1 ¶ Listen, O isles, unto me, and hearken, ye peoples, from far, The LORD has called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother he has remembered my name.

Höret mir zu, ihr Inseln, und ihr Völker in der Ferne, merket auf! Der HERR hat mich gerufen von Mutterleib an; er hat meines Namens gedacht, da ich noch im Schoß der Mutter war,

2 A nd he has made my mouth like a sharp sword; with the shadow of his hand he has covered me, and made me a clean arrow; in his quiver he has kept me.

und hat meinen Mund gemacht wie ein scharfes Schwert; mit dem Schatten seiner Hand hat er mich bedeckt; er hat mich zum glatten Pfeil gemacht und mich in seinen Köcher gesteckt

3 A nd he said unto me, Thou art my slave, O Israel; in thee I will glory.

und spricht zu mir: Du bist mein Knecht Israel, durch welchen ich will gepriesen werden.

4 B ut I said, I have laboured in vain; I have spent my strength for nothing, and in vain; yet surely my judgment is before the LORD and my recompense with my God.

Ich aber dachte, ich arbeite vergeblich und brächte meine Kraft umsonst und unnütz zu, wiewohl meine Sache des Herrn und mein Amt meines Gottes ist.

5 A nd now, saith the LORD, he that formed me from the womb to be his slave, so that Jacob might be converted unto him. But if Israel will not be gathered, even so, yet I shall be esteemed in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.

Und nun spricht der HERR, der mich von Mutterleib an zu seinem Knechte bereitet hat, daß ich soll Jakob zu ihm bekehren, auf daß Israel nicht weggerafft werde (darum bin ich dem HERRN herrlich, und mein Gott ist mein Stärke),

6 A nd he said, It is a light thing that thou should be my slave to wake up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the desolations of Israel; I have also given thee for a light to the Gentiles that thou may be my saving health unto the end of the earth.

und spricht: Es ist ein Geringes, daß du mein Knecht bist, die Stämme Jakobs aufzurichten und die Bewahrten Israels wiederzubringen; sondern ich habe dich auch zum Licht der Heiden gemacht, daß du seist mein Heil bis an der Welt Ende.

7 ¶ Thus has the LORD said, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, to him whom man despises, to him whom the Gentiles abhor, to the slave of the tyrants, Kings shall see and be raised up as princes and shall worship because of the LORD, for faithful is the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen thee.

So spricht der HERR, der Erlöser Israels, sein Heiliger, zu der verachteten Seele, zu dem Volk, das man verabscheut, zu dem Knecht, der unter den Tyrannen ist: Könige sollen sehen und aufstehen, und Fürsten sollen niederfallen um des HERRN willen, der treu ist, um des Heiligen in Israel willen, der dich erwählt hat.

8 T hus has the LORD said, In an acceptable time I have heard thee, and in the day of saving health I have helped thee; and I will preserve thee and give thee for a covenant of people, that thou might awaken the earth, that thou might inherit the desolate heritages;

So spricht der HERR: Ich habe dich erhört zur gnädigen Zeit und habe dir am Tage des Heils geholfen und habe dich behütet und zum Bund unter das Volk gestellt, daß du das Land aufrichtest und die verstörten Erbe austeilest;

9 t hat thou may say to the prisoners, Go forth; and unto those that are in darkness, Show yourselves. Upon the ways shall they be fed, and upon all the high places shall be their pastures.

zu sagen den Gefangenen: Geht heraus! und zu denen in der Finsternis: Kommt hervor! daß sie am Wege weiden und auf allen Hügeln ihr Weide haben.

10 T hey shall never hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that has mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water he shall feed them.

Sie werden weder hungern noch dürsten, sie wird keine Hitze noch Sonne stechen, denn ihr Erbarmer wird sie führen und wird sie an die Wasserquellen leiten.

11 A nd I will turn all my mountains into a way, and my highways shall be exalted.

Ich will alle meine Berge zum Wege machen, und meine Pfade sollen gebahnt sein.

