1 ¶ Then the LORD said unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my will would not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.

Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Und wenngleich Mose und Samuel vor mir stünden, so habe ich doch kein Herz zu diesem Volk; treibe sie weg von mir und laß sie hinfahren!

2 A nd it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Where shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus hath the LORD said: Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity.

Und wenn sie zu dir sagen: Wo sollen wir hin? so sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR: Wen der Tod trifft, den treffe er; wen das Schwert trifft, den treffe es; wen der Hunger trifft, den treffe er; wen das Gefängnis trifft, den treffe es.

3 A nd I will visit over them four kinds of evil, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven and the beasts of the earth to devour and destroy.

Denn ich will sie heimsuchen mit vielerlei Plagen, spricht der HERR: mit dem Schwert, daß sie erwürgt werden; mit Hunden, die sie schleifen sollen; mit den Vögeln des Himmels und mit Tieren auf Erden, daß sie gefressen und vertilgt werden sollen.

4 A nd I will give them over to be sifted by all the kingdoms of the earth because of Manasseh, the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.

Und ich will sie in allen Königreichen auf Erden hin und her treiben lassen um Manasses willen, des Sohnes Hiskias, des Königs in Juda, um deswillen, was er zu Jerusalem begangen hat.

5 F or who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who is to come to ask regarding thy peace?

Wer will denn sich dein erbarmen, Jerusalem? Wer wird denn Mitleiden mit dir haben? Wer wird denn hingehen und dir Frieden wünschen?

6 T hou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD; thou art gone backward: therefore, I stretched out my hand over thee and cast thee away; I am tired of repenting.

Du hast mich verlassen, spricht der HERR, und bist von mir abgefallen; darum habe ich meine Hand ausgestreckt wider dich, daß ich dich verderben will; ich bin des Erbarmens müde.

7 A nd I fanned them with a fan unto the gates of the land; I bereaved them of children, I wasted my people; they did not turn from their ways.

Ich will sie mit der Wurfschaufel zum Lande hinausworfeln und will mein Volk, so von seinem Wesen sich nicht bekehren will, zu eitel Waisen machen und umbringen.

8 T heir widows are multiplied unto me more than the sand of the sea: I have brought upon them a destroyer at noonday against the young; I have caused him to fall upon her suddenly, and terrors upon the city.

Es sollen mir mehr Witwen unter ihnen werden, denn Sand am Meer ist. Ich will über die Mutter der jungen Mannschaft kommen lassen einen offenbaren Verderber und die Stadt damit plötzlich und unversehens überfallen lassen,

9 S he that has borne seven languishes; her soul is filled with sorrow; her sun is gone down while it was yet day; she has been ashamed and confounded; and the residue of them I will deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.

daß die, die sieben Kinder hat, soll elend sein und von Herzen seufzen. Denn ihre Sonne soll bei hohem Tage untergehen, daß ihr Ruhm und ihre Freude ein Ende haben soll. Und die übrigen will ich ins Schwert geben vor ihren Feinden, spricht der HERR.

10 ¶ Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them curses me.

Ach, meine Mutter, daß du mich geboren hast, wider den jedermann hadert und zankt im ganzen Lande! Habe ich doch weder auf Wucher geliehen noch genommen; doch flucht mir jedermann.

11 T he LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.

Der HERR sprach: Wohlan, ich will euer etliche übrigbehalten, denen es soll wieder wohl gehen, und will euch zu Hilfe kommen in der Not und Angst unter den Feinden.

12 S hall iron break the iron from the place of the north wind and the bronze?

Meinst du nicht, daß etwa ein Eisen sei, welches könnte das Eisen und Erz von Mitternacht zerschlagen?

13 T hy riches and thy treasures I will give to the spoil without price, and that for all thy sins, even in all thy borders.

Ich will aber zuvor euer Gut und eure Schätze zum Raub geben, daß ihr nichts dafür kriegen sollt, und das um aller eurer Sünden willen, die ihr in allen euren Grenzen begangen habt.

14 A nd I will make thee to serve thine enemies in a land which thou dost not know; for a fire is kindled in my anger, which shall burn upon you.

Und ich will euch zu euren Feinden bringen in ein Land, das ihr nicht kennt; denn es ist das Feuer in meinem Zorn über euch angegangen.

15 ¶ O LORD, thou knowest: remember me and visit me and revenge me of my enemies; do not take me away in the prolongation of thy anger, know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke.

Ach HERR, du weißt es; gedenke an mich und nimm dich meiner an und räche mich an meinen Verfolgern. Nimm mich auf und verzieh nicht deinem Zorn über sie; denn du weißt, daß ich um deinetwillen geschmäht werde.

16 T hy words were found, and I ate them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart: for thy name was called upon me, O LORD God of the hosts.

Dein Wort ward mir Speise, da ich's empfing; und dein Wort ist meines Herzens Freude und Trost; denn ich bin ja nach deinem Namen genannt; HERR, Gott Zebaoth.

17 I did not sit in the assembly of the mockers, nor did I become puffed up by reason of thy prophecy; I sat alone because thou hast filled me with indignation.

Ich habe mich nicht zu den Spöttern gesellt noch mich mit ihnen gefreut, sondern bin allein geblieben vor deiner Hand; denn du hattest mich gefüllt mit deinem Grimm.

18 W hy was my pain perpetual and my wound incurable, which refuses to be healed? Wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar and as waters that fail?

Warum währt doch mein Leiden so lange, und meine Wunden sind so gar böse, daß sie niemand heilen kann? Du bist mir geworden wie ein Born, der nicht mehr quellen will.

19 T herefore thus hath the LORD said, If thou wilt return, then I will bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me; and if thou wilt take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth; let them return unto thee, but return not thou unto them.

Darum spricht der HERR also: Wo du dich zu mir hältst, so will ich mich zu dir halten, und du sollst mein Prediger bleiben. Und wo du die Frommen lehrst sich sondern von den bösen Leuten, so sollst du mein Mund sein. Und ehe du solltest zu ihnen fallen, so müssen sie eher zu dir fallen.

20 A nd I will give thee unto this people as a fenced brazen wall, and they shall fight against thee but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to keep thee and to defend thee, said the LORD.

Denn ich habe dich wider dies Volk zur festen, ehernen Mauer gemacht; ob sie wider dich streiten, sollen sie dir doch nichts anhaben; denn ich bin bei dir, daß ich dir helfe und dich errette, spricht der HERR,

21 A nd I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will ransom thee out of the hand of the strong.

und will dich erretten aus der Hand der Bösen und erlösen aus der Hand der Tyrannen.
