1 ¶ And Saul spoke to Jonathan, his son, and to all his slaves that they should kill David.

¶ Y habló Saúl a Jonatán su hijo, y a todos sus criados, para que mataran a David; mas Jonatán hijo de Saúl amaba a David en gran manera.

2 B ut Jonathan, Saul’s son, delighted much in David, and Jonathan told David, saying, Saul, my father, seeks to kill thee: now, therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself until the morning and abide in a secret place and hide thyself.

Y dio aviso a David, diciendo: Saúl mi padre procura matarte; por tanto, mira ahora por ti hasta la mañana, y estate en un lugar secreto, y escóndete.

3 A nd I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where thou art, and I will speak with my father of thee, and what I see, that I will tell thee.

Y yo saldré y estaré junto a mi padre en el campo donde estuvieres; y hablaré de ti a mi padre, y te haré saber lo que viere.

4 A nd Jonathan spoke good of David unto Saul, his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his slave David, for he has not sinned against thee; on the other hand his works have been very good for thee,

Y Jonatán habló bien de David a Saúl su padre, y le dijo: No peque el rey contra su siervo David, pues que ningún pecado ha cometido contra ti; antes sus obras te han sido muy buenas;

5 f or he put his soul in his hand and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel. Thou didst see it and rejoice. Why then wilt thou sin against innocent blood to slay David without a cause?

porque él puso su alma en su palma, e hirió al filisteo, y el SEÑOR hizo una gran salvación a todo Israel. Tú lo viste, y te alegraste; ¿por qué, pues, pecarás contra la sangre inocente, matando a David sin causa?

6 A nd Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan, and Saul swore, As the LORD lives, he shall not be slain.

Y oyendo Saúl la voz de Jonatán, juró: Vive el SEÑOR, que no morirá.

7 A nd Jonathan called David, and Jonathan told him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence as in times past.

Llamando entonces Jonatán a David, le declaró todas estas palabras; y él mismo trajo a David a Saúl, y estuvo delante de él como había sido el caso tres días antes.

8 ¶ And there was war again, and David went out and fought with the Philistines and slew them with a great slaughter, and they fled from him.

¶ Y volvió a hacerse guerra; y salió David y peleó contra los filisteos, y los hirió con gran estrago, y huyeron delante de él.

9 A nd the evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand, and David played with his hand.

Y el espíritu malo de parte del SEÑOR fue sobre Saúl; estando él sentado en su casa con una lanza en su mano, mientras David estaba tañendo con su mano.

10 A nd Saul sought to smite David to the wall with the spear, but he slipped away out of Saul’s presence, who smote the spear into the wall; and David fled and escaped that night.

Y Saúl procuró enclavar a David con la lanza en la pared; mas él se apartó de delante de Saúl, el cual hirió con la lanza en la pared; y David huyó, y se escapó aquella noche.

11 ¶ Saul also sent messengers unto David’s house to watch him and to slay him in the morning. But Michal, David’s wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life tonight, tomorrow thou shalt be dead.

¶ Saúl envió luego mensajeros a casa de David para que lo guardaran, y lo mataran a la mañana. Mas Mical su mujer lo descubrió a David, diciendo: Si no salvares tu vida esta noche, mañana serás muerto.

12 S o Michal let David down through a window, and he went and fled and escaped.

Y Mical descolgó a David por una ventana; y él se fue, y huyó, y se escapó.

13 T hen Michal took an image and laid it in the bed and put a pillow of goats’ hair at his head and covered it with a cloth.

Tomó luego Mical una estatua, y la puso sobre la cama, y le acomodó por cabecera una almohada de pelos de cabra, y la cubrió con una ropa.

14 A nd when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick.

Y cuando Saúl envió mensajeros que tomaran a David, ella respondió: Está enfermo.

15 A nd Saul sent the messengers again to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed that I may slay him.

Y volvió Saúl a enviar mensajeros para que vieran a David, diciendo: Traédmelo en la cama para que lo mate.

16 A nd when the messengers were come in, behold, there was an image in the bed with a pillow of goats’ hair at his head.

Y cuando los mensajeros entraron, he aquí la estatua estaba en la cama, y una almohada de pelos de cabra por cabecera.

17 A nd Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou deceived me so and sent away my enemy that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said unto me, Let me go; if not, I shall kill thee.

Entonces Saúl dijo a Mical: ¿Por qué me has así engañado, y has dejado escapar a mi enemigo? Y Mical respondió a Saúl: Porque él me dijo: Déjame ir; si no, yo te mataré.

18 ¶ So David fled and escaped and came to Samuel in Ramah and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.

¶ Huyó, pues, David, y se escapó, y vino a Samuel en Ramá, y le dijo todo lo que Saúl había hecho con él. Y se fueron él y Samuel, y moraron en Naiot.

19 A nd it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.

Y fue dado aviso a Saúl, diciendo: He aquí que David está en Naiot en Ramá.

20 A nd Saul sent messengers to take David, and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.

Y envió Saúl mensajeros que trajeran a David, los cuales vieron una compañía de profetas que profetizaban, y a Samuel que estaba señalado para presidirlos. Y vino el Espíritu de Dios sobre los mensajeros de Saúl, y ellos también profetizaron.

21 A nd when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also.

Y fue hecho saber a Saúl, y él envió otros mensajeros, los cuales también profetizaron. Y Saúl volvió a enviar por tercera vez mensajeros, y ellos también profetizaron.

22 T hen he also went to Ramah and came to a great well that is in Sechu, and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they are at Naioth in Ramah.

Entonces él mismo vino a Ramá; y llegando al pozo grande que está en Secú, preguntó diciendo: ¿Dónde están Samuel y David? Y le fue respondido: He aquí están en Naiot en Ramá.

23 A nd he went there to Naioth in Ramah, and the Spirit of God came upon him also, and he went on and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.

Y fue allá a Naiot en Ramá; y también vino sobre él el Espíritu de Dios, e iba profetizando, hasta que llegó a Naiot en Ramá.

24 A nd he stripped off his clothes also and prophesied before Samuel in like manner and lay down naked all that day and all that night. From here it was said, Is Saul also among the prophets?

Y él también se despojó de sus vestidos, y profetizó también delante de Samuel, y cayó desnudo todo aquel día y toda aquella noche. De aquí se dijo: ¿También Saúl entre los profetas?
