1 ¶ He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my hope and my fortress: my God; in him will I secure myself.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!”
3 S urely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler and from the mortal pestilence.
For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper And from the deadly pestilence.
4 H e shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings thou shalt be secure: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.
5 T hou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flies by day,
You will not be afraid of the terror by night, Or of the arrow that flies by day;
6 n or for the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.
Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon.
7 T housands shall fall at thy side and ten thousands at thy right hand, but it shall not come near thee.
A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not approach you.
8 S urely with thine eyes thou shalt behold and see the reward of the wicked.
You will only look on with your eyes And see the recompense of the wicked.
9 ¶ Because thou hast made the LORD, who is my hope, even the most High, thy habitation,
For you have made the Lord, my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place.
10 n o evil shall befall thee, neither shall any plague come near thy dwelling.
No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent.
11 F or he shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways.
For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways.
12 T hey shall bear thee up in their hands lest thy foot stumble against a stone.
They will bear you up in their hands, That you do not strike your foot against a stone.
13 T hou shalt tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
You will tread upon the lion and cobra, The young lion and the serpent you will trample down.
14 B ecause he has set his will upon me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high because he has known my name.
“ Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name.
15 H e shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and glorify him.
“He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
16 W ith long life I will satisfy him and show him my saving health.
“With a long life I will satisfy him And let him see My salvation.”
