1 ¶ And when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the LORD and the king’s house and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do,

Y cuando Salomón hubo acabado la obra de la Casa del SEÑOR, y la casa real, y todo lo que Salomón quiso hacer,

2 t he LORD appeared to Solomon the second time as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.

el SEÑOR se le apareció a Salomón la segunda vez, como se le había aparecido en Gabaón.

3 A nd the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication that thou hast made in my presence. I have sanctified this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever, and my eyes and my heart shall be there all the days.

Y le dijo el SEÑOR: Yo he oído tu oración y tu ruego, que has hecho en mi presencia. Yo he santificado esta Casa que tú has edificado, para poner mi nombre en ella para siempre; y en ella estarán mis ojos y mi corazón todos los días.

4 A nd if thou wilt walk before me as David, thy father walked, in integrity of heart and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, keeping my statutes and my rights,

Y si tú anduvieres delante de mí, como anduvo David tu padre, en integridad de corazón y en rectitud, haciendo todas las cosas que yo te he mandado, y guardando mis estatutos y mis derechos,

5 t hen I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever as I spoke unto David, thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.

yo afirmaré el trono de tu reino sobre Israel para siempre, como hablé a David tu padre, diciendo: No faltará de ti varón en el trono de Israel.

6 B ut if ye shall obstinately turn from following me, ye or your sons, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them,

Mas si obstinadamente os apartareis de mí vosotros y vuestros hijos, y no guardareis mis mandamientos y mis estatutos que yo he dado delante de vosotros, sino que fuéreis y sirviéreis a dioses ajenos, y los adoráreis;

7 I will cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them, and this house, which I have sanctified unto my name, I will cast out of my sight, and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all peoples;

yo cortaré a Israel de sobre la faz de la tierra que les he entregado; y esta Casa que he santificado a mi nombre, yo la echaré de delante de mí, e Israel será por proverbio y fábula a todos los pueblos;

8 a nd at this house, which was high, any one that passes by it shall be astonished and shall hiss, and they shall say, Why has the LORD done thus unto this land and to this house?

y a esta Casa que estaba en estima, cualquiera que pasare por ella se pasmará, y silbará, y dirá: ¿Por qué ha hecho así el SEÑOR a esta tierra, y a esta Casa?

9 A nd they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt and have taken hold upon other gods and have worshipped them and served them; for this the LORD has brought upon them all this evil.

Y dirán: Por cuanto dejaron al SEÑOR su Dios, que había sacado a sus padres de tierra de Egipto, y echaron mano a los dioses ajenos, y los adoraron, y los sirvieron; por eso ha traído el SEÑOR sobre ellos todo este mal.

10 ¶ And it came to pass at the end of twenty years in which Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the LORD and the king’s house

¶ Y aconteció al cabo de los veinte años, que Salomón había edificado las dos casas, la Casa del SEÑOR y la casa real

11 ( for which Hiram, the king of Tyre, had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees and with gold, according to all his desire), that then King Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

(para las cuales Hiram rey de Tiro, había traído a Salomón madera de cedro y de haya, y cuanto oro él quiso), que el rey Salomón dio a Hiram veinte ciudades en tierra de Galilea.

12 A nd Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him, and they did not please him.

Y salió Hiram de Tiro para ver las ciudades que Salomón le había dado, y no le gustaron.

13 A nd he said, What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And they called them the land of Cabul unto this day.

Y dijo: ¿Qué ciudades son éstas que me has dado, hermano? Y les puso por nombre, la tierra de Cabul, hasta hoy.

14 A nd Hiram had sent the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold.

E Hiram había enviado al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro.

15 ¶ And this is the account of the levy which King Solomon raised to build the house of the LORD and his own house and Millo and the wall of Jerusalem and Hazor and Megiddo and Gezer.

Y ésta es la cuenta del tributo que el rey Salomón impuso para edificar la Casa del SEÑOR, y su casa, y a Milo, y el muro de Jerusalén, y a Hazor, Meguido, y Gezer.

16 F or Pharaoh, king of Egypt, had gone up and taken Gezer and burnt it with fire and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city and given it for a gift unto his daughter, Solomon’s wife.

¶ Faraón el rey de Egipto había subido y tomado a Gezer, y la quemó, y mató a los cananeos que habitaban la ciudad, y la había dado en don a su hija la mujer de Salomón.

17 A nd Solomon built Gezer and Bethhoron, the lower,

Restauró pues Salomón a Gezer, y a la Bet-horón de abajo,

18 a nd Baalath and Tadmor in the land of the wilderness,

a Baalat, y a Tadmor en tierra del desierto;

19 l ikewise all the cities of store that Solomon had and cities for his chariots and cities for his horsemen and that which Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem and in Lebanon and in all the land of his dominion.

asimismo todas las ciudades donde Salomón tenía municiones, y las ciudades de los carros, y las ciudades de la gente de a caballo, y todo lo que Salomón deseó edificar en Jerusalén, en el Líbano, y en toda la tierra de su señorío.

20 A nd all the peoples that were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which were not of the sons of Israel,

A todos los pueblos que quedaron de los amorreos, heteos, ferezeos, heveos, jebuseos, que no fueron de los hijos de Israel;

21 t heir children that were left after them in the land, whom the sons of Israel were not able utterly to destroy, upon those Solomon levied a tribute of bondservice unto this day.

a sus hijos que quedaron en la tierra después de ellos, que los hijos de Israel no pudieron acabar, hizo Salomón que sirvieran con tributo hasta hoy.

22 B ut of the sons of Israel, Solomon did not impose service, but they were men of war, or his slaves or his princes or his captains or rulers of his chariots or his horsemen.

Mas a ninguno de los hijos de Israel impuso Salomón servicio, sino que eran hombres de guerra, o sus criados, o sus príncipes, o sus capitanes, o príncipes de sus carros, o su gente de a caballo.

23 A nd those that Solomon had made princes and officers over Solomon’s work were five hundred and fifty, who bore rule over the people that wrought in the work.

Y los que Salomón había hecho príncipes y prepósitos sobre las obras de Salomón, eran quinientos cincuenta, los cuales estaban sobre el pueblo que trabajaba en aquella obra.

24 B ut Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which Solomon had built for her; then he built Millo.

Y subió la hija de Faraón de la ciudad de David a su casa que Salomón le había edificado; entonces edificó él a Milo.

25 A nd three times in a year Solomon offered burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the LORD, and he burnt incense upon the altar that was before the LORD, after the house was finished.

Y ofrecía Salomón tres veces cada año holocaustos y pacíficos sobre el altar que él edificó al SEÑOR, y quemaba incienso sobre el que estaba delante del SEÑOR, después que la Casa fue acabada.

26 A nd king Solomon made a navy of ships in Eziongeber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom.

¶ Hizo también el rey Salomón navíos en Ezión-geber, que es junto a Elot en la ribera del mar Bermejo, en la tierra de Edom.

27 A nd Hiram sent in the navy his slaves, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea, with the slaves of Solomon.

Y envió Hiram en ellos a sus siervos, marineros y diestros en el mar, con los siervos de Salomón;

28 A nd they went to Ophir and brought gold from there, four hundred and twenty talents and brought it to king Solomon.

los cuales fueron a Ofir, y tomaron de allí oro, cuatrocientos veinte talentos, y lo trajeron al rey Salomón.
