1 ¶ Then the LORD said unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my will would not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.

Y me dijo el SEÑOR: Si Moisés y Samuel se pusieran delante de mí, mi voluntad no será con este pueblo; échalos de delante de mí, y salgan.

2 A nd it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Where shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus hath the LORD said: Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity.

Y será que si te preguntaren: ¿A dónde saldremos? Les dirás: Así dijo el SEÑOR: El que a muerte, a muerte; el que a espada, a espada; el que a hambre, a hambre; y el que a cautividad, a cautividad.

3 A nd I will visit over them four kinds of evil, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven and the beasts of the earth to devour and destroy.

Y visitaré sobre ellos cuatro géneros de males, dijo el SEÑOR: espada para matar, y perros para despedazar, y aves del cielo y bestias de la tierra, para devorar y para disipar.

4 A nd I will give them over to be sifted by all the kingdoms of the earth because of Manasseh, the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.

Y los entregaré para que sean zarandeados por todos los reinos de la tierra, a causa de Manasés hijo de Ezequías rey de Judá, por lo que hizo en Jerusalén.

5 F or who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who is to come to ask regarding thy peace?

Porque ¿quién tendrá compasión de ti, oh Jerusalén? ¿O quién se entristecerá por tu causa? ¿O quién ha de venir a preguntar por tu paz?

6 T hou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD; thou art gone backward: therefore, I stretched out my hand over thee and cast thee away; I am tired of repenting.

Tú me dejaste, dice el SEÑOR, atrás te volviste; por tanto, yo extendí sobre ti mi mano, y te eché a perder; estoy cansado de arrepentirme.

7 A nd I fanned them with a fan unto the gates of the land; I bereaved them of children, I wasted my people; they did not turn from their ways.

Y los aventé con aventador hasta las puertas de la tierra; desahijé, desperdicié mi pueblo; no se tornaron de sus caminos.

8 T heir widows are multiplied unto me more than the sand of the sea: I have brought upon them a destroyer at noonday against the young; I have caused him to fall upon her suddenly, and terrors upon the city.

Sus viudas se me multiplicaron más que la arena del mar; traje contra ellos destruidor a mediodía sobre la compañía de jóvenes; hice caer sobre ella de repente ciudad de enemigos y terrores.

9 S he that has borne seven languishes; her soul is filled with sorrow; her sun is gone down while it was yet day; she has been ashamed and confounded; and the residue of them I will deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.

Se enflaqueció la que dio a luz siete; se llenó de dolor su alma; su sol se le puso siendo aún de día; se avergonzó y se llenó de confusión; y lo que de ella quedare, lo entregaré a espada delante de sus enemigos, dijo el SEÑOR.

10 ¶ Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them curses me.

¡Ay de mí, madre mía, que me has engendrado hombre de contienda y hombre de discordia a toda la tierra! Nunca les di a interés, ni lo tomé de ellos; y todos me maldicen.

11 T he LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.

Dijo el SEÑOR: De cierto tus reliquias serán en bien; de cierto haré que el enemigo te salga a recibir en el tiempo trabajoso, y en el tiempo de angustia.

12 S hall iron break the iron from the place of the north wind and the bronze?

¿Por ventura el hierro quebrará al hierro de la parte del aquilón, y al bronce?

13 T hy riches and thy treasures I will give to the spoil without price, and that for all thy sins, even in all thy borders.

Tus riquezas y tus tesoros daré a despojo sin ningún precio, por todos tus pecados, y en todos tus términos;

14 A nd I will make thee to serve thine enemies in a land which thou dost not know; for a fire is kindled in my anger, which shall burn upon you.

y te haré servir a tus enemigos en tierra que no conoces; porque fuego es encendido en mi furor, y arderá sobre vosotros.

15 ¶ O LORD, thou knowest: remember me and visit me and revenge me of my enemies; do not take me away in the prolongation of thy anger, know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke.

Tú lo sabes, oh SEÑOR; acuérdate de mí, y visítame, y véngame de mis enemigos. No me tomes a tu cargo en la prolongación de tu enojo; sepas que sufro vergüenza a causa de ti.

16 T hy words were found, and I ate them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart: for thy name was called upon me, O LORD God of the hosts.

Se hallaron tus palabras, y yo las comí; y tu palabra me fue por gozo y por alegría de mi corazón; porque tu nombre se llamó sobre mí, oh SEÑOR Dios de los ejércitos.

17 I did not sit in the assembly of the mockers, nor did I become puffed up by reason of thy prophecy; I sat alone because thou hast filled me with indignation.

No me senté en compañía de burladores, ni me engreí a causa de tu profecía; me senté solo, porque me llenaste de indignación.

18 W hy was my pain perpetual and my wound incurable, which refuses to be healed? Wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar and as waters that fail?

¿Por qué fue perpetuo mi dolor, y mi herida desahuciada no admitió cura? Eres conmigo como mentiroso, como aguas que no son fieles.

19 T herefore thus hath the LORD said, If thou wilt return, then I will bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me; and if thou wilt take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth; let them return unto thee, but return not thou unto them.

Por tanto, así dijo el SEÑOR: Si te convirtieres, yo te convertiré, y delante de mí estarás; y si sacares lo precioso de lo vil, serás como mi boca. Conviértanse ellos a ti, y tú no te conviertas a ellos.

20 A nd I will give thee unto this people as a fenced brazen wall, and they shall fight against thee but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to keep thee and to defend thee, said the LORD.

Y te daré a este pueblo por fuerte muro de bronce, y pelearán contra ti, y no te vencerán; porque yo estoy contigo para guardarte y para defenderte, dijo el SEÑOR.

21 A nd I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will ransom thee out of the hand of the strong.

Y te libraré de la mano de los malos, y te rescataré de la mano de los fuertes.
