Мене прорік: Ти раб Мій, Ізраїлю, Яким Я прославлюсь!

4 B ut I said, I have laboured in vain; I have spent my strength for nothing, and in vain; yet surely my judgment is before the LORD and my recompense with my God.

І Я відповів: Надаремно трудивсь Я, на порожнечу й марноту зужив Свою силу: Справді ж з Господом право Моє, і нагорода Моя з Моїм Богом.

5 A nd now, saith the LORD, he that formed me from the womb to be his slave, so that Jacob might be converted unto him. But if Israel will not be gathered, even so, yet I shall be esteemed in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.

Тепер же промовив Господь, що Мене вформував Собі від живота за раба, щоб навернути Собі Якова, і щоб Ізраїль для Нього був зібраний. І був Я шанований в очах Господніх, а Мій Бог стався міццю Моєю.

6 A nd he said, It is a light thing that thou should be my slave to wake up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the desolations of Israel; I have also given thee for a light to the Gentiles that thou may be my saving health unto the end of the earth.

І Він сказав: Того мало, щоб був Ти Мені за раба, щоб відновити племена Якова, щоб вернути врятованих Ізраїля, але Я вчиню Тебе світлом народів, щоб був Ти спасінням Моїм аж до краю землі!

7 ¶ Thus has the LORD said, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, to him whom man despises, to him whom the Gentiles abhor, to the slave of the tyrants, Kings shall see and be raised up as princes and shall worship because of the LORD, for faithful is the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen thee.

Так говорить Господь, Відкупитель Ізраїлів, Святий його, до погордженого на душі, до обридженого від людей, до раба тих володарів: Побачать царі, і князі повстають, і поклоняться ради Господа, що вірний, ради Святого Ізраїлевого, що вибрав Тебе.

8 T hus has the LORD said, In an acceptable time I have heard thee, and in the day of saving health I have helped thee; and I will preserve thee and give thee for a covenant of people, that thou might awaken the earth, that thou might inherit the desolate heritages;

Так говорить Господь: За часу вподобання Я відповів Тобі, в день спасіння Тобі допоміг, і стерегтиму Тебе, і дам Я Тебе заповітом народові, щоб край обновити, щоб поділити спадки спустошені,

9 t hat thou may say to the prisoners, Go forth; and unto those that are in darkness, Show yourselves. Upon the ways shall they be fed, and upon all the high places shall be their pastures.

щоб в'язням сказати: Виходьте, а тим, хто в темноті: З'явіться! При дорогах вони будуть пастися, і по всіх лисих горбовинах їхні пасовиська.

10 T hey shall never hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that has mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water he shall feed them.

Не будуть голодні вони, ані спрагнені, і не вдарить їх спека, ні сонце, бо Той, Хто їх милує, їх попровадить і до водних джерел поведе їх.

11 A nd I will turn all my mountains into a way, and my highways shall be exalted.

І вчиню Я всі гори Свої за дорогу, і підіймуться биті шляхи Мої.

12 B ehold, these shall come from far; and, behold, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.

Ось ці здалека прийдуть, а ці ось із півночі й з заходу, а ці з краю Сінім.

13 ¶ Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD has comforted his people and will have mercy upon his afflicted.

Радійте, небеса, звеселися ти, земле, ви ж, гори, втішайтеся співом, бо Господь звеселив Свій народ, і змилувався над Своїми убогими!

14 B ut Zion said, The LORD has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me.

І сказав був Сіон: Господь кинув мене, і Господь мій про мене забув...

15 C an a woman forget her sucking child that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Even though they may forget, I will not forget thee.

Чи ж жінка забуде своє немовля, щоб не пожаліти їй сина утроби своєї? Та коли б вони позабували, то Я не забуду про тебе!

16 B ehold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

Отож на долонях Своїх тебе вирізьбив Я, твої мури позавсіди передо Мною.

17 T hy builders shall come in haste; thy destroyers and those that made thee waste shall go forth of thee.

Синове твої поспішаться до тебе, а ті, хто руйнує тебе й ті, хто нищить тебе, повідходять від тебе.

18 ¶ Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely clothe thyself with them all, as with a garment of honour and shalt be girded by them as a bride.

Здійми свої очі навколо й побач: всі вони позбиралися й йдуть ось до тебе! Як живий Я, говорить Господь: усіх їх, як оздобу, зодягнеш, та підв'яжешся ними, немов наречена.

19 F or thy waste and thy desolate places and the land of thy destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and those that destroyed thee shall be separated far away.

Бо руїни твої та пустині твої, і зруйнований край твій тепер справді стануть тісними для мешканців, і будуть віддалені ті, хто тебе руйнував.

20 E ven thy sons which were fatherless, shall say in thine ears, The place is too strait for me; give place to me that I may dwell.

Іще до вух твоїх скажуть синове сирітства твого: Тісне мені місце оце, посунься для мене, й я сяду!

21 T hen shalt thou say in thine heart, Who has begotten me these, seeing I had lost my children and was desolate, a stranger removed from my land? and who has brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?

І ти скажеш у серці своїм: Хто мені їх зродив, як була осирочена я та самітна, була вигнана та заблудила? І хто виховав їх? Я зосталась сама, а ці, звідки вони?

22 T hus has the Lord GOD said, Behold, I will lift up my hand to the Gentiles and raise up my banner as an example to the peoples: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.

Так сказав Господь Бог: Ось Я підійму Свою руку до людів, і піднесу до народів прапора Свого, і позносять синів твоїх в пазусі, а дочок твоїх поприносять на плечах.

23 A nd kings shall be thy nursing fathers and their princesses thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for those that wait for me shall not be ashamed.

І будуть царі за твоїх вихователів, а їхні цариці за няньок твоїх. Лицем до землі вони будуть вклонятись тобі та лизатимуть пил твоїх ніг, і ти пізнаєш, що Я то Господь, що не посоромляться ті, хто на Мене надіється!

24 ¶ Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?

Чи ж від сильного буде віднята здобич, і чи награбоване гвалтівником урятоване буде?

25 B ut thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contends with thee, and I will save thy sons.

Бо Господь каже так: Полонені відібрані будуть від сильного, і врятована буде здобич насильника, і Я стану на прю із твоїми суперечниками, синів же твоїх Я спасу.

26 A nd I will feed those that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

І Я змушу твоїх гнобителів їсти тіло своє, і вони повпиваються власною кров'ю, немов би вином молодим... І пізнає тоді кожне тіло, що Я то Господь, твій Спаситель та твій Відкупитель, Потужний Яковів!
