1 ¶ LORD, thou hast been favourable unto thy land; thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.

(Ein Psalm der Kinder Korah, vorzusingen.) HERR, der du bist vormals gnädig gewesen deinem Lande und hast die Gefangenen Jakobs erlöst;

2 T hou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people; thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.

der du die Missetat vormals vergeben hast deinem Volk und alle ihre Sünde bedeckt (sela);

3 T hou hast taken away all thy wrath; thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.

der du vormals hast allen deinen Zorn aufgehoben und dich gewendet von dem Grimm deines Zorns:

4 T urn us, O God our saving health and cause thine anger toward us to cease.

tröste uns, Gott, unser Heiland, und laß ab von deiner Ungnade über uns!

5 W ilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou extend thine anger from generation to generation?

Willst du denn ewiglich über uns zürnen und deinen Zorn gehen lassen für und für?

6 W ilt thou not give us life again that thy people may rejoice in thee?

Willst du uns denn nicht wieder erquicken, daß sich dein Volk über dich freuen möge?

7 S how us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy saving health.

HERR, erzeige uns deine Gnade und hilf uns!

8 ¶ I will hear what God the LORD will speak, for he will speak peace unto his people and to his saints, that they not turn again to folly.

Ach, daß ich hören sollte, was Gott der HERR redet; daß er Frieden zusagte seinem Volk und seinen Heiligen, auf daß sie nicht auf eine Torheit geraten!

9 S urely his saving health is near those that fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.

Doch ist ja seine Hilfe nahe denen, die ihn fürchten, daß in unserm Lande Ehre wohne;

10 M ercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

daß Güte und Treue einander begegnen, Gerechtigkeit und Friede sich küssen;

11 T ruth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from the heavens.

daß Treue auf der Erde wachse und Gerechtigkeit vom Himmel schaue;

12 T he LORD shall give that which is good, and our land shall bring forth her fruit.

daß uns auch der HERR Gutes tue und unser Land sein Gewächs gebe;

13 R ighteousness shall go before him and shall set his steps in the way.

daß Gerechtigkeit weiter vor ihm bleibe und im Schwange gehe.
