1 H ERR, ich traue auf dich; laß mich nimmermehr zu Schanden werden.

¶ In thee, O LORD, have I waited; let me not be forever put to shame.

2 E rrette mich durch deine Gerechtigkeit und hilf mir aus; neige deine Ohren zu mir und hilf mir!

Deliver me in thy righteousness and cause me to escape; incline thine ear unto me and save me.

3 S ei mir ein starker Hort, dahin ich immer fliehen möge, der du zugesagt hast mir zu helfen; denn du bist mein Fels und meine Burg.

Be thou my strong habitation unto which I may continually resort; thou hast given a commandment that I should be saved because thou art my rock and my fortress.

4 M ein Gott, hilf mir aus der Hand der Gottlosen, aus der Hand des Ungerechten und Tyrannen.

Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the perverse and violent man.

5 D enn du bist meine Zuversicht, HERR HERR, meine Hoffnung von meiner Jugend an.

For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD; thou art my security from my youth.

6 A uf dich habe ich mich verlassen von Mutterleibe an; du hast mich aus meiner Mutter Leib gezogen. Mein Ruhm ist immer von dir.

By thee have I been sustained from the womb; thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels; my praise has been continually of thee.

7 I ch bin vor vielen wie ein Wunder; aber du bist meine starke Zuversicht.

I am as a wonder unto many, but thou art my strong refuge.

8 L aß meinen Mund deines Ruhmes und deines Preises voll sein täglich.

Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy glory all the day.

9 V erwirf mich nicht in meinem Alter; verlaß mich nicht, wenn ich schwach werde.

Do not cast me off in the time of old age; do not forsake me when my strength fails.

10 D enn meine Feinde reden wider mich, und die auf meine Seele lauern, beraten sich miteinander

For my enemies speak against me, and those that lay in wait for my soul take counsel together,

11 u nd sprechen: "Gott hat ihn verlassen; jaget nach und ergreifet ihn, denn da ist kein Erretter."

saying, God has forsaken him; persecute and take him for there is no one to deliver him.

12 G ott, sei nicht ferne von mir; mein Gott, eile, mir zu helfen!

O God, be not far from me; O my God, make haste for my help.

13 S chämen müssen sich und umkommen, die meiner Seele zuwider sind; mit Schande und Hohn müssen sie überschüttet werden, die mein Unglück suchen.

Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.

14 I ch aber will immer harren und will immer deines Ruhmes mehr machen.

¶ But I will continually wait and will add upon all thy praise.

15 M ein Mund soll verkündigen deine Gerechtigkeit, täglich deine Wohltaten, die ich nicht alle zählen kann.

My mouth shall show forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day, for I know not the numbers thereof.

16 I ch gehe einher in der Kraft des HERRN HERRN; ich preise deine Gerechtigkeit allein.

I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.

17 G ott, du hast mich von Jugend auf gelehrt, und bis hierher verkündige ich deine Wunder.

O God, thou hast taught me from my youth and until now; I shall manifest thy wondrous works.

18 A uch verlaß mich nicht, Gott, im Alter, wenn ich grau werde, bis ich deinen Arm verkündige Kindeskindern und deine Kraft allen, die noch kommen sollen.

Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not until I have showed the strength of thy arm unto the next generation and thy power to every one that is to come,

19 G ott, deine Gerechtigkeit ist hoch, der du große Dinge tust. Gott, wer ist dir gleich?

and thy righteousness, O God, unto excellence because thou hast done great things; O God, who is like unto thee!

20 D enn du lässest mich erfahren viele und große Angst und machst mich wieder lebendig und holst mich wieder aus der Tiefe der Erde herauf.

Thou who hast caused me to see great and sore troubles, shalt return and quicken me and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

21 D u machst mich sehr groß und tröstest mich wieder.

Thou shalt increase my greatness and comfort me on every side.

22 S o danke ich auch dir mit Psalterspiel für deine Treue, mein Gott; ich lobsinge dir auf der Harfe, du Heiliger in Israel.

I will also praise thee with an instrument of the psaltery, O my God; unto thee will I sing thy truth with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.

23 M eine Lippen und meine Seele, die du erlöst hast, sind fröhlich und lobsingen dir.

My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing praises unto thee and my soul, which thou hast ransomed.

24 A uch dichtet meine Zunge täglich von deiner Gerechtigkeit; denn schämen müssen sich und zu Schanden werden, die mein Unglück suchen.

In the same manner my tongue shall talk of thy righteousness every day, for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.
