1 D ies sind aber die Kinder Israel nach ihrer Zahl, die Häupter der Vaterhäuser und die Obersten über tausend und über hundert, und ihre Amtleute, die dem König dienten, nach ihren Ordnungen, die ab und zu zogen, einen jeglichen Monat eine, in allen Monaten des Jahres. Eine jegliche Ordnung aber hatte vierundzwanzigtausend.

¶ Now the sons of Israel after their number, who were chief fathers and captains of thousands and hundreds, and their officers that served the king in any matter of the courses, who came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, each course was of twenty-four thousand.

3 E r war aus den Kinder Perez und war der Oberste über alle Hauptleute der Heere im ersten Monat.

Of the sons of Perez was the chief of all the captains of the host for the first month.

4 Ü ber die Ordnung des zweiten Monats war Dodai, der Ahohiter, und Mikloth war Fürst über seine Ordnung; und unter seiner Ordnung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.

And over the course of the second month was Dodai, an Ahohite, and in his course was prince Mikloth; in his course likewise were twenty-four thousand.

5 D er dritte Feldhauptmann des dritten Monats, der Oberste, war Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas, des Priesters: und unter seiner Ordnung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.

The third captain of the host for the third month was Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, a chief priest: and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

6 D as ist Benaja, der Held unter den dreißigen und über die dreißig; und seine Ordnung war unter seinem Sohn Ammisabad.

This is that Benaiah, who was mighty among the thirty, and above the thirty; and in his course was Ammizabad, his son.

7 D er vierte im vierten Monat war Asahel, Joabs Bruder, und nach ihm Sebadja, sein Sohn; und unter seiner Ordnung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.

The fourth for the fourth month was Asahel, the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him; and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

8 D er fünfte im fünften Monat war Samehuth, der Jishariter; und unter seine Ordnung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.

The fifth for the fifth month was prince Shamhuth, the Izrahite; and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

9 D er sechste im sechsten Monat war Ira, der Sohn des Ikkes, der Thekoiter; und unter seiner Ordnung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.

The sixth for the sixth month was Ira, the son of Ikkesh of Tekoah; and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

10 D er siebente im siebenten Monat war Helez, der Peloniter, aus den Kindern Ephraim; und unter seiner Ordnung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.

The seventh for the seventh month was Helez, the Pelonite, of the sons of Ephraim; and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

11 D er achte im achten Monat war Sibbechai, der Husathiter, aus den Serahitern; und unter seiner Ordnung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.

The eighth for the eighth month was Sibbecai, the Hushathite, of Zarhi; and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

12 D er neunte im neunten Monat war Abieser, der Anathothiter, aus den Benjaminitern; und unter seiner Ordnung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.

The ninth for the ninth month was Abiezer, the Anetothite, of the Benjamites; and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

13 D er zehnte im zehnten Monat war Maherai, der Netophathiter, aus den Serahitern; und unter seiner Ordnung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.

The tenth for the tenth month was Maharai, the Netophathite of Zarhi; and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

14 D er elfte im elften Monat war Benaja der Pirathoniter, aus den Kindern Ephraim; und unter seiner Ordnung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.

The eleventh for the eleventh month was Benaiah, the Pirathonite, of the sons of Ephraim; and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

15 D er zwölfte im zwölften Monat war Heldai, der Netophathiter, aus Othniel; und unter seiner Ordnung waren vierundzwanzigtausend.

The twelfth for the twelfth month was Heldai, the Netophathite of Othniel; and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

16 Ü ber die Stämme Israels aber waren diese: unter den Rubenitern war Fürst: Elieser, der Sohn Sichris; unter den Simeonitern war Sephatja, der Sohn Maachas;

¶ Presiding, likewise, over the tribes of Israel: over the Reubenites was prince Eliezer, the son of Zichri; over the Simeonites, Shephatiah, the son of Maachah.

17 u nter den Leviten war Hasabja, der Sohn Kemuels; unter den Aaroniten war Zadok;

Over the Levites, Hashabiah, the son of Kemuel. Over the Aaronites, Zadok.

18 u nter Juda war Elihu aus den Brüdern Davids; unter Isaschar war Omri, der Sohn Michaels;

Over Judah, Elihu, one of the brethren of David. Over those of Issachar, Omri, the son of Michael.

