1 ¶ Now the sons of Israel after their number, who were chief fathers and captains of thousands and hundreds, and their officers that served the king in any matter of the courses, who came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, each course was of twenty-four thousand.

Dies sind aber die Kinder Israel nach ihrer Zahl, die Häupter der Vaterhäuser und die Obersten über tausend und über hundert, und ihre Amtleute, die dem König dienten, nach ihren Ordnungen, die ab und zu zogen, einen jeglichen Monat eine, in allen Monaten des Jahres. Eine jegliche Ordnung aber hatte vierundzwanzigtausend.

2 O ver the first course for the first month was Jashobeam, the son of Zabdiel, and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

Über die erste Ordnung des ersten Monats war Jasobeam, der Sohn Sabdiels; und unter seiner Ordnung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.

3 O f the sons of Perez was the chief of all the captains of the host for the first month.

Er war aus den Kinder Perez und war der Oberste über alle Hauptleute der Heere im ersten Monat.

4 A nd over the course of the second month was Dodai, an Ahohite, and in his course was prince Mikloth; in his course likewise were twenty-four thousand.

Über die Ordnung des zweiten Monats war Dodai, der Ahohiter, und Mikloth war Fürst über seine Ordnung; und unter seiner Ordnung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.

5 T he third captain of the host for the third month was Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, a chief priest: and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

Der dritte Feldhauptmann des dritten Monats, der Oberste, war Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas, des Priesters: und unter seiner Ordnung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.

6 T his is that Benaiah, who was mighty among the thirty, and above the thirty; and in his course was Ammizabad, his son.

Das ist Benaja, der Held unter den dreißigen und über die dreißig; und seine Ordnung war unter seinem Sohn Ammisabad.

7 T he fourth for the fourth month was Asahel, the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him; and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

8 T he fifth for the fifth month was prince Shamhuth, the Izrahite; and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

Der fünfte im fünften Monat war Samehuth, der Jishariter; und unter seine Ordnung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.

9 T he sixth for the sixth month was Ira, the son of Ikkesh of Tekoah; and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

Der sechste im sechsten Monat war Ira, der Sohn des Ikkes, der Thekoiter; und unter seiner Ordnung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.

10 T he seventh for the seventh month was Helez, the Pelonite, of the sons of Ephraim; and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

11 T he eighth for the eighth month was Sibbecai, the Hushathite, of Zarhi; and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

16 ¶ Presiding, likewise, over the tribes of Israel: over the Reubenites was prince Eliezer, the son of Zichri; over the Simeonites, Shephatiah, the son of Maachah.

19 O ver those of Zebulun, Ishmaiah, the son of Obadiah. Over those of Naphtali, Jerimoth, the son of Azriel.

22 A nd over Dan, Azareel, the son of Jeroham. These were the princes of the tribes of Israel.

23 B ut David did not number those twenty years old and under because the LORD had said he would multiply Israel like to the stars of the heavens.

Aber David nahm nicht die Zahl derer, die von zwanzig Jahren und darunter waren; denn der HERR hatte verheißen, Israel zu mehren wie die Sterne am Himmel.

24 J oab, the son of Zeruiah, had begun to number, but he did not finish; and because of this, wrath fell upon Israel; and thus the number was not put in the account of the chronicles of King David.

Joab aber, der Zeruja Sohn, der hatte angefangen zu zählen, und vollendete es nicht; denn es kam darum ein Zorn über Israel. Darum kam die Zahl nicht in die Chronik des Königs David.

25 A nd Azmaveth, the son of Adiel, had charge of the king’s treasures and of the treasures of the fields, of the cities, and of the villages, and of the castles, was Jehonathan, the son of Uzziah;

Über den Schatz des Königs war Asmaveth, der Sohn Abdiels; und über die Schätze auf dem Lande in Städten, Dörfern und Türmen war Jonathan, der Sohn Usias.

26 a nd over those that did the work of the tillage of the ground in the fields was Ezri the son of Chelub;

Über die Ackerleute, das Land zu bauen, war Esri, der Sohn Chelubs.

27 a nd over the vineyards was Shimei, the Ramathite; over the increase of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi, the Shiphmite;

Über die Weinberge war Simei, der Ramathiter; über die Weinkeller und Schätze des Weins war Sabdi, der Sephamiter.

28 a nd over the olive trees and the sycamore trees that were in the low plains was Baalhanan, the Gederite; and over the cellars of oil, Joash;

Über die Ölgärten und Maulbeerbäume in den Auen war Baal-Hanan, der Gaderiter. Über den Ölschatz war Joas.

29 a nd over the cows that fed in Sharon was Shitrai, the Sharonite; and over the cows that were in the valleys was Shaphat, the son of Adlai;

Über die Weiderinder zu Saron war Sitrai, der Saroniter; aber über die Rinder in den Gründen war Saphat, der Sohn Adlais.

30 o ver the camels, Obil, the Ishmaelite; and over the asses, Jehdeiah, the Meronothite;

Über die Kamele war Obil, der Ismaeliter. Über die Esel war Jehdeja, der Meronothiter.

31 a nd over the sheep was Jaziz, the Hagerite. All these were the princes of the substance which was King David’s.

Über die Schafe war Jasis, der Hagariter. Diese waren alle Oberste über die Güter des Königs David.

32 A nd Jonathan, David’s uncle, was a counsellor, a wise man, and a scribe; and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni had charge of the king’s sons.

Jonathan aber, Davids Vetter, war Rat, ein verständiger und gelehrter Mann. Und Jehiel, der Sohn Hachmonis, war bei den Söhnen des Königs.

33 A hithophel was the king’s counsellor; and Hushai, the Archite, was the king’s companion.

Ahithophel war auch Rat des Königs. Husai, der Arachiter, war des Königs Freund.

34 A nd after Ahithophel was Jehoiada, the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar. And Joab was the general of the king’s army.

Nach Ahithophel war Jojada, der Sohn Benajas, und Abjathar. Joab aber war der Feldhauptmann des Königs.
