1 ¶ But it came to pass within some days in the time of wheat harvest that Samson visited his wife with a kid, and he said, I will go in to my wife into the chamber. But her father would not allow him to go in.

¶ Y aconteció después de algunos días, que en el tiempo de la siega del trigo, Sansón visitó a su mujer con un cabrito, diciendo: Entraré a mi mujer a la cámara. Mas el padre de ella no lo dejó entrar.

2 A nd her father said, I was persuaded that thou didst utterly hate her; therefore, I gave her to thy companion. Is not her younger sister fairer than she? Take her, I pray thee, instead of her.

Y dijo el padre de ella: Me persuadí que tú la aborrecías, y la di a tu compañero. Mas su hermana menor, ¿no es más hermosa que ella? Tómala, pues, en su lugar.

3 A nd Samson replied unto them, Now I shall be blameless before the Philistines if I do them injury.

Y Sansón les respondió: Yo seré sin culpa esta vez para con los filisteos, si mal les hiciere.

4 A nd Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took torches, and turning them tail to tail, he put a torch between every two tails.

Y fue Sansón y cogió trescientas zorras, y tomando teas, y trabando aquellas por la cola, puso entre cada dos colas una tea.

5 T hen, setting the torches on fire, he let them go into the standing grain of the Philistines and burnt up both the shocks and also the standing grain with the vineyards and oliveyards.

Después, encendiendo las teas, echó las zorras en los sembrados de los filisteos, y quemó las mieses amontonadas y en pie, viñas y olivares.

6 T hen the Philistines said, Who has done this? And they answered, Samson, the son-in-law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife and given her to his companion. And the Philistines came up and burnt her and her father with fire.

Y dijeron los filisteos: ¿Quién hizo esto? Y les fue dicho: Sansón, el yerno del timnateo, porque le quitó su mujer y la dio a su compañero. Y vinieron los filisteos, y los quemaron a fuego a ella y a su padre.

7 A nd Samson said unto them, Though ye have done this, yet I will be avenged of you, and after that I will cease.

Entonces Sansón les dijo: ¿Así lo habíais de hacer? Mas yo no descansaré hasta que me haya vengado de vosotros.

8 A nd he smote them hip and thigh with a great slaughter, and he went down and dwelt in the cleft of the rock Etam.

Y los hirió pierna y muslo con gran mortandad; y descendió, y asentó en la cueva de la peña de Etam.

9 ¶ Then the Philistines went up and pitched camp in Judah and spread themselves in Lehi.

¶ Y los filisteos subieron y pusieron campamento en Judá, y se tendieron por Lehi.

10 A nd the men of Judah said, Why have ye come up against us? And they answered, We have come up to bind Samson, to do to him as he has done to us.

Y los varones de Judá les dijeron: ¿Por qué habéis subido contra nosotros? Y ellos respondieron: A prender a Sansón hemos subido, para hacerle como él nos ha hecho.

11 T hen three thousand men of Judah went to the cleft of the rock Etam and said to Samson, Knowest thou not that the Philistines are rulers over us? What is this that thou hast done unto us? And he said unto them, As they did unto me, so have I done unto them.

Y vinieron tres mil hombres de Judá a la cueva de la peña de Etam, y dijeron a Sansón: ¿No sabes tú que los filisteos dominan sobre nosotros? ¿Por qué nos has hecho esto? Y él les respondió: Yo les he hecho como ellos me hicieron.

12 A nd they said unto him, We have come to bind thee that we may deliver thee into the hand of the Philistines. And Samson said unto them, Swear unto me that ye will not fall upon me yourselves.

Ellos entonces le dijeron: Nosotros hemos venido para prenderte, y entregarte en mano de los filisteos. Y Sansón les respondió: Juradme que vosotros no me mataréis.

13 A nd they answered him, saying, No, we will bind thee fast and deliver thee into their hands; but surely we will not kill thee. And they bound him with two new cords and brought him up from the rock.

Y ellos le respondieron, diciendo: No; solamente te prenderemos, y te entregaremos en sus manos; mas no te mataremos. Entonces le ataron con dos cuerdas nuevas, y le hicieron venir de la peña.

14 A nd when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines received him with shouts; and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.

Y cuando vino hasta Lehi, los filisteos le salieron a recibir con alarido; y el Espíritu del SEÑOR cayó sobre él, y las cuerdas que estaban en sus brazos se volvieron como lino quemado con fuego, y las ataduras se cayeron de sus manos.

15 A nd he found a new jawbone of an ass and put forth his hand and took it and slew a thousand men with it.

Y hallando a mano una quijada de asno aún fresca, extendió la mano y la tomó, e hirió con ella a mil hombres.

16 T hen Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, one heap, two heaps; with the jaw of an ass I have slain a thousand men.

Entonces Sansón dijo: Con la quijada de un asno, un montón, dos montones; con la quijada de un asno herí mil varones.

17 A nd when he had finished speaking, he cast away the jawbone out of his hand and called that place Ramathlehi.

Y acabando de hablar, echó de su mano la quijada, y llamó a aquel lugar Ramat-lehi.

18 ¶ And he was sore athirst and called on the LORD and said, Thou hast given this great salvation by the hand of thy slave; and now shall I die for thirst and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?

¶ Y teniendo gran sed, clamó luego al SEÑOR, y dijo: Tú has dado esta gran salvación por mano de tu siervo; ¿y moriré yo ahora de sed, y caeré en mano de los incircuncisos?

19 T hen God broke a tooth that was in the jaw, and water came out there; and he drank, and recovered his spirit, and he lived. Therefore he called the name thereof Enhakkore, which is in Lehi unto this day.

Entonces quebró Dios una muela que estaba en la quijada, y salieron de allí aguas, y bebió, y recobró su espíritu, y vivió. Por tanto llamó el nombre de aquel lugar, En-hacore ( fuente del que llama), el cual está en Lehi, hasta hoy.

20 A nd he judged Israel in the days of the Philistines twenty years.

Y juzgó a Israel en los días de los filisteos veinte años.