19 u nter Sebulon war Jismaja, der Sohn Obadjas; unter Naphthali war Jeremoth, der Sohn Asriels;

Over those of Zebulun, Ishmaiah, the son of Obadiah. Over those of Naphtali, Jerimoth, the son of Azriel.

20 u nter den Kindern Ephraim war Hosea, der Sohn Asasjas; unter dem halben Stamm Manasse war Joel, der Sohn Pedajas;

Over the sons of Ephraim, Hosea, the son of Azaziah. Over the half tribe of Manasseh, Joel, the son of Pedaiah.

21 u nter dem halben Stamm Manasse in Gilead war Iddo, der Sohn Sacharjas; unter Benjamin war Jaesiel, der Sohn Abners;

Over the other half tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo, the son of Zechariah. Over those of Benjamin, Jaasiel, the son of Abner.

22 u nter Dan war Asareel, der Sohn Jerohams. Das sind die Fürsten der Stämme Israels.

And over Dan, Azareel, the son of Jeroham. These were the princes of the tribes of Israel.

23 A ber David nahm nicht die Zahl derer, die von zwanzig Jahren und darunter waren; denn der HERR hatte verheißen, Israel zu mehren wie die Sterne am Himmel.

But David did not number those twenty years old and under because the LORD had said he would multiply Israel like to the stars of the heavens.

24 J oab aber, der Zeruja Sohn, der hatte angefangen zu zählen, und vollendete es nicht; denn es kam darum ein Zorn über Israel. Darum kam die Zahl nicht in die Chronik des Königs David.

Joab, the son of Zeruiah, had begun to number, but he did not finish; and because of this, wrath fell upon Israel; and thus the number was not put in the account of the chronicles of King David.

25 Ü ber den Schatz des Königs war Asmaveth, der Sohn Abdiels; und über die Schätze auf dem Lande in Städten, Dörfern und Türmen war Jonathan, der Sohn Usias.

And Azmaveth, the son of Adiel, had charge of the king’s treasures and of the treasures of the fields, of the cities, and of the villages, and of the castles, was Jehonathan, the son of Uzziah;

26 Ü ber die Ackerleute, das Land zu bauen, war Esri, der Sohn Chelubs.

and over those that did the work of the tillage of the ground in the fields was Ezri the son of Chelub;

27 Ü ber die Weinberge war Simei, der Ramathiter; über die Weinkeller und Schätze des Weins war Sabdi, der Sephamiter.

and over the vineyards was Shimei, the Ramathite; over the increase of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi, the Shiphmite;

28 Ü ber die Ölgärten und Maulbeerbäume in den Auen war Baal-Hanan, der Gaderiter. Über den Ölschatz war Joas.

and over the olive trees and the sycamore trees that were in the low plains was Baalhanan, the Gederite; and over the cellars of oil, Joash;

29 Ü ber die Weiderinder zu Saron war Sitrai, der Saroniter; aber über die Rinder in den Gründen war Saphat, der Sohn Adlais.

and over the cows that fed in Sharon was Shitrai, the Sharonite; and over the cows that were in the valleys was Shaphat, the son of Adlai;

30 Ü ber die Kamele war Obil, der Ismaeliter. Über die Esel war Jehdeja, der Meronothiter.

over the camels, Obil, the Ishmaelite; and over the asses, Jehdeiah, the Meronothite;

31 Ü ber die Schafe war Jasis, der Hagariter. Diese waren alle Oberste über die Güter des Königs David.

and over the sheep was Jaziz, the Hagerite. All these were the princes of the substance which was King David’s.

32 J onathan aber, Davids Vetter, war Rat, ein verständiger und gelehrter Mann. Und Jehiel, der Sohn Hachmonis, war bei den Söhnen des Königs.

And Jonathan, David’s uncle, was a counsellor, a wise man, and a scribe; and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni had charge of the king’s sons.

33 A hithophel war auch Rat des Königs. Husai, der Arachiter, war des Königs Freund.

Ahithophel was the king’s counsellor; and Hushai, the Archite, was the king’s companion.

34 N ach Ahithophel war Jojada, der Sohn Benajas, und Abjathar. Joab aber war der Feldhauptmann des Königs.

And after Ahithophel was Jehoiada, the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar. And Joab was the general of the king’s army.
