1 T hen the Lord took note of Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah as He had promised.

Господь, как Он и сказал, был милостив к Сарре и выполнил Свое обещание:

2 S o Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the appointed time of which God had spoken to him.

Сарра забеременела и родила Аврааму сына, когда тот уже состарился, в то самое время, как обещал ему Бог.

3 A braham called the name of his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac.

Авраам дал новорожденному сыну, которого родила ему Сарра, имя Исаак.

4 T hen Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.

Когда его сыну Исааку исполнилось восемь дней, Авраам обрезал его, как велел ему Бог.

5 N ow Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.

Аврааму было сто лет, когда у него родился сын Исаак.

6 S arah said, “God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh with me.”

Сарра сказала: – Бог заставил меня смеяться; каждый, кто услышит об этом, рассмеется вместе со мной.

7 A nd she said, “ Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.”

И добавила: – Кто бы сказал Аврааму, что Сарра будет кормить грудью? Но я родила ему сына в его старости.

8 T he child grew and was weaned, and Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned. Sarah Turns against Hagar

Ребенок вырос и был отнят от груди. В тот день, когда Исаак был отнят от груди, Авраам устроил большой пир. Изгнание Агари и Измаила

9 N ow Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, mocking.

Сарра увидела, что сын, которого египтянка Агарь родила Аврааму, насмехается над Исааком,

10 T herefore she said to Abraham, “ Drive out this maid and her son, for the son of this maid shall not be an heir with my son Isaac.”

и сказала Аврааму: – Прогони эту рабыню и ее сына, потому что сын этой рабыни не разделит наследства с моим сыном Исааком.

11 T he matter distressed Abraham greatly because of his son.

Авраам был сильно огорчен, потому что это был его сын.

12 B ut God said to Abraham, “ Do not be distressed because of the lad and your maid; whatever Sarah tells you, listen to her, for through Isaac your descendants shall be named.

Но Бог сказал ему: – Не огорчайся из-за мальчика и рабыни. Послушайся Сарры и сделай все, как она говорит, потому что через Исаака ты будешь иметь потомство, которое Я тебе обещал.

13 A nd of the son of the maid I will make a nation also, because he is your descendant.”

Но Я произведу народ и от сына рабыни, потому что и он – твой потомок.

14 S o Abraham rose early in the morning and took bread and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar, putting them on her shoulder, and gave her the boy, and sent her away. And she departed and wandered about in the wilderness of Beersheba.

На другой день рано утром Авраам взял еды и бурдюк с водой и дал Агари: положил их ей на плечи и отослал ее прочь вместе с ребенком. Она отправилась в путь и блуждала в пустыне Вирсавии.

15 W hen the water in the skin was used up, she left the boy under one of the bushes.

Когда вода в бурдюке кончилась, она оставила мальчика под кустом,

16 T hen she went and sat down opposite him, about a bowshot away, for she said, “Do not let me see the boy die.” And she sat opposite him, and lifted up her voice and wept.

и отойдя, села неподалеку, на расстоянии выстрела из лука, потому что думала: «Не стану смотреть, как мальчик умирает». И сидя там неподалеку, она разрыдалась.

17 G od heard the lad crying; and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What is the matter with you, Hagar? Do not fear, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is.

Бог услышал плач мальчика и Ангел Бога обратился к Агари с небес и сказал ей: – Что с тобой, Агарь? Не бойся, Бог услышал, как плачет мальчик там, где он лежит.

18 A rise, lift up the lad, and hold him by the hand, for I will make a great nation of him.”

Вставай, подними мальчика, и возьми его за руку, потому что Я произведу от него великий народ.

19 T hen God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water; and she went and filled the skin with water and gave the lad a drink.

Тут Бог открыл ей глаза, и она увидела колодец с водой. Она пошла, наполнила бурдюк водой и напоила мальчика.

20 G od was with the lad, and he grew; and he lived in the wilderness and became an archer.

Бог был с мальчиком. Измаил вырос, поселился в пустыне и стал стрелком из лука.

21 H e lived in the wilderness of Paran, and his mother took a wife for him from the land of Egypt. Covenant with Abimelech

Он жил в пустыне Паран, и мать взяла для него жену из Египта. Договор между Авраамом и Авимелехом в Вирсавии

22 N ow it came about at that time that Abimelech and Phicol, the commander of his army, spoke to Abraham, saying, “ God is with you in all that you do;

В то время Авимелех и Фихол, начальник его войска, сказали Аврааму: – Бог с тобой во всем, что ты делаешь.

23 n ow therefore, swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me or with my offspring or with my posterity, but according to the kindness that I have shown to you, you shall show to me and to the land in which you have sojourned.”

Поклянись же мне здесь перед Богом, что ты не поступишь вероломно ни со мной, ни с моими детьми, ни с моим потомством. Окажи мне и стране, в которой ты живешь как пришелец, ту же милость, какую я оказал тебе.

24 A braham said, “I swear it.”

Авраам сказал: – Клянусь.

25 B ut Abraham complained to Abimelech because of the well of water which the servants of Abimelech had seized.

Потом Авраам упрекнул Авимелеха за колодец с водой, который захватили слуги Авимелеха.

26 A nd Abimelech said, “I do not know who has done this thing; you did not tell me, nor did I hear of it until today.”

Но Авимелех сказал: – Я не знаю, кто это сделал. Ты не говорил мне, и до сего дня я не слышал об этом.

27 A braham took sheep and oxen and gave them to Abimelech, and the two of them made a covenant.

Авраам привел мелкий и крупный скот и дал Авимелеху, и они заключили союз.

28 T hen Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.

Авраам отделил из стада семь молодых овец,

29 A bimelech said to Abraham, “What do these seven ewe lambs mean, which you have set by themselves?”

и Авимелех спросил Авраама: – Что означают эти семь молодых овец, которых ты отделил особо?

30 H e said, “You shall take these seven ewe lambs from my hand so that it may be a witness to me, that I dug this well.”

Он ответил: – Прими от меня семь этих молодых овец как свидетельство того, что я выкопал этот колодец, и он мой.

31 T herefore he called that place Beersheba, because there the two of them took an oath.

Вот почему то место было названо Вирсавия: ведь они оба дали там клятву.

32 S o they made a covenant at Beersheba; and Abimelech and Phicol, the commander of his army, arose and returned to the land of the Philistines.

Заключив союз в Вирсавии, Авимелех и Фихол, начальник его войска, вернулись в землю филистимлян.

33 A braham planted a tamarisk tree at Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God.

Авраам посадил в Вирсавии тамариск и призвал там Имя Господа, Бога Вечного.

34 A nd Abraham sojourned in the land of the Philistines for many days.

Авраам жил на земле филистимлян долгое время.
