1 W enn nun über dich kommt dies alles, es sei der Segen oder der Fluch, die ich dir vorgelegt habe, und du in dein Herz gehst, wo du unter den Heiden bist, dahin dich der HERR, dein Gott, verstoßen hat,

¶ And it shall come to pass when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse which I have set before thee, and thou shalt return unto thy heart among all the Gentiles, where the LORD thy God shall have driven thee,

2 u nd bekehrst dich zu dem HERRN, deinem Gott, daß du seiner Stimme gehorchest, du und deine Kinder, von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele, in allem, was ich dir heute gebiete,

and shalt convert unto the LORD thy God and shalt hear his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart and with all thy soul,

3 s o wird der HERR, dein Gott, dein Gefängnis wenden und sich deiner erbarmen und wird dich wieder versammeln aus allen Völkern, dahin dich der HERR, dein Gott, verstreut hat.

then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity and have mercy upon thee and will return and gather thee from all the peoples where the LORD thy God has scattered thee.

4 W enn du bis an der Himmel Ende verstoßen wärest, so wird dich doch der HERR, dein Gott, von dort sammeln und dich von dort holen

If thou hast been driven out unto the outmost parts of the heavens, from there will the LORD thy God gather thee and from there will he take thee;

5 u nd wird dich in das Land bringen, das deine Väter besessen haben, und wirst es einnehmen, und er wird dir Gutes tun und dich mehren über deine Väter.

and the LORD thy God will return thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt inherit it; and he will do thee good and multiply thee more than thy fathers.

6 U nd der HERR, dein Gott, wird dein Herz beschneiden und das Herz deiner Nachkommen, daß du den HERRN, deinen Gott, liebst von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele, auf daß du leben mögest.

And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart and with all thy soul, that thou may live.

7 A ber diese Flüche wird der HERR, dein Gott, alle auf deine Feinde legen und auf die, so dich hassen und verfolgen;

And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies and on those that hate thee, who persecuted thee.

8 d u aber wirst dich bekehren und der Stimme des HERRN gehorchen, daß du tust alle seine Gebote, die ich dir heute gebiete.

And thou shalt return and thou shalt hear the voice of the LORD and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

9 U nd der HERR, dein Gott, wird dir Glück geben in allen Werken deiner Hände, an der Frucht deines Leibes, an der Frucht deines Viehs, an der Frucht deines Landes, daß dir's zugut komme. Denn der HERR wird sich wenden, daß er sich über dich freue, dir zugut, wie er sich über deine Väter gefreut hat,

And the LORD thy God will make thee abound in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body and in the fruit of thy beasts and in the fruit of thy land, for good; for the LORD will turn to rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers,

10 d arum daß du der Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, gehorchest, zu halten seine Gebote und Rechte, die geschrieben stehen im Buch dieses Gesetzes, so du dich wirst bekehren zu dem HERRN, deinem Gott, von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele.

when thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, when thou shalt turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart and with all thy soul.

11 D enn das Gebot, das ich dir heute gebiete, ist dir nicht verborgen noch zu ferne

¶ For this commandment which I command thee today is not hidden unto thee, neither is it far off.

12 n och im Himmel, daß du möchtest sagen: Wer will uns in den Himmel fahren und es uns holen, daß wir's hören und tun?

It is not in heaven, that thou should say, Who shall go up for us to heaven and take it for us and recite it unto us, that we may fulfil it?

13 E s ist auch nicht jenseit des Meers, daß du möchtest sagen: Wer will uns über das Meer fahren und es uns holen, daß wir's hören und tun?

Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou should say, Who shall go over the sea for us and take it for us and recite it unto us, that we may fulfil it?

14 D enn es ist das Wort gar nahe bei dir, in deinem Munde und in deinem Herzen, daß du es tust.

But the word is very near unto thee, in thy mouth and in thy heart that thou may fulfil it.

15 S iehe ich habe dir heute vorgelegt das Leben und das Gute, den Tod und das Böse,

¶ See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

16 d er ich dir heute gebiete, daß du den HERRN, deinen Gott, liebst und wandelst in seinen Wegen und seine Gebote, Gesetze und Rechte haltest und leben mögest und gemehrt werdest und dich der HERR, dein Gott, segne in dem Lande, in das du einziehst, es einzunehmen.

for I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his rights, that thou may live and be multiplied; and may the LORD thy God bless thee in the land into which thou dost enter to inherit it.

17 W endest du aber dein Herz und gehorchst nicht, sondern läßt dich verführen, daß du andere Götter anbetest und ihnen dienest,

But if thine heart turns away so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away and worship other gods and serve them,

18 s o verkündige ich euch heute, daß ihr umkommen und nicht lange in dem Lande bleiben werdet, dahin du einziehst über den Jordan, es einzunehmen.

I declare unto you this day that ye shall surely perish and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, to go unto which thou passest the Jordan to inherit it.

19 I ch nehme Himmel und Erde heute über euch zu Zeugen: ich habe euch Leben und Tod, Segen und Fluch vorgelegt, daß du das Leben erwählest und du und dein Same leben mögt,

I call the heavens and the earth to witness today against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore, choose life that both thou and thy seed may live,

20 d aß ihr den HERRN, euren Gott, liebet und seiner Stimme gehorchet und ihm anhanget. Denn das ist dein Leben und dein langes Alter, daß du in dem Lande wohnst, das der HERR deinen Vätern Abraham, Isaak und Jakob geschworen hat ihnen zu geben.

that thou may love the LORD thy God and that thou may hear his voice and that thou may cleave unto him; for he is thy life and the length of thy days that thou may dwell in the land which the LORD swore unto thy fathers, to Abraham to Isaac and to Jacob, to give them.