12 B ehold, these shall come from far; and, behold, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.

Siehe, diese werden von ferne kommen, und siehe, jene von Mitternacht und diese vom Meer und jene von Lande Sinim.

13 ¶ Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD has comforted his people and will have mercy upon his afflicted.

Jauchzet, ihr Himmel, freue dich, Erde, lobet, ihr Berge, mit Jauchzen; denn der HERR hat sein Volk getröstet und erbarmt sich seiner Elenden.

14 B ut Zion said, The LORD has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me.

Zion aber spricht: Der HERR hat mich verlassen, der HERR hat mein vergessen.

15 C an a woman forget her sucking child that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Even though they may forget, I will not forget thee.

Kann auch ein Weib ihres Kindleins vergessen, daß sie sich nicht erbarme über den Sohn ihres Leibes? Und ob sie desselben vergäße, so will ich doch dein nicht vergessen.

16 B ehold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

Siehe, in die Hände habe ich dich gezeichnet; deine Mauern sind immerdar vor mir.

17 T hy builders shall come in haste; thy destroyers and those that made thee waste shall go forth of thee.

Deine Baumeister werden eilen; aber deine Zerbrecher und Verstörer werden sich davonmachen.

18 ¶ Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely clothe thyself with them all, as with a garment of honour and shalt be girded by them as a bride.

Hebe deine Augen auf umher und siehe: alle diese kommen versammelt zu dir. So wahr ich lebe, spricht der HERR, du sollst mit diesen allen wie mit einem Schmuck angetan werden und wirst sie um dich legen wie eine Braut.

19 F or thy waste and thy desolate places and the land of thy destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and those that destroyed thee shall be separated far away.

Denn dein wüstes, verstörtes und zerbrochenes Land wird dir alsdann zu eng werden, darin zu wohnen, wenn deine Verderber fern von dir weichen,

20 E ven thy sons which were fatherless, shall say in thine ears, The place is too strait for me; give place to me that I may dwell.

daß die Kinder deiner Unfruchtbarkeit werden noch sagen vor deinen Ohren: Der Raum ist mir zu eng; rücke hin, daß ich bei dir wohnen möge.

21 T hen shalt thou say in thine heart, Who has begotten me these, seeing I had lost my children and was desolate, a stranger removed from my land? and who has brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?

Du aber wirst sagen in deinem Herzen: Wer hat mir diese geboren? Ich war unfruchtbar, einsam, vertrieben und verstoßen. Wer hat mir diese erzogen? Siehe, ich war allein gelassen; wo waren denn diese?

22 T hus has the Lord GOD said, Behold, I will lift up my hand to the Gentiles and raise up my banner as an example to the peoples: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.

So spricht der HERR HERR: Siehe, ich will meine Hand zu den Heiden aufheben und zu den Völkern mein Panier aufwerfen; so werden sie deine Söhne in den Armen herzubringen und deine Töchter auf den Achseln hertragen.

23 A nd kings shall be thy nursing fathers and their princesses thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for those that wait for me shall not be ashamed.

Und Könige sollen deine Pfleger, und ihre Fürstinnen deine Säugammen sein; sie werden vor dir niederfallen zur Erde aufs Angesicht und deiner Füße Staub lecken. Da wirst du erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin, an welchem nicht zu Schanden werden, die auf mich harren.

24 ¶ Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?

Kann man auch einem Riesen den Raub nehmen? oder kann man dem Gerechten seine Gefangenen losmachen?

25 B ut thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contends with thee, and I will save thy sons.

Denn so spricht der HERR: Nun sollen die Gefangenen dem Riesen genommen werden und der Raub des Starken los werden; und ich will mit deinen Haderern hadern und deinen Kindern helfen.

26 A nd I will feed those that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

Und ich will deine Schinder speisen mit ihrem eigenen Fleisch, und sie sollen von ihrem eigenen Blut wie von süßem Wein trunken werden; und alles Fleisch soll erfahren, daß ich bin der HERR, dein Heiland, und dein Erlöser der Mächtige in Jakob.
