1 ¶ Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house; and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.

Y aconteció que al tercer día se vistió Ester su vestido real, y se puso en el patio de adentro de la casa del rey, enfrente del aposento del rey; y estaba el rey sentado en su trono real en el aposento real, enfrente de la puerta del aposento.

2 A nd it was so, when the king saw Esther, the queen, standing in the court, that she had grace in his sight; and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near and touched the top of the sceptre.

Y fue que, cuando vio a la reina Ester que estaba en el patio, ella tuvo gracia en sus ojos; y el rey extendió a Ester la vara de oro que tenía en la mano. Entonces vino Ester, y tocó la punta de la vara.

3 T hen the king said unto her, What wilt thou, Queen Esther? And what is thy request? It shall be given thee, even to the half of the kingdom.

Y le dijo el rey: ¿Qué tienes, reina Ester? ¿Y cuál es tu petición? Hasta la mitad del reino, se te dará.

4 A nd Esther answered, If it seems good to the king, let the king and Haman come today to the banquet that I have prepared for him.

Y Ester dijo: Si al rey place, venga hoy el rey con Amán al banquete que le he hecho.

5 T hen the king said, Cause Haman to make haste that he may do as Esther has said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.

Y respondió el rey: Daos prisa, llamad a Amán, para que haga el mandamiento de Ester. Vino, pues, el rey con Amán al banquete que Ester dispuso.

6 A nd the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? And it shall be granted thee. What is thy request? Even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.

Y dijo el rey a Ester en el banquete del vino: ¿Cuál es tu petición, y te será otorgada? ¿Cuál es tu demanda? Aunque sea la mitad del reino, te será concedida.

7 T hen answered Esther and said, My petition and my request is:

Entonces respondió Ester, y dijo: Mi petición y mi demanda es:

8 I f I have found grace in the sight of the king and if it pleases the king to grant my petition and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do tomorrow as the king has commanded.

Si he hallado gracia en los ojos del rey, y si place al rey otorgar mi petición y hacer mi demanda, que venga el rey con Amán al banquete que les dispondré; y mañana haré conforme a lo que el rey ha mandado.

9 ¶ Then Haman went forth that day joyful and with a glad heart, but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king’s gate and that he did not stand up nor move for him, he was filled with indignation against Mordecai.

¶ Y salió Amán aquel día contento y alegre de corazón; pero cuando vio a Mardoqueo a la puerta del rey, que no se levantaba ni se movía de su lugar, se llenó de ira contra Mardoqueo.

10 N evertheless, Haman refrained himself, and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends and Zeresh, his wife.

Mas se refrenó Amán, y vino a su casa, y envió, e hizo venir sus amigos, y a Zeres su mujer.

11 A nd Haman told them of the glory of his riches and the multitude of his sons and all the things in which the king had promoted him and how he had advanced him above the princes and slaves of the king.

Y les refirió Amán la gloria de sus riquezas, y la multitud de sus hijos, y todas las cosas con que el rey le había engrandecido y con que le había ensalzado sobre los príncipes y siervos del rey.

12 H aman said, moreover, Even Esther, the queen, let no one come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself, and tomorrow I am also invited by her with the king.

Y añadió Amán: También la reina Ester a ninguno hizo venir con el rey al banquete que ella dispuso, sino a mí; y aun para mañana soy convidado de ella con el rey.

13 Y et all this avails me nothing so long as I see Mordecai, the Jew, sitting at the king’s gate.

Mas todo esto nada me sirve cada vez que veo al judío Mardoqueo sentado a la puerta del rey.

14 T hen said Zeresh, his wife, and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made fifty cubits high, and tomorrow speak unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged upon it; then go in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman, and he caused the gallows to be made.

Y le dijo Zeres su mujer, y todos sus amigos: Hagan una horca alta de cincuenta codos, y mañana di al rey que cuelguen a Mardoqueo en ella; y entra con el rey al banquete alegre. Y agradó la cosa en los ojos de Amán, e hizo preparar la horca.
